Feeling a flutter of sweetness in her heart, Claire replied, “Then I won’t pry into the details!”

Thinking quickly, she snapped at the male salesperson, “Russ Keith, are you kidding me?”
He responded, “No, this gentleman genuinely wants to see the store’s treasure.”
Jane retorted, “A loser like him couldn’t buy the store’s treasure! Are you blind? If you are, just admit it and get out of here before you make me furious!”
Jane Wolfe prided herself on her ability to assess people’s worth at a glance.
In her eyes, Charlie was nothing more than a penniless loser.
She firmly believed that he couldn’t afford the 13 million item, let alone an ordinary piece priced at 1,300 dollars!
Wasn’t this just a waste of everyone’s time?
The male salesperson remained silent, cowed by her outburst. Charlie frowned and questioned, “Aren’t you open for business? I want to see this necklace, what’s the issue?”

Lady Wilson replied coldly, “You know that I have devoted my life to Buddhism and sworn by the heavens. How dare you even think of breaking your promise?!”
“Grandma…”
Harold felt true panic, as he could see that his grandmother was genuinely angry!
Seeing Harold willing to forsake an oath that was tied to life and death for his own pride, Lady Wilson slammed her hand on the table and shouted furiously, “Are you truly willing to break your oath?”
“Grandma, I…” Harold hesitated, quickly weighing his options in his mind.
If he honored the bet and kowtowed to Charlie to admit his mistake, he would lose face.
But if he chose not to honor the bet and angered his grandmother, he would forfeit everything he had within the Wilson family!
Considering that, even though it pained him, he finally gritted his teeth and said, “Fine! I’ll accept defeat!”

“Mr. Wade?” Claire frowned, thinking aloud, “I don’t believe I know anyone by that surname besides my husband.”

Casually glancing up, Charlie noticed a young man and woman getting out of the car.
The man was dressed in a high-end suit, looking quite dapper, while the woman was flamboyantly dressed. Though her attire was a bit over the top, she was undeniably beautiful.
To Charlie’s surprise, it was Claire’s cousin, Wendy, accompanied by her fiance, Gerald White, the eldest son of the White family.
Charlie couldn’t quite figure out what Wendy and Gerald were doing at the Emgrand Group, so he decided it was best to avoid them.
However, things took a turn for the worse when Wendy, with her sharp eyes, spotted him and exclaimed loudly, “Oh, brother-in-law!”
Though Wendy called him brother-in-law in a cheerful manner, it gave Charlie a headache as her words echoed in his ears.
Out of politeness, he paused and waited for them to approach, smiling as he greeted, “Wendy, what brings you here?”

Gerald chuckled and said, “Even though you’re pathetic, since we’re family, I should at least look out for you. I have some connections with the Vice Chairman of Emgrand Group, do you want me to put in a good word for you about a toilet cleaning job?”
Charlie shot back with a cold smile, “You don’t need to worry about the type of job I’m seeking. You should be more concerned about yourself. Emgrand Group is a significant company. I seriously doubt they’d want to collaborate with someone as lowly as you.”
Furious, Gerald spat, “Who are you calling lowly?”
Charlie retorted with disdain, “You, obviously!”
With that, he lost interest in the confrontation and proceeded into the Emgrand Group Building.
“Hey, stop right there!” Gerald quickly followed him and caught up at the elevator entrance.
He had wanted to teach this Charlie Wade a lesson, perhaps even give him a few slaps to show him the consequences of crossing him.
But seeing that they were already inside the Emgrand Group Building, he feared taking action here might upset his business partners, so he reluctantly shelved his plans for revenge.
Through gritted teeth, he warned, “I’ll let you off today, but next time won’t be so easy!”
Charlie merely snorted, stepping into the elevator as he remarked, “Gerald White, do you honestly think you’re so impressive? You’ll soon learn the cost of your arrogance!”
“Darn you…” Gerald lunged forward, about to storm into the elevator after him.
