The Amazing Son In Law Chapter 69

The young man was struck and felt a wave of dizziness wash over him, nearly losing his balance.

The people nearby were startled by the sudden violence involving the wine bottle.

Harold looked at the young man, whose face was bleeding, and sneered, “If you don’t get out of here, I’ll break your legs!”

Clenching his teeth, the young man protected his head and replied, “Fine, you’ve got guts. Just wait for me!”

With that, he hurriedly covered his injured head and fled from the scene.

Harold disdainfully laughed, saying, “What an idiot a loser dares to threaten me? He should know who I am Harold who would fear a fool like him?”

He then turned to Loreen with a smug expression and said, “Loreen, there are plenty of pests like him everywhere. Don’t let him bother you. Let’s keep eating and not worry about him.”

Loreen felt put off by the disturbance and simply nodded, offering no further comment.

Throughout the meal, Harold made multiple attempts to lighten the mood, but Loreen completely ignored him.

In her eyes, Harold was not just incompetent but also rather reckless. A man like that didn’t interest her at all.

Harold believed that if he confronted that fool in front of Loreen, it would impress her with his bravery. To his dismay, it seemed to only push her further away and provoke her disgust.

This left him feeling particularly frustrated. To think, Loreen didn’t appreciate men who resorted to violence. What a miscalculation!

Harold was especially disheartened as the meal progressed.

Right after finishing, he wanted to extend the conversation with Loreen to strengthen their connection.

However, she frowned and stated, “It’s getting late I have to head back. Thank you for the hospitality.”

Feeling downcast, Harold said, “Then let me drive you!”

Loreen shook her head, “No, I’ll just take a taxi.”

At that moment, she simply wanted to distance herself from Harold as quickly as possible.

Fuming, Harold insisted, “I’ll at least take you to your car. I won’t feel right otherwise.”

Loreen didn’t refuse, nodded and stood up to leave.

Harold quickly followed her. His mind was clouded with anger as he had hoped to create a romantic atmosphere and possibly confess to Loreen. Instead, that jerk’s interruption had ruined everything and left a bad impression. What bad luck!

“Just don’t let me run into that loser again. If I do, I swear I’ll make him pay,” Harold muttered angrily.

Meanwhile, Charlie had just finished his meal and was tidying up the dishes.

Claire anxiously interrupted, “Charlie, do you have the supplier quotation document from my bag?”

Charlie shook his head, “I haven’t touched your bag since being back.”

Claire thought for a moment, then slapped her forehead, “Oh no, I must have left it in the meeting room at Emgrand Group. I need it by tomorrow morning. Can you drive me to get it?”

Charlie smiled and replied, “You’ve worked hard, so go ahead and rest. I’ll go get it for you.”

Claire sighed, “I’m really exhausted. Thank you for your kindness. The file number is GY20191101.”

Charlie waved dismissively, “It’s nothing. Helping my wife is no trouble at all.”

With that, Charlie drove to the Wilson Group.

At that very moment, Harold and Loreen had just exited the restaurant and stepped onto the street.

As Loreen was about to hail a taxi, three white vans suddenly pulled up, from which a dozen strong men emerged, rushing at them aggressively.

All of them were wearing black masks and wielding steel pipes, clearly seeking revenge!

“This is bad!” Harold felt sheer panic as he saw the wave of people charging toward him.

Loreen’s face drained of color as she realized these must be the young man’s friends, and judging by their demeanor, someone was likely going to get hurt!

Sure enough, a young man with a bandaged head yelled, “You scum, beat him!”

As soon as he finished, the gang lunged at Harold.

“I’m the Young Master of the Wilson family! How dare you touch me!” Harold shouted in a panic, trying to sound tough.

One burly man smirked scornfully and approached him, steel pipe raised.

Harold was terrified, nearly losing control of his bladder.

In that moment of desperation, Harold instinctively pushed Loreen out of the way, causing her to scream as she stumbled in front of him.

Taking advantage of the chaos, Harold dashed to his car, flung the door open, hopped inside, and sped off without a moment’s hesitation.

Loreen was utterly furious!

What type of jerk pushes a woman out of the way to save himself?

He had caused this trouble, yet when things got serious, he used her as a human shield and fled?

Was there really anyone as despicable as him in this world?

Watching Harold abandon her, the young man cursed in frustration.

“What a coward! You left a woman behind and ran away! Pathetic!”

He then turned his cold gaze to Loreen and demanded, “Miss, call that jerk back. Otherwise, don’t blame me for being rough with you!”

Loreen quickly replied, “I barely know him. Please don’t drag me into this!”

The young man jabbed a finger at his bandaged head and growled, “Great, I’ve got sixteen stitches up here. I can’t be at peace until I get my revenge! If he doesn’t come to help you, you can come with me for the night as compensation!”

“You can’t do this! It’s illegal!” Loreen protested.

“Illegal?” He shot back coldly, “I make the laws around here! Once we’re done, you’ll understand what real lawlessness is!”

Loreen felt ice in her veins, her heart heavy with fear and despair.

Desperately, she spoke, “I’ll call him right now!”

She quickly took out her cell phone and dialed Harold.

As he sped away, Charlie was desperately trying to put distance between himself and the danger when he noticed Loreen’s call coming through. His heart sank.

This was it! He’d just pushed her away, she had to be furious with him!

What terrible luck! He had hoped to charm her and connect with the Thomas family to elevate his own standing.

Now, he had really messed things up with Loreen!

But how could he answer the phone now?

Picking up meant she wanted him to return and even a fool could see that. But would he survive if he went back? Those men were furious, armed with steel pipes. There was a high chance they would leave him severely injured if they didn’t outright kill him.

Women are important, but his life came first!

He decided to keep driving and ignore the call!

Meanwhile, Loreen could not get through to Harold and felt a wave of despair wash over her.

She pleaded with the young man, “I can make amends! Just please let me go, this really isn’t my fault.”

The young man grinned maliciously, “I don’t want your money! I want you!”

Loreen was terrified. She knew she had to think quickly or this man wouldn’t let her go.

Taking advantage of his moment of distraction, she steeled herself and kicked him between the legs.

Caught by surprise, the young man howled in agony, instinctively striking out with a knife as he stumbled back.

In her attempt to escape, Loreen felt a sharp pain in her thigh and cried out, collapsing to the ground.

The dagger had lodged into her leg, blood oozing out.

“Stupid woman, you thought you could run away!” The young man seethed, yanking her hair and sneering “Congratulations, you’ve made me angry. My friends and I will take great pleasure in dealing with you tonight!”

Tears streamed down Loreen’s face in despair.

Deep down, she knew she was facing a grim fate. This young man would not let her go, and the fear that she might actually die at his hands settled in. She thought all hope was lost…

What she failed to notice was that a black BMW was slowly approaching. Charlie, behind the wheel, spotted her and frowned in concern!
