The Amazing Son In Law Chapter 13

When Claire exited the Wilson Group, a wave of excitement washed over her.

Tomorrow, her grandmother would officially announce her new appointment, and she would finally have something to boast about!

With this thought in mind, she turned to Charlie and said, “Charlie, thank you! If it weren’t for your support, I wouldn’t have dared to take on this task.”

Charlie beamed and replied, “Wife, you absolutely deserve this.”

Then, Charlie added, “By the way, since it’s such a wonderful occasion, do you want to celebrate?”

Claire nodded eagerly, “How do you suggest we celebrate?”

Charlie grinned and suggested, “It’s almost our third wedding anniversary. Why don’t we celebrate it together? I’ll take care of the preparations—no need for you to worry about a thing.”

Claire was surprised and asked, “Are you planning to surprise me?”

“Absolutely!” Charlie confirmed with a smile, “I just want to prepare a special surprise for you!”

Feeling a flutter of sweetness in her heart, Claire replied, “Then I won’t pry into the details!”

Charlie said, “There’s no need to ask—just wait and see!”

To create a meaningful anniversary celebration for his wife, Charlie brainstormed several ideas in his mind.

Essentially, his plans were intended as a way to make up for the past. After all, he had been poor before and couldn’t afford to buy gifts for her, nor could he give her a proper wedding. Now that he had the means, he was determined to make it up to her.

After parting ways with Claire, Charlie headed to a jewelry store named Emerald Court located in the heart of Aurous Hill.

Emerald Court was known as the most prestigious jewelry store in the area.

They offered an extensive collection, including gold, platinum, diamonds, jade, and jadeite.

Charlie’s plan was to choose a gift for his wife first before booking a belated wedding at the finest hotel.

Upon arriving at Emerald Court, the sales associates noticed his four-bar Adidas outfit and seemed too disinterested to assist him.

After browsing for a while, Charlie spotted a beautiful jade necklace displayed behind a glass cabinet.

Crafted from top-grade ice jadeite, the necklace exhibited an elegant charm that perfectly suited Claire’s temperament.

When Charlie checked the price, he saw it was 13 million—well within his budget.

He called over a salesperson and requested, “Hello, could you please take this necklace out for me to inspect?”

The salesperson glanced at him and replied, “I don’t have the key. It should be with our manager.”

Then, she spoke into her intercom, “Manager Wolfe, we have a customer who wishes to see our prized item!”

Moments later, an elegantly dressed woman, Jane Wolfe, arrived eagerly. She was the sales manager at the store.

“Which esteemed guest wishes to see our treasure?” she inquired.

The salesperson gestured toward Charlie and replied, “Manager Wolfe, it’s this gentleman here.”

“What?” Jane Wolfe’s expression shifted to one of disgust, as if she had bitten into something unpleasant.

How could such a lowly person possibly afford the store’s prized item?

Thinking quickly, she snapped at the male salesperson, “Russ Keith, are you kidding me?”

He responded, “No, this gentleman genuinely wants to see the store’s treasure.”

Jane retorted, “A loser like him couldn’t buy the store’s treasure! Are you blind? If you are, just admit it and get out of here before you make me furious!”

Jane Wolfe prided herself on her ability to assess people’s worth at a glance.

In her eyes, Charlie was nothing more than a penniless loser.

She firmly believed that he couldn’t afford the 13 million item, let alone an ordinary piece priced at 1,300 dollars!

Wasn’t this just a waste of everyone’s time?

The male salesperson remained silent, cowed by her outburst. Charlie frowned and questioned, “Aren’t you open for business? I want to see this necklace, what’s the issue?”

Jane Wolfe sneered, “We are open for business, but we don’t cater to idiots. If you can’t afford it, don’t waste our time!”

Charlie frowned and retorted, “What makes you think I can’t afford it?”

“Haha!”

Jane Wolfe scoffed with disdain, “This piece of jade is worth tens of millions. How could you possibly afford it? I know what you’re up to—you just want me to take a photo for you to flaunt on WeChat!”

As she spoke, she crossed her arms defiantly, exuding arrogance and contempt.

Upon hearing that the jade was worth tens of millions, bystanders began to point and whisper condescendingly, “What a shameless person. He can’t afford it but still wants to see it — what’s he thinking?”

“Right? Doesn’t he know his place? With that outfit, he doesn’t deserve to look at such high-grade jade!”

“Seriously, there are too many people like this these days!”

Charlie noticed Jane Wolfe sneering at him from behind the counter, and he decided it was time to teach this arrogant saleswoman a lesson!

He pulled out his phone and called Stephen Thompson.

“Meet me at Emerald Court with 13 million in cash, and I want to see you here in ten minutes.”

“Understood, Young Master. I’ll be there right away.”

Jane Wolfe rolled her eyes and laughed, “You must be joking! Thirteen million in cash? I’ve never seen that much cash in my life! I hope you can show me! You do realize that for any cash amount over one million, you need to make arrangements with the bank first, right? Hahaha, how amusing!”

Charlie replied calmly, “Well, since you haven’t seen that much cash, you will soon.”

The onlookers continued to chatter.

“Being poor isn’t the issue, the problem is pretending to be wealthy…”

“Haha, this guy looks nothing like a rich person, and he says he has thirteen million? If he can pull out three hundred thousand, I’ll call him dad!”

“I just want to see what thirteen million in cash actually looks like!”

Encouraged by the crowd, Jane Wolfe smiled smugly. If he didn’t show up with cash, she couldn’t wait to see how he’d embarrass himself.

A few minutes later, several Rolls-Royce cars pulled up in front of Emerald Court.

From the two Rolls-Royce cars in the lead, eight well-built bodyguards in sharp black suits emerged.

They carried black suitcases, their expressions serious, and the atmosphere around them became instantly more intense.

This spectacle left everyone in the Emerald Court utterly stunned!

Who was this important figure? How could they make such a grand entrance!
