Daniel Koch brought Claire into his office and once he closed the door, a burning desire flickered in his eyes. He quietly locked the door and gestured for Claire to sit on the sofa.
Claire appeared somewhat uncomfortable, sitting across from him with her hands nervously twisted together.
Daniel smiled and asked, “Miss. Wilson, did you come to discuss a potential collaboration with me today?”
Feeling a bit sheepish, Claire replied, “To be honest, Mr. Koch, our Wilson Group has been experiencing some cash flow issues lately and I wanted to ask if we could purchase a batch of building materials on credit.”
“On credit?” Daniel responded with an awkward expression. “Miss. Wilson, you should know our Elite Vault Enterprise’s stance. We don’t engage in credit transactions, we require payment up front before dispatching materials…”
“I understand,” Claire said apologetically. “I really don’t have any other options. But please rest assured, we have a partnership with Emgrand Group, which is the largest enterprise in Aurous Hill. They will definitely honor their payments for our project. Once the payment is received on time, we will immediately settle our due payment with you!”
Daniel chuckled lightly and said, “That sounds good in theory, but Miss. Wilson, it’s not personal. Do you know why I instituted the no-credit policy?”
Claire shook her head. “No, I don’t.”
Daniel explained, “I used to be quite accommodating. When customers wanted to take goods first and pay later, I agreed, hoping to foster business relationships. They all promised that once their client paid, they would make payments to us promptly. But what was the outcome? I ended up losing over 300 million in unpaid goods!”
“Three hundred million?” Claire was taken aback by that staggering figure.
The total assets of the entire Wilson Group only amount to a little over 100 million. It was surprising to learn that Daniel was unable to collect more than 300 million from other partners!
Daniel sighed, “It leaves me no choice. Those partners who refuse to pay always use the same excuses, claiming they will pay soon, but they never do.”
Shaking his head, Daniel said, “In the end, I had no choice but to halt all credit arrangements. You can take the goods I have plenty available, but they must be paid for in advance.”
Claire looked visibly disappointed. It seemed that this matter couldn’t be negotiated. Yet, she understood that given their policy, she couldn’t persuade them to abandon it. So, she stood up and said, “I’m really sorry, Mr. Koch. I’ll go back and tell my grandmother that it’s best if we gather the funds soon to work with you.”
Seeing her rising to leave, Daniel quickly interjected, “Wait! Miss. Wilson, don’t worry!”
He stood up hurriedly and continued, “What I just said applies to ordinary partners, but for you, Miss. Wilson, things can be considered differently!”
Claire, feeling confused, asked, “Mr. Koch, what do you mean?”
Daniel narrowed his eyes, looking at Claire with blatant longing.

Excited by the prospect, Claire hurried back to her seat and asked eagerly, “Mr. Koch, are you willing to provide us with building materials on credit?”
Daniel intentionally left his answer vague, saying, “If it were anyone else, I would definitely refuse outright, but for you, Miss. Wilson, I can consider it…”
Claire eagerly stated, “In reality, our relationship with Emgrand Group is quite close. If you extend credit for the building materials, we can pay you immediately after receiving the first batch from Emgrand.”

He stood up and retrieved a teapot from the cabinet.
