The Amazing Son In Law Chapter 29

Charlie was slightly taken aback to hear that Harold had booked Heaven Springs. What a coincidence! Didn’t Don Albert mention that he had opened Heaven Springs? It seemed Harold had arranged a banquet for himself there, didn’t it?

At that moment, Gerald White, who was beside him, exclaimed in surprise, “Harold, you managed to book the golden box at Heaven Springs? That’s not something just anyone can secure!”

Harold smiled with pride and replied, “To be honest, aside from the top diamond box, which I truly can’t get, the others are really quite accessible.”

However, this was merely Harold boasting. In reality, to secure the golden box, Lady Wilson had personally stepped in, paid a substantial sum, and gathered several people to successfully book it.

Loreen, having heard of Heaven Springs’ reputation in Eastcliff, quickly interjected, “We’re all friends here; there’s no need to be so extravagant.”

Harold flattered her, saying, “You’re our esteemed guest; how can we treat you the same as an ordinary friend?”

He then turned to Charlie and asked, “Brother-in-law, where did you book the banquet?”

Charlie replied casually, “What a coincidence, I also booked Heaven Springs.”

“Hahaha!” Harold laughed boisterously, “Charlie, you really think you can brag without hurting yourself? With your status, you can’t even secure the lowest bronze box at Heaven Springs, and yet you dare to boast.”

Charlie smiled nonchalantly and said, “Whether I’m boasting or not, what does it concern you? I’m not inviting you to dinner, so why are you so bothered?”

Harold retorted coldly, “Tsk, I can just tell you won’t even be allowed in the door of Heaven Springs!”

Loreen felt sympathy for Charlie as she observed him being targeted. She knew he was a son-in-law with no wealth or status in the Wilson family, and it was unrealistic for him to claim he would be welcomed at a top hotel. She guessed he was only trying to save face, so to avoid embarrassing him further, she said, “Oh, there’s no need for us to argue about this. Since we all booked the same place, let’s just go together.”

Harold sarcastically assured Charlie, “Alright, for Loreen’s sake, I’ll let you join me for a meal today, so you can see what a high-end hotel looks like!”

Charlie scoffed and laughed, dismissing him. Don Albert would kneel in his presence—what was Harold’s hotel to him? It was a pity Harold, being a loser, was blinded by the leaf in front of him!

Heaven Springs is an ancient Chinese hotel adorned with traditional classical charm and extravagant luxury; even the sign at the entrance is carved from top-grade rosewood.

As Charlie admired the interior decor of Heaven Springs, he was pleasantly surprised. He hadn’t expected Don Albert’s establishment to be this impressive. He thought to himself that he should bring his wife here to enjoy it sometime in the future.

Loreen looked around in awe and exclaimed, “I’ve heard so much about the reputation of Heaven Springs while in Eastcliff. It truly lives up to its name!”

Harold grinned and remarked, “Loreen, now that you’re here, we must treat you at the finest hotel.”

He then shot a disdainful glance at Charlie, sneering, “Unlike some people, if it weren’t for you, they’d probably never have a chance to visit such an upscale hotel in their lives.”

At that moment, Wendy feigned curiosity and asked, “Charlie, didn’t you also book a private room at Heaven Springs? Which one is it? Show us so we can be impressed!”

Charlie replied mildly, “I can’t quite recall which one it is. I just sent a text to their boss to arrange it. Let me check my message history.”

Harold scoffed derisively, “Do you even know who the boss here is? You’re just spouting nonsense. The boss is the renowned Don Albert. You better hope he doesn’t hear you talking like that; he could make you regret it.”

At that moment, Charlie opened his phone and reviewed the message from Don Albert he received the previous night. With a calm demeanor, he said, “He mentioned he reserved a diamond box for me.”

Harold burst into laughter upon hearing this, “Hahaha… A diamond box? Charlie, you’re going to make me die of laughter. Do you have any idea who gets to enter the diamond box? No more than ten people in Aurous Hill are qualified to go in! You’re nothing!”

Loreen remained silent but couldn’t help thinking that Charlie was overly concerned with appearances. How could someone of his standing possibly secure a diamond box? She had initially thought he was simply poor and powerless, but now she saw him as someone vain and desperate for validation. It was truly disappointing!

Charlie smiled but said nothing. To him, those mocking him were just foolish people looking down on others, and he was too uninterested to engage them.

Gerald White added sarcastically, “Charlie, even my father isn’t qualified to dine in the diamond box. You really dare to boast!”

Wendy chimed in, “Gerald, someone like him isn’t even worthy of eating the leftovers from the diamond box!”

Charlie glanced at Gerald White and sneered inwardly. This fool had no idea that Don Albert had knocked out his brother just yesterday, and he dared to come to his restaurant now?

Deliberately, he asked, “Gerald, I heard something happened to your brother yesterday?”

Gerald White frowned and replied, “How do you know that?”

He continued, “My brother was attacked yesterday and is still unconscious. We’re searching for whoever did this so we can deal with them! Do you know anything about it?”

Charlie shrugged, feigning ignorance. “I don’t know; I just heard he ran into trouble, but I don’t know the specifics.”

“Humph!” Gerald White spat contemptuously, “You useless person, don’t talk about my family’s affairs behind my back. If you do it again, watch how I handle you!”

Charlie merely smiled, ignoring the threat. It was evident that ignorance ran in their family!

He found it amusing that Gerald didn’t even know his own brother was taken out by Don Albert.

Just then, a man in black approached the group with purpose. Charlie recognized him as one of the bodyguards serving Don Albert.

The man spotted Charlie and his expression shifted to one of eagerness and flattery, almost bowing to him immediately.

Charlie quickly shook his head at him.

The bodyguard halted, thinking that Mr. Wade preferred not to attract too much attention, and said directly, “Dear guests, please follow me; your box has been prepared for you.”

Harold was taken aback. When did the golden box at Heaven Springs have such attentive service? Even before providing his name, someone was already there to greet him in person.

It was truly a matter of face!

Gerald White sighed from the side, “Harold, you seem to be quite esteemed. I think he’s close to Don Albert. It seems Don Albert really values you. How come you haven’t mentioned knowing him? You sure are low-key.”

Harold laughed proudly, “There’s no need to show off about this kind of thing. It’s better to maintain a low profile! Hahahaha!”
