Seeing such an extravagant ceremony, Jane Wolfe was taken aback, wondering if the impoverished man had actually called in some favors. But then she dismissed the thought—there was no way someone like him could possibly know someone this influential.

Stephen Thompson stepped out of the third Rolls-Royce and walked into the Emerald Court, prompting Jane Wolfe to quickly stand and greet him. However, Stephen Thompson ignored her entirely and made a beeline for Charlie.

“Master, I’ve arrived with the funds,” Stephen Thompson announced, gesturing for the bodyguard behind him to enter the Emerald Court. The bodyguard placed a box filled with cash on the ground and opened it.

Charlie replied coldly, “You brought this upon yourself.”

The middle-aged man was terrified when he saw her grabbing Charlie’s legs and rushed over, kicking her in the head while cursing, “Do you think you can touch the Young Master’s legs? I’ll take you down!”

With that kick, Jane Wolfe fell unconscious.

The middle-aged man ordered the security guard beside him, “Get rid of this worthless creature! Throw her in the trash behind the building!”

Then he told Stephen Thompson, “You can take the cash back.”

Charlie replied, “I don’t need your charity.”

The middle-aged man pleaded, “Master, just consider it a small token of my appreciation. Please accept it!”

Charlie pondered for a moment and then nodded slightly, “Alright, I accept, thank you.”

Relief washed over the middle-aged man as Charlie accepted the jade necklace.

If Charlie had refused, he genuinely feared Stephen Thompson would take matters into his own hands. With his influence, he could easily make him vanish without a trace.

At this point, Stephen Thompson asked Charlie, “Do you want me to escort you out?”

“No, it’s fine,” Charlie waved his hand dismissively. “Where’s the back door? I can find my way.”
