The Amazing Son In Law Chapter 22

Everyone returned to the banquet hall and the Lady took Claire’s hand, leading her to the stage. She spoke in a warm tone, “I truly apologize for what happened earlier. I was confused and made a mistake. In truth, this success is due to Claire’s outstanding efforts. She is a remarkable descendant of the Wilson family, and her dedication was crucial in securing this cooperation between the Wilson family and Emgrand.”

Doris Young, standing beside her, scoffed and interrupted, “Allow me to clarify. For this collaboration, Miss Claire not only put in substantial effort, but she also brought it to fruition entirely on her own. Other individuals had nothing to do with it.”

Though her words were blunt, it was a common occurrence for those familiar with Doris’s demeanor. Given Emgrand’s stature, no one would dare to retaliate, even if Doris publicly insulted Lady Wilson.

Lady Wilson quickly nodded and affirmed, “Vice President Young is correct. All the credit belongs to Claire. Moving forward, Claire will be the director of our Wilson family! She will oversee the collaboration between the Wilson family and the Emgrand Group!”

Doris Young smiled, shaking Claire’s hand as she said, “I look forward to a successful partnership in the future.”

Claire, still somewhat bewildered, could only nod in response.

The audience erupted in applause, their eyes filled with admiration for Claire. Who is this woman? The Emgrand Group holds her in such high regard!

Claire, herself perplexed, turned to Charlie. The scene mirrored what Charlie had just described—Lady Wilson had returned the director position that should have been hers.

By the end of the banquet, Claire remained in a daze as she returned home.

Reflecting on Charlie’s earlier words, she felt increasingly confused. Over the past few days, Charlie seemed to have changed. There were many aspects of him that she could not grasp, as if he were surrounded by a veil of mystery.

That night, Claire gained notoriety in Aurous Hill! Everyone recognized that the Wilson family had an exceptional younger generation, and the Emgrand Group was ready to support her wholeheartedly! It appeared that with her, the revival of the Wilson family was imminent.

The following morning, Claire woke up early and excitedly headed to the office. Today marked her first day as director, and she was determined to give her all.

Meanwhile, Charlie started his usual housework after getting out of bed.

Once he finished cleaning and was about to head to the market to buy groceries for lunch, he received an urgent call from his mother-in-law, Elaine.

Upon answering, Elaine’s frantic voice came through, “Charlie, you need to get to Pinnacle Ave within ten minutes or I will not forgive you when I get home!”

She hung up shortly after.

Charlie, puzzled, noted that his mother-in-law had been untraceable since early morning. Her sudden call seemed urgent.

Despite his irritation toward Elaine, he knew he couldn’t ignore her request. He hurriedly grabbed his things and took a taxi to Pinnacle Ave.

As soon as he arrived, he noticed a group of elderly men and women gathered in front of a shut-down insurance company.

Elaine stood at the forefront, holding a banner and angrily shouting, “Axel is a fraudulent platform! We demand our rights and the return of my hard-earned money!”

Charlie rushed forward and asked, “Mom, what’s going on? Why did you call me here?”

The condemnatory slogans echoed around him, and the shouts of the crowd made his ears ring.

Elaine pulled Charlie into the crowd and instructed, “Take my place and start shouting this slogan for me. I’ve been at it all morning, and my throat is sore.”

Charlie, not fully understanding the situation, reluctantly joined the elderly protesters while occasionally asking a nearby uncle for clarification. He soon grasped that Axel Insurance Company had been marketing insurance products with outrageously high returns.

These uncles and aunts had invested their savings into these products, lured in by the promise of substantial returns. Now, as the dividend distribution period approached, they discovered the company had shut its doors, with only a few employees left to offer vague excuses.

Realizing the scam, the elderly crowd felt deceived and enraged.

No wonder Elaine had insisted on rushing him over to help her demand justice.

“Mom, how much did you spend on insurance?” Charlie questioned, a concerned frown creasing his forehead.

Elaine replied anxiously, “They promised high dividends, and in my excitement, I invested all our family savings into their products…”

Charlie was taken aback, “What? You invested all our family’s money in financial insurance?!”

Elaine snapped back, annoyed, “Oh, you think you can criticize? You’re making this worse for me!”

She continued her tirade, saying, “If you had any ambition, I wouldn’t feel the need to turn to their insurance products. If I can’t rely on them for my retirement, what hope do I have in you, who’s done nothing useful?”

He couldn’t bear the fact that not only did he fail to support the family, but he also had to deal with this fiasco.

Then, she commanded, “You’re going to keep shouting slogans for me here. Not a moment of silence!”

Left with no choice, Charlie nodded, “Alright, Mom.”

Just then, a few aunts approached, sizing Charlie up. One asked Elaine, “Elaine, is this your son-in-law?”

They looked at Charlie’s attire, chuckling, “Why does he look so shabby? He can’t hold a candle to my son-in-law.”

Another chimed in, “Yes, his clothes are terrible, not nice at all!”

Their remarks were harsh and unkind.

Charlie wasn’t bothered by their disdain, after all, they were merely elderly women mourning their lost savings. There was no need to engage with them.

Elaine felt enraged as she scrutinized Charlie. Her dislike for him grew stronger, and she exclaimed, “Just watch! I’ll have my daughter divorce him soon and find a better son-in-law!”

Charlie felt a quiet laugh rise within him. A better son-in-law? Not even the wealthiest heirs in Aurous Hill could compare to him.

Elaine’s anxiety heightened as she worried about her investments. With Charlie being of little use, she knew she needed someone competent to help recover her lost funds.

Unfortunately, the family of Wendell Jones, who had been pursuing her daughter, was now bankrupt. Otherwise, she might have sought his assistance!

Then a thought struck her!

Elaine recalled Kevin, Gerald White’s brother, whom she had met at the family banquet the previous day. He had seemed quite interested in her daughter.

While the White family wasn’t as affluent as the Jones family, they were still significant. If she could reach out to him, he might be able to help.

Coincidentally, Kevin had given her his business card the day before. Without hesitation, she pulled out her phone and dialed Kevin’s number.

The Amazing Son In Law Chapter 38

The Amazing Son In Law Chapter 38

Clinton Tucker was completely unhinged at that moment. He was determined not to be humiliated by Charlie, that worthless individual, in front of his classmates.

With that resolve, he took the firecrackers from Douglas and hurled them directly into his car.

Then he grabbed a lighter, held the fuse of the firecrackers and declared coldly, “Watch me! I’m not someone who can’t accept defeat! I don’t need Charlie’s pity!”

Saying this, he immediately flicked the lighter to life! The firecrackers ignited at once and erupted within the car!

Initially, the flames could be seen flickering inside, but soon enough, the vehicle became engulfed in thick white smoke. The constant explosions made Clinton Tucker’s heart ache however, they only fueled the excitement of the onlooking students.

Many students had already pulled out their phones to capture the entire spectacle, eager to share this extraordinary event on social media afterward.

Thirty thousand firecrackers erupted in rapid succession, quickly devastating the interior of the BMW 540. The seats, filled with highly flammable sponge material, caught fire immediately, fueled by the gunpowder from the firecrackers.

No one anticipated that the firecrackers would ignite the entire car, and the thick smoke obscured the flames at first.

However, as the firecrackers began to wind down and the smoke started to clear, flames suddenly erupted within the car, engulfing it entirely!

The classmates at the scene screamed in shock, while Clinton Tucker shouted in panic, “Oh no, the fire! Extinguish it!”

He had thought that a string of firecrackers would only cause minor damage to the seats and interior, at worst resulting in a repair bill of tens or hundreds of thousands to restore the car to its former glory.

But no one expected the firecrackers would set the car ablaze!

He called for help, but none could douse the flames with their bare hands. In desperation, he quickly dialed 119, helplessly watching as his cherished car was consumed by the flames.

By the time the fire truck arrived, the BMW 540 had been reduced to a charred skeleton.

From that frame, it was impossible to discern that it had once been a BMW.

Clinton Tucker sat on the ground in despair, witnessing the destruction of his beloved car, his heart aching with grief.

If he had known it would come to this, he would have chosen to keep quiet rather than provoke Charlie and challenge him.

Not only had he lost face, but he had also lost his car…

Douglas maintained a neutral expression, secretly amused, and gave Charlie an approving thumbs-up.

Then he turned to Clinton Tucker and said, “Clinton, don’t be too upset. It’s almost time. How about we head inside for some food?”

Clinton Tucker wanted to find any excuse to leave, but after thinking about it, he felt it would be too easy on Charlie, the jerk!

No matter what, his car had been destroyed because of Charlie, so he had to reclaim some dignity!

Standing up, he replied coolly, “Why should I be upset? I just want to take this as a loss.”

Some classmates who admired him chimed in to support him, “Gerald is so wealthy; what’s a BMW to him?”

“Exactly! For Gerald, it’s just an ordinary car!”

Everyone understood that Clinton Tucker was trying to save face, so they ceased bringing it up and followed Douglas inside to get ready for the opening ceremony.

Inside the restaurant, several banquet tables were arranged in the hall. On a small stage at the front, banners celebrated the class reunion and the restaurant’s grand opening.

Many classmates brought gifts. Charlie also approached Douglas with the ancient painting he had purchased, saying, “Congratulations, Douglas. This is a small opening gift from the two of us.”

Claire also smiled, adding, “Douglas, congratulations! Wishing you great success in business!”

“Thank you, thank you.” Douglas replied hurriedly, leaning closer to Charlie’s ear with a grin, “I can see you and the class beauty are quite close, certainly not what people say! When do you plan to have a child?”

Claire blushed at their whispering, while Charlie grinned and responded, “Don’t get too nosy; when the time comes, I’ll share that news with you. You won’t miss out on the monetary contribution!”

“Exactly!” Douglas nodded enthusiastically, “I’ll definitely give the child a generous red envelope when the time comes!”

Just then, a woman with heavy makeup and a rather ordinary appearance approached Douglas, asking, “Douglas, who are these two?”

“This is my best friend from college, my buddy, Charlie! And this is our school beauty, Claire, now Charlie’s wife.”

After introducing the two, Douglas presented the woman and said, “This is my fiance, Lily Lewis.”

“Ah? Is he the one who lives off others…” Lily Lewis blurted out, only to realize her mistake quickly, correcting herself with a smile, “I’ve always heard Douglas mention you two! You really are a perfect match!”

Charlie feigned ignorance, handing the ancient painting to Lily Lewis, saying, “This is a small gift from us.”

Lily Lewis smiled and replied, “Oh, you really didn’t have to go to such trouble!”

She quickly accepted the gift box.

Charlie said, “You two continue chatting, we’ll find a place to sit.”

“Okay.” Douglas responded apologetically, “Sorry, Charlie, there are just too many classmates to greet.”

Once Charlie and Claire had left, Lily Lewis promptly opened the gift box that Charlie had given her and discovered a scroll inside. She frowned and remarked, “What did your classmate give you?”

Douglas replied, “Can’t you tell? It’s a painting!”

“Tsk.” Lily Lewis scoffed in disdain while unrolling the scroll, stating, “What kind of trash is this? It’s old and rotten, I’d guess it’s worth no more than a couple hundred dollars.”

Douglas insisted, “Why does it matter how much it costs? It’s a gift from a classmate and the sentiment is what counts.”

Lily Lewis retorted, “Come on, don’t make excuses. I’m telling you, don’t associate with classmates like this in the future. What they gave is barely enough to cover their meal!”

Douglas’s expression darkened, “Lily Lewis, are you really that shallow?”

Lily Lewis shot back angrily, “Douglas, how can you say that? Am I shallow? Why would I choose a poor guy like you? Don’t forget that most of the money invested in this restaurant came from my father!”

Douglas’s face turned slightly red and he fell silent for a moment.

At that moment, Clinton Tucker approached the two. Having recovered considerably from the earlier incident with the car, he began to act arrogantly again.

Walking up to them, he handed Douglas a thick red envelope and said casually, “Douglas, it’s your restaurant’s opening. I didn’t know what to give, so I thought I’d just give you this big red envelope.”

Lily Lewis thanked him excitedly and quickly took it, feeling it and realizing it contained at least $10,000. She immediately said flatteringly, “Oh, thank you so much!”

Clinton Tucker waved it off and asked, “I saw that Charlie just gave a gift as well? What did he give?”

Lily Lewis snickered and replied, “A painting, though I don’t know where it came from. It’s probably worth no more than a couple hundred dollars!”

Clinton Tucker sneered, “A loser will always be a loser!”

The Amazing Son In Law Chapter 36

The Amazing Son In Law Chapter 36

Douglas’s new restaurant is situated in the development zone of Aurous Hill City.

This area, located far from the city center, is expansive and not densely populated. Charlie wondered why Douglas opted to open his restaurant here.

However, Claire mentioned that several major manufacturing companies, including big names like Foxconn, will soon establish their presence in the development zone, leading to increased activity in the area.

Thus, Douglas’s decision to open a restaurant here now actually seems quite savvy.

Douglas’s restaurant stands beside a broad, newly paved street. It appears quite spacious with its two-story design.

The establishment is called The Charm Restaurant, giving it a somewhat artistic flair.

As Charlie drove up to the restaurant, he noticed a line of cars parked out front, with several people gathered around a gleaming golden BMW sedan, chatting and smoking.

Charlie recognized these individuals as his former college classmates, though he had no meaningful connections with them.

He specifically remembered the leader of the group, Clinton Tucker, who was known as a wealthy second-generation student during their college days. He had always shown interest in Claire, but she had never reciprocated.

At that moment, Clinton Tucker leaned casually against his golden BMW, soaking in the compliments from his classmates.

A few male classmates marveled over his recently purchased sedan, exclaiming, “Gerald, you’re really living the dream! You graduated not long ago and you’re already driving a BMW! Is that a BMW 540? The top model of the 5 Series?”

Clinton Tucker chuckled and replied, “Oh, the 540 is merely a commuter vehicle worth around 700,000 to 800,000 dollars; it’s really nothing special.”

“Wow! A 540? That’s the priciest imported model in the 5 Series!”

“Hey, I want to get a BMW 1 Series that costs 200,000 dollars, but I can’t even save enough for the down payment. I really can’t compare to Gerald!”

“Gerald, your car must have serious power. It must be incredibly fast, right?”

Clinton Tucker grinned, “It’s good enough; I won’t find anyone on the street who poses a challenge.”

“That’s amazing! I wish I could have a BMW sedan. My girlfriend complains every day about how I can’t afford a car, and it’s gotten so frustrating!”

At that moment, someone noticed another BMW and exclaimed, “Oh, is this BMW also one of our classmates’ cars?”

“Oh my gosh! Isn’t that Charlie, that unfortunate loser?”

“It looks like Claire is in the passenger seat! Unbelievable, this gigolo can actually drive a BMW, it must be thanks to Claire!”

Clinton Tucker caught sight of Charlie in the car and scowled, “So it’s this loser! Lucky him!”

Someone then asked, “Hey, what model of BMW is he driving?”

Charlie had just maneuvered the car nearby and reversed into a parking space. Observing the 520 designation on the rear, Clinton Tucker laughed mockingly, “Tsk, a 520— the most basic version of the 5 Series! Only losers who try to show off drive that model!”

One of his friends nodded in agreement, saying, “Gerald’s is a top-of-the-line 5 Series, and his is the lowest model. Clearly, it can’t compare!”

Clinton Tucker scoffed, “I could buy two of his cars with what mine costs!”

“Gerald still is incredible!”

Just then, Charlie parked the car, and Claire along with Loreen got out.

Several boys turned their attention to them and greeted, “Oh, here come the two beauties of our class!”

Claire and Loreen exchanged polite greetings. Clinton Tucker looked at Claire, who seemed even more beautiful now, feeling a surge of jealousy.

Why is this happening?

In college, he had pursued Claire relentlessly, but she had never given him a second glance.

Now, she was married to a son-in-law living off his wife’s family and a man deemed completely useless!

It’s as if fate is mocking me!

He couldn’t help but sneer, “Hey Charlie, you’ve married into Claire’s family, and it seems like you’re treated quite well! Even driving a BMW! Did Claire’s family buy you that? You’re really setting an example for our generation on how to take shortcuts!”

Claire felt a touch of displeasure at this remark. Loreen quickly responded, “Clinton Tucker, you’re mistaken. This car was not bought by Claire’s family; Charlie purchased it himself!”

“Oh!” Clinton Tucker smirked. “Impressive, driving a 5 Series!”

He then deliberately challenged Charlie, “Tell me, since there aren’t many cars in this development zone and the entrance road is wide and straight, why not race and see who is faster?”

Charlie frowned, feeling a stir of anger towards Clinton Tucker.

Why is he provoking me without cause? I have no ties to him, and there are no grievances between us.

Besides, what’s the point in racing? His car is a BMW 760, the fastest premium model. Competing with me would be akin to bullying a child.

Clinton Tucker assumed Charlie was afraid and immediately derided him, “Hey, Charlie, are you still as scared as you were in college? What’s holding you back from a little competition? Are you saving on gas? Don’t worry, I can cover a tank of gas for you.”

Loreen protested, “Hey, Clinton Tucker, what’s your point? Your car is a BMW 540, and Charlie’s is a 520. The power difference is significant. Do you really think it’s fair to race?”

Clinton Tucker shrugged casually, “Ultimately, it’s about skill! A good car doesn’t necessarily mean it’s fast; it also depends on the driver’s ability and guts. I wonder if Charlie has the guts to race me? If he’s scared, he can just say so. After all, he’s never truly been a contender, and everyone knows it.”

Several people around him chimed in, “That’s right, if you’re scared, just admit it. There’s no shame in that.”

Charlie chuckled instead of getting upset, replying, “Clinton Tucker, we can race, but let’s not just talk about it, right? How about we make it interesting with some stakes?”

“Sure!” Clinton Tucker, worried that Charlie would back out of the challenge, jumped at the mention of stakes. He blurted out, “How about this: whoever loses has to kneel and bow to the other to apologize, what do you think?”

Charlie shook his head, “We’re adults here; I don’t think we should indulge in childish antics.”

Just then, Douglas emerged from the restaurant dressed in a suit with a large platter of firecrackers. Spotting Charlie, he hurried over with a smile, “Oh Charlie, glad to see you!”

Charlie nodded back with a smile, saying, “Congratulations on your new restaurant opening, Daokun!”

Douglas grinned, “Thank you, brother!”

Clinton Tucker coldly interjected, “Charlie, don’t change the subject. What do you think would be a suitable prize?”

Douglas looked on curiously, “What’s going on? What’s the trouble?”

Charlie smiled slightly, glancing at the large platter of firecrackers in Douglas’s hands, and asked, “Douglas, how many blasts are in your firecrackers?”

“30,000 blasts!” Douglas replied with a smile. “This platter cost quite a bit, over 600 per platter!”

Charlie nodded and proposed to Clinton Tucker, “How about this, let’s race and the loser has to take this platter of firecrackers and set them off in his car. What do you think?”

The Amazing Son In Law Chapter 29

The Amazing Son In Law Chapter 29

Charlie was slightly taken aback to hear that Harold had booked Heaven Springs. What a coincidence! Didn’t Don Albert mention that he had opened Heaven Springs? It seemed Harold had arranged a banquet for himself there, didn’t it?

At that moment, Gerald White, who was beside him, exclaimed in surprise, “Harold, you managed to book the golden box at Heaven Springs? That’s not something just anyone can secure!”

Harold smiled with pride and replied, “To be honest, aside from the top diamond box, which I truly can’t get, the others are really quite accessible.”

However, this was merely Harold boasting. In reality, to secure the golden box, Lady Wilson had personally stepped in, paid a substantial sum, and gathered several people to successfully book it.

Loreen, having heard of Heaven Springs’ reputation in Eastcliff, quickly interjected, “We’re all friends here; there’s no need to be so extravagant.”

Harold flattered her, saying, “You’re our esteemed guest; how can we treat you the same as an ordinary friend?”

He then turned to Charlie and asked, “Brother-in-law, where did you book the banquet?”

Charlie replied casually, “What a coincidence, I also booked Heaven Springs.”

“Hahaha!” Harold laughed boisterously, “Charlie, you really think you can brag without hurting yourself? With your status, you can’t even secure the lowest bronze box at Heaven Springs, and yet you dare to boast.”

Charlie smiled nonchalantly and said, “Whether I’m boasting or not, what does it concern you? I’m not inviting you to dinner, so why are you so bothered?”

Harold retorted coldly, “Tsk, I can just tell you won’t even be allowed in the door of Heaven Springs!”

Loreen felt sympathy for Charlie as she observed him being targeted. She knew he was a son-in-law with no wealth or status in the Wilson family, and it was unrealistic for him to claim he would be welcomed at a top hotel. She guessed he was only trying to save face, so to avoid embarrassing him further, she said, “Oh, there’s no need for us to argue about this. Since we all booked the same place, let’s just go together.”

Harold sarcastically assured Charlie, “Alright, for Loreen’s sake, I’ll let you join me for a meal today, so you can see what a high-end hotel looks like!”

Charlie scoffed and laughed, dismissing him. Don Albert would kneel in his presence—what was Harold’s hotel to him? It was a pity Harold, being a loser, was blinded by the leaf in front of him!

Heaven Springs is an ancient Chinese hotel adorned with traditional classical charm and extravagant luxury; even the sign at the entrance is carved from top-grade rosewood.

As Charlie admired the interior decor of Heaven Springs, he was pleasantly surprised. He hadn’t expected Don Albert’s establishment to be this impressive. He thought to himself that he should bring his wife here to enjoy it sometime in the future.

Loreen looked around in awe and exclaimed, “I’ve heard so much about the reputation of Heaven Springs while in Eastcliff. It truly lives up to its name!”

Harold grinned and remarked, “Loreen, now that you’re here, we must treat you at the finest hotel.”

He then shot a disdainful glance at Charlie, sneering, “Unlike some people, if it weren’t for you, they’d probably never have a chance to visit such an upscale hotel in their lives.”

At that moment, Wendy feigned curiosity and asked, “Charlie, didn’t you also book a private room at Heaven Springs? Which one is it? Show us so we can be impressed!”

Charlie replied mildly, “I can’t quite recall which one it is. I just sent a text to their boss to arrange it. Let me check my message history.”

Harold scoffed derisively, “Do you even know who the boss here is? You’re just spouting nonsense. The boss is the renowned Don Albert. You better hope he doesn’t hear you talking like that; he could make you regret it.”

At that moment, Charlie opened his phone and reviewed the message from Don Albert he received the previous night. With a calm demeanor, he said, “He mentioned he reserved a diamond box for me.”

Harold burst into laughter upon hearing this, “Hahaha… A diamond box? Charlie, you’re going to make me die of laughter. Do you have any idea who gets to enter the diamond box? No more than ten people in Aurous Hill are qualified to go in! You’re nothing!”

Loreen remained silent but couldn’t help thinking that Charlie was overly concerned with appearances. How could someone of his standing possibly secure a diamond box? She had initially thought he was simply poor and powerless, but now she saw him as someone vain and desperate for validation. It was truly disappointing!

Charlie smiled but said nothing. To him, those mocking him were just foolish people looking down on others, and he was too uninterested to engage them.

Gerald White added sarcastically, “Charlie, even my father isn’t qualified to dine in the diamond box. You really dare to boast!”

Wendy chimed in, “Gerald, someone like him isn’t even worthy of eating the leftovers from the diamond box!”

Charlie glanced at Gerald White and sneered inwardly. This fool had no idea that Don Albert had knocked out his brother just yesterday, and he dared to come to his restaurant now?

Deliberately, he asked, “Gerald, I heard something happened to your brother yesterday?”

Gerald White frowned and replied, “How do you know that?”

He continued, “My brother was attacked yesterday and is still unconscious. We’re searching for whoever did this so we can deal with them! Do you know anything about it?”

Charlie shrugged, feigning ignorance. “I don’t know; I just heard he ran into trouble, but I don’t know the specifics.”

“Humph!” Gerald White spat contemptuously, “You useless person, don’t talk about my family’s affairs behind my back. If you do it again, watch how I handle you!”

Charlie merely smiled, ignoring the threat. It was evident that ignorance ran in their family!

He found it amusing that Gerald didn’t even know his own brother was taken out by Don Albert.

Just then, a man in black approached the group with purpose. Charlie recognized him as one of the bodyguards serving Don Albert.

The man spotted Charlie and his expression shifted to one of eagerness and flattery, almost bowing to him immediately.

Charlie quickly shook his head at him.

The bodyguard halted, thinking that Mr. Wade preferred not to attract too much attention, and said directly, “Dear guests, please follow me; your box has been prepared for you.”

Harold was taken aback. When did the golden box at Heaven Springs have such attentive service? Even before providing his name, someone was already there to greet him in person.

It was truly a matter of face!

Gerald White sighed from the side, “Harold, you seem to be quite esteemed. I think he’s close to Don Albert. It seems Don Albert really values you. How come you haven’t mentioned knowing him? You sure are low-key.”

Harold laughed proudly, “There’s no need to show off about this kind of thing. It’s better to maintain a low profile! Hahahaha!”

The Amazing Son In Law Chapter 25

The Amazing Son In Law Chapter 25

Kevin stood confidently at the entrance of Axel Insurance Company.

He knew that today provided a golden opportunity to showcase his strength in front of Claire’s mother and he was determined to make the most of it.

If he could impress her mother, what was there to worry about when it came to winning Claire? Soon, he could have the stunning beauty of Aurous Hill all to himself. Just the thought filled him with excitement!

He proclaimed loudly, “Uncles and aunts, rest assured, the boss of this fraudulent company will come to refund everyone later!”

Upon hearing this, the crowd erupted in cheers and applause, each person filled with enthusiasm.

Only Charlie watched Kevin with a smirk, thinking this guy was taking himself far too seriously. He’d be in for a rude awakening soon enough.

While Kevin basked in the admiration of the crowd, the door of Axel Insurance Company swung open suddenly.

Out stepped Axel Jordan, the company’s owner, accompanied by a middle-aged man dressed in a smart suit.

Though the middle-aged man appeared older, he exuded a commanding presence, this was none other than Don Albert!

Following Don Albert were several imposing bodyguards who moved closely behind him, each one radiating strength and power.

Don Albert’s reputation was so elevated that, while many in Aurous Hill knew his name, few ever had the chance to meet him. Consequently, no one, including Kevin, recognized him.

The crowd, however, instantly recognized Axel, the boss of the Axel Insurance.

The atmosphere shifted dramatically!

“Oh my goodness, Kevin really brought Mr. Axel here! He truly is impressive!”

“Yes, thanks to Elaine this time, we actually have hope for our money!”

“Elaine, such a remarkable young man is undoubtedly a great choice for a son-in-law!”

Elaine felt an indescribable satisfaction listening to the flattery from the older women around her.

Kevin had certainly helped her shine in front of them today.

With this thought in mind, her smile widened as she looked at Kevin with pride.

At that moment, Kevin strode forward with an air of superiority, feeling rather pleased with himself.

Unfamiliar with either Axel or Don Albert, he mistook the respect Axel showed to Don Albert as a sign that Don Albert held the position of boss.

So he addressed Don Albert haughtily, “Are you the boss of Axel Insurance Company?”

Don Albert simply smiled and replied, “I am not the boss, I only assist him. However, if you have something to say, you can tell me.”

Realizing the misunderstanding, Kevin’s expression turned dismissive. “So you’re just a lackey. Someone like you isn’t worth talking to, go get your boss!”

Charlie shook his head, looking at Kevin as if he were foolish.

The man in front of him dressed in the smart suit wielded an imposing presence, accompanied by his men, clearly not someone to be trifled with. Yet here was Kevin, arrogantly belittling him, heading straight for his own downfall.

Elaine, also watching, sneered and added, “Kevin, don’t waste your time talking to this lackey. The person next to you is the boss of Axel Insurance!”

Axel was taken aback!

How brazen were Kevin and this old woman to insult Don Albert, calling him a lackey and telling him to leave? Surely, they had no concept of their own mortality!

Who in Aurous Hill would dare to publicly disrespect Don Albert? If anyone did, they would surely find themselves in dire trouble!

Just as Kevin completed his arrogant remarks, one of Don Albert’s strong subordinates stepped forward, seized Kevin by the hair and unleashed a barrage of slaps across his face!

“How dare you insult Don Albert! Are you tired of living?”

Before he could draw breath, another swift motion brought the same punishment to Elaine, as he spat, “You dare to insult Don Albert, you wretched woman? I’ll teach you a lesson you won’t forget!”

Boom!

The impact of those words felt like a thunderbolt to Kevin and Elaine!

What? This man in the smart suit was actually the notorious Don Albert? And they had just openly insulted him without knowing their fate…

In an instant, both their faces drained of color and cold sweat broke out across their foreheads as terror gripped them.

Kevin was the first to react, he fell to his knees before Don Albert, bowing repeatedly and pleading, “Don Albert, I was wrong! Please forgive me! I was blind and didn’t recognize you, nor intended to insult you! The issues these people have collecting debts have nothing to do with me, please spare my life!”

He continued to kneel, slapping his own face in a frantic apology, his entire being breaking down in tears. He had never fathomed that the man supporting the owner of this fraudulent company would be the illustrious Don Albert!

Such a powerful figure, who could not only ruin him but also had the influence to harm his entire family!

Regret surged through him, all he wanted was to impress Claire’s mother and build a rapport with Claire.

Yet, before he could achieve his goal, he had offended Don Albert! If his father discovered this, he would be furious!

The sight around him left a mark of shock on the onlookers.

They had anticipated Kevin to help recover their funds, but never imagined he would suddenly kneel and apologize profusely to this man in a smart suit…

And Elaine, who had been so proud moments before, was now left a battered mess.

Don Albert scoffed and directed his gaze to the crowd. “Since this guy is so disrespectful, you all can take turns slapping him ten thousand times. Only when you finish will it be over.”

Overwhelmed with fear, Kevin’s heart raced. After ten thousand slaps, wouldn’t he be finished for good?

Meanwhile, one of Don Albert’s men pointed at Elaine, whose hair was disheveled from the beating and asked, “Don Albert, what should we do with this old woman?”

Don Albert regarded Elaine with disdain and coolly replied, “She should also receive ten thousand slaps!”

Elaine’s face blanched and she dropped to the ground, trembling uncontrollably. How could she possibly survive offending Don Albert?

As several men moved to grab Kevin and Elaine, preparing to execute their punishment, Charlie stood amidst the onlookers, observing the scene with detached indifference.
