The Amazing Son In Law Chapter 70
Loreen felt a sharp pain in her legs and she was engulfed by despair as tears streamed down her face.
The young man looked at her tear-streaked beautiful face with a twisted sense of desire, gulping hard before ordering, “Put her in the car!”
Nearby, someone chimed in, “Mr. Westbrook, when do we get a turn with this beauty?”
The young man replied coldly, “Once I’m finished, I’ll let you have your chance!”
After saying that, he reached out to grab her and throw her into the car.
At that moment, a series of heartbreaking screams erupted outside!
“Ah!”
A chorus of cries filled the air.
Angrily, the young man shouted, “What’s going on?”
But as he lifted his head, a sudden gust of wind hit his face!
Before he could react, a sharp pain seared across his face, stars dancing before his eyes as his nose cracked with a sickening sound and blood poured from it.
Feeling as though he had been struck by a hammer, he fell back, screaming in agony.
As he collapsed, he noticed several of his accomplices sprawled on the ground like lifeless bodies.
Loreen looked up in terror, her beautiful eyes widening in astonishment.
Before her stood a man in a black mask, his gaze as cold as steel.
Surprised and relieved, Loreen thought, Who is this man? Is he here to rescue me? He must be here to save me!
The young man lay on the ground, blood-smeared and unable to rise.
This man moved so quickly, taking down four of them in the blink of an eye. The remaining masked men were momentarily stunned before rushing toward him, roaring and calling for reinforcements.
“You! Who are you?” Loreen asked, sitting on the ground as she looked up at him.
The man didn’t respond but quickly scooped her up and dashed deeper into the alley.
Loreen gasped for breath, her heart racing as shock coursed through her.
The shouts of the pursuing men and the roar of motorcycles echoed behind them, closing in.
As the wind whipped past her face, Loreen, having lost too much blood, clung tightly to the man.
For some inexplicable reason, she felt a sense of familiarity about his presence.
Little did she know that the mysterious man was actually her best friend’s husband, Charlie.
Charlie had been passing by and spotted Loreen being surrounded.
Fearing for her safety, he had donned a mask to rescue her.
Empowered by the aura he gained from the white stone, Charlie’s abilities had significantly improved, allowing him to move faster than ever before.
With the many alleys in the area, Charlie quickly lost their pursuers behind him.
After running a considerable distance, he finally stopped in a secluded part of a park.
As darkness descended, the lush vegetation around them provided cover, even if their pursuers caught up.
He gently set Loreen down and noticed her pants stained with blood, his expression instantly hardening.
Despite the significant blood loss, Loreen was still conscious. With a pale face, she expressed her gratitude, saying, “Thank you for saving me. May I ask… who are you?”
Charlie glanced at her but chose not to speak.
After all, she had always looked down on him. Even if he revealed his identity, what good would it do? It would only complicate things further.
It was better to remain anonymous for now.
Moreover, he didn’t come to her aid out of a desire for appreciation; he was simply acting on behalf of his wife, Claire.
Noticing Charlie’s silence, Loreen understood that he likely preferred to keep his identity hidden, so she refrained from asking again.
However, her strong-willed nature wouldn’t let her feel entirely comfortable with the situation. Since he had saved her but hadn’t accepted her gratitude, she felt he owed her something.
Just as Loreen was about to speak again, she heard his hoarse, cold voice say, “Take off your pants.”
Loreen’s eyes widened in shock as she looked up at the masked man, embarrassment and anger flooding through her.
She thought she had narrowly escaped danger, only to find herself in a worse predicament.
In this isolated place, with the man’s apparent skill, even her screams wouldn’t guarantee her escape.
Despair washed over her, and she clenched her teeth defiantly. “Don’t try to touch me! I will never allow anyone to humiliate me! I would rather die than let you harm me!”
Charlie was taken aback for a moment, then deliberately lowered his voice, pointing at her leg. “Your hamstring is injured, and the wound is dangerously close to the main artery. If you don’t get treatment quickly, you could end up disabled. If you lose any more blood before reaching the hospital, it will be too late. What do you choose?”
Loreen looked at him in disbelief, her cheeks flushing with heat.
She had assumed he intended to take advantage of her, but his words revealed otherwise…
Observing Loreen’s stunned expression, Charlie let out a quiet sigh.
Tentatively, she asked, “Can you… help me stop the bleeding?”
Charlie nodded. “I have some knowledge of Chinese medicine and can use acupuncture to halt the bleeding and ease your injury. Then you will have time to get proper treatment at the hospital.”
“Th-thank you,” Loreen stammered, her face now flushed, her voice barely above a whisper.
She hesitated to look at her wound, feeling deeply conflicted.
The injury was on her upper thigh, meaning she had to remove her pants.
But if she did, he would see her naked!
The Thomas family held strict values and Loreen never associated closely with other men, let alone allowed them to touch her.
Besides that, her family employed a renowned Western doctor. She was skeptical about whether acupuncture alone could effectively stop the bleeding and heal her injuries.
After contemplating her options, she politely refused. “Thank you for your kindness, but please take me to the hospital first. I think I can still manage.”
Charlie frowned, fully aware of her reasoning.
Loreen likely thought her injuries weren’t severe enough to warrant urgent attention, which is why she preferred to head to the hospital first.
What she didn’t realize was that the only reason she felt stable was that he had discreetly infused her with a small amount of reiki while he held her.
Without that, she would have succumbed to blood loss long ago.
When Charlie fell silent, Loreen began to believe her injuries weren’t as grave as she thought, prompting her to attempt to rise.
But the moment she moved, her wound tore open and a surge of warm blood spilled forth.
Loreen’s strength left her and she slumped back to the ground, dizzy and pale.
Charlie frowned and said, “I warned you that if you moved again, this leg would likely be irreparable. Even if you make it to the hospital, they may not be able to help you. Plus, considering your blood loss, you could very well die from shock before an ambulance arrives. The choice is yours, treat it now or not.”
