The Amazing Son In Law Chapter 98
Harold looked down on Charlie without hesitation. He also held a grudge against Claire, who was the company’s director at that time.
When he saw the couple visiting Thompson First to look at homes, he seized the moment to mock them.
Upon hearing Harold criticize him and his wife, Charlie immediately scoffed, “Why not? If someone like you can come to Thompson First to view houses, what’s stopping us?”
Harold retorted with disdain, “I can come because my Family can afford it. Can you even buy a house here, you pathetic loser?”
Charlie laughed, “How do you know I can’t afford it?”
Harold scoffed, “You think you can? Do you have any idea how much these houses cost? The smallest one is 120 square meters, at over 80,000 per square meter, totaling around 10 million. Do you have 10 million?”
Charlie chuckled, “I wouldn’t bother buying the smallest house. If I were to buy, I’d go for the largest one.”
“Ha!” Harold scoffed coldly, “The largest one is 240 square meters. You? Really?”
Wendy joined in with a laugh, saying, “Right, Charlie, can you really afford a 240-square-meter house? Even our Family can’t manage such a large space; how could you?”
Charlie turned to her with a smile and asked, “Who said I wanted a 240-square-meter house?”
Wendy shot back with contempt, “Why? Didn’t you say you wanted the biggest one? Are you backing out now?”
Charlie laughed and said, “Wendy, you’re so clueless. Can’t you see that there’s a large Villa area displayed on this sand table? The villas here are the biggest homes available.”
“Ha!” Wendy dismissed him, “Villas? The smallest starts at tens of millions and the pricier ones go into the hundreds of millions. A loser like you wouldn’t be able to afford it in a lifetime!”
Charlie grinned and said, “What a coincidence, I happen to own one and it’s the largest!”
“Hahaha!” Harold’s Family laughed uproariously, pointing at Charlie with derision, “You bought the biggest Villa? Oh my God, are you trying to make us die of laughter?”
Nearby customers overheard Charlie and began to mock him, “He looks like a pathetic loser and he thinks he can buy a Villa?”
“If he can afford this Villa, then I can buy the entire Thompson First community!”
“You’re just talking nonsense!”
Claire felt a bit embarrassed and whispered to Charlie, “Charlie! What are you saying? Aren’t you worried about making a fool of yourself?”
Charlie smiled and replied, “What’s embarrassing about speaking the truth?”
Harold laughed triumphantly, “Did you hear that? Even your own wife doesn’t believe you. The public’s eyes see clearly. People like you shouldn’t even be allowed in this sales hall!”
Then he added maliciously, “Just wait, I’ll ask the sales lady to throw you out!”
With that, Harold called over a sales lady, pointed at Charlie, and said, “Excuse me, why did you let this worthless loser in? He shamelessly claims he wants to buy the most expensive Villa. People like him make it awkward for those of us who can actually buy a house!”
The sales lady glanced at Charlie and noted his plain appearance, he looked nothing like a wealthy person.
He didn’t even compare to the customers looking to buy the smallest three-bedroom apartments, who were all dressed better than he was.
Others around began to complain, “Get this guy out of here. He’s ruining our experience.”
The sales lady approached Charlie and said, “Sir, if you’re not interested in purchasing a house, please leave and don’t disturb the other customers.”
Claire sighed, tugging at Charlie’s sleeve, “Let’s go, let’s move on.”
Others chimed in, “Get lost, poor guy. Don’t embarrass yourself any further.”
Charlie remained still, smiling as he said, “Do you know why you can’t afford to live in a Villa? Because you’re all short-sighted. With your limited vision, you’ll never be able to buy a Villa in this lifetime.”
Harold spat, “Ha! Charlie, you have the nerve to say that? Every one of them is richer than you!”
Charlie raised an eyebrow and asked playfully, “Harold, you keep insisting I can’t afford a Villa, but what if I actually can?”
Harold laughed, then pointed to the tallest building on the sand table and declared arrogantly, “If you can buy a Villa here, I Harold will jump off the roof of that building!”
Many people around shouted, “You pathetic loser, if you can buy it, I’ll jump too!”
“Right! Count me in too! I can’t stand this kind of pretentious fool!”
Claire felt more embarrassed than ever and criticized Charlie softly, saying, “Charlie! Why do you have to argue with them? Do you need to make a fool of yourself to feel good?”
Charlie smiled calmly and said, “Wife, how do you know that your husband will be humiliated?”
As he spoke, Charlie pulled out the key and information card for the Villa from his pocket and said nonchalantly, “Look, this is the key and information card for Villa A05.”
Wendy laughed and said, “Charlie, do you think waving around a key will convince us? You think we’re that gullible?”
Charlie tossed the key and information card to the sales lady and said coolly, “Here, check if this is legitimate.”
The sales lady quickly recognized the key and card Charlie had produced. At first glance, she realized they were exclusively for the Thompson First Villa District. She was taken aback.
Could it be that this man is actually the owner of a Villa? I was just about to kick him out… if he truly is the owner and gets angry, I could lose my job!
Realizing this, she hastily took Charlie’s card and scanned it in the internal reader. The reader chimed, “Hello, Mr. Wade, owner of Building A05. Welcome home!”
The sales lady gasped, “Are you Mr. Wade?”
“Yes.” Charlie nodded, noting that the Villa gifted to him by the White Family was now officially under his name.
The sales lady quickly returned the card to Charlie with both hands, respect etched on her face, and said in a flustered tone, “Mr. Wade, I’m so sorry, I didn’t realize you were the esteemed owner of Building A05. Please forgive the previous misunderstanding.”
Everyone present was left speechless by the unfolding scene.
Charlie is actually the owner here? Is this real? Can someone like him really afford a Villa in Thompson First?
Harold’s face turned an ugly shade. What the heck! Charlie bought a Villa in Thompson First? I would sooner believe in ghosts than accept that Charlie could pull this off!
But what about this sales lady? She wouldn’t lie, would she?
And she just confirmed Charlie’s ownership by scanning his card…
What’s happening?
