“10 billion?”

Charlie was in shock. He knew that his grandfather’s family was quite wealthy, but when he was younger, he didn’t grasp the concept of money. He only understood that the Wade Family was among the elite families in Eastcliff and across the nation.

But he had no idea how much wealth they actually possessed.

Now, though, he realized the gravity of it all.

Ten billion was merely pocket change, the entire Wade Family was likely worth over a trillion!

To be honest, he felt a mix of emotions. Yet, as he thought about his parents deaths and the blame he placed on his grandfather, he couldn’t bring himself to forgive him.

Stephen Thompson noticed his inner conflict and quickly interjected, “Young Master, you are part of the Wade family. You have every right to this fortune, technically, this money belonged to your father. The master mentioned that if you’re willing to return, you’ll inherit the family’s trillion-dollar fortune. If you choose not to return, then this amount will cover your living expenses.”

“Oh and by the way, the largest enterprise in Aurous Hill, the Emgrand Group, valued at 100 billion dollars, was fully acquired by the Wade family yesterday. All the shares are now registered in your name. You can visit the Emgrand Group for the handover tomorrow!”

Charlie found it hard to believe.

The Wade family had really gone all out for him, hadn’t they?

Ten billion in black card and the complete Emgrand Group worth 100 billion!

Although Aurous Hill was full of formidable players, the Emgrand Group was the only true powerhouse. Every family had to show respect before it, it was the emperor of the business landscape in Aurous Hill!

Even the Wilson family and the White family who had belittled him today, along with the Jones family pursuing Claire, were mere underlings compared to the Emgrand Group! And now, it was all his?

At that moment, Stephen Thompson handed him a business card, saying, “Young Master, you may want to take some time to collect your thoughts. I won’t disturb you any longer. Here’s my contact information, feel free to call me if you need anything!” After that, he turned and left.

Once he was alone, Charlie remained dazed. He felt uncertain about accepting the compensation from the Wade Family.

But after some reflection, he realized he had endured more than ten years of hardship and humiliation while living under the Wilson Family’s roof. This was just the compensation the Wade Family owed him. Why shouldn’t he accept it?

Moreover, Mrs. Lewis’s medical costs still needed two million dollars and that was urgent.

With this in mind, he steeled himself and returned to the cashier. “Hello, I’d like to pay the two million dollars.”

He swiped the card, entered the password and the transaction went through without a hitch.

The two million dollars transferred easily to the hospital’s account.

Charlie felt bewildered. Had he really just become a billionaire?

He returned home, still in a haze.

The household was in turmoil at that moment.

Claire and her parents had moved out of the Wilson Family Villa and were now living in a very ordinary building.

Ever since Claire had married him and Mr. Wilson had passed away, they had been kicked out.

His mother-in-law was angrily lamenting, “Charlie, you useless waste! You humiliated our family today! If you don’t divorce him, your grandmother might throw you out of the Wilson Group!”

Claire responded, “If she does, I’ll just find another job.”

“What?” His mother-in-law exclaimed, furious, “What’s so good about that waste? Why not just divorce him and marry Wendell Jones? If you marry Wendell Jones, our family will finally have something to be proud of!”

His father-in-law chimed in, “Exactly! Marrying Wendell Jones would elevate our status in your grandmother’s eyes and she’d rush to win your favor.”

Claire insisted, “Stop it! I won’t divorce Charlie.”

“You stubborn child!”

The couple was about to persuade her again when Charlie pushed the door open.

Seeing him, his in-laws wore unhappy expressions.

His mother-in-law scoffed, “You waste of space! How dare you show your face here!”

Charlie sighed inwardly. If only she knew he was now the owner of the Emgrand Group and had 10 billion in cash, how would she react?

However, he wasn’t ready to reveal his true identity just yet.

He had been away from the Wade Family for many years. Who knew what the family dynamics were like now? What if someone turned against him? So, keeping a low profile was wise.

He looked down and said apologetically, “I’m sorry for causing trouble today, Mom.”

His mother-in-law shot back, “You’re not just causing trouble, you’re ruining our family! Can’t you have some self-awareness and just leave?”

Claire interjected quickly, “Mom, how can you speak like that? Charlie is your son-in-law!”

“Absolute nonsense!” His mother-in-law shouted. “I refuse to accept a useless son-in-law! The farther away he is, the better!”

Claire pushed Charlie, urging, “Go back to your room.”

Charlie nodded gratefully and retreated to his room. He and Claire had been married for three years, yet they hadn’t been intimate at all. Claire slept on the bed while he lay on the floor beside her.

That night, Charlie found it hard to sleep.

What had happened that day was simply too overwhelming and he couldn’t process it all.

Before settling in for the night, Claire turned to him, “How is Mrs. Lewis? I still have over 100,000 in personal funds. You can take it to her tomorrow.”

Charlie replied, “That’s not necessary, someone has already taken care of Mrs. Lewis’s expenses and sent her to Eastcliff for treatment.”

“Really?” Claire asked, surprised. “Is Mrs. Lewis going to be okay?”

“Yes.” Charlie confirmed. “Mrs. Lewis has lived a good life, helping many people along the way. Now, someone is finally repaying her kindness.”

“That’s a relief.” Claire said with a nod. “You can relax now.”

“Yes.” Replied Charlie.

Claire added, “I need to get some sleep. There are so many issues at the company lately and I’m exhausted.”

Charlie couldn’t help but ask, “What’s going on with the company?”

Claire explained, “Business hasn’t been great. Grandma has always wanted to partner with a big company like Emgrand Group, but the Wilson family is still too weak and doesn’t get taken seriously.”

Charlie suddenly thought of the Emgrand Group and asked her, “So the Wilson family hasn’t managed to partner with the Emgrand Group yet?”

Claire chuckled self-deprecatingly, “How could the Emgrand Group respect the Wilson Family? Even Wendy’s fiance, Gerald White, can barely manage a connection with them. Grandma is banking on the White family to help us get in touch with the Emgrand Group after they marry.”

Charlie nodded.

So, the Wilson family was desperately seeking a way to collaborate with Emgrand Group.

However, Lady Wilson would never imagine that the Emgrand Group now belonged to him…

With this realization, Charlie decided to take over the Emgrand Group first and then provide Claire with support through it. She had faced too much bullying within the Wilson family and as her husband, it was his responsibility to help elevate her status.

Claire, from this day forward, your husband will be someone entirely different!
