The Amazing Son In Law Chapter 99

Seeing the sales lady grow increasingly anxious, worried about losing her job for upsetting Charlie, he gently waved his hand and reassured her, “It’s a minor issue, I won’t hold it against you.”

He then added, “By the way, please inform these shortsighted individuals about Villa A05.”

The sales lady, feeling as if she had been granted a reprieve, quickly addressed the others, “In our Villa area in Thompson First, the Villa’s are categorized into four types A, B, C and D. Among these, the largest and most exclusive is the A-type. This Villa boasts three floors above ground and two below, complete with a private elevator. The total usable area exceeds 1,000 square meters and it features hundreds of square meters of front and back courtyards. Its price is over 100 million dollars, making it the most expensive Villa in all of Aurous Hill!”

The moment these words left her mouth, everyone was left speechless!

A Villa worth over 100 million dollars is equivalent to more than a dozen three-bedroom apartments. How could someone as plainly dressed as Charlie afford such an extravagant residence?

Harold’s face twisted with anger, while his sister and parents nearly exploded with envy!

Wendy exclaimed in disbelief, “Charlie! How on earth do you own a Villa here?”

With a slight smile, Charlie replied, “Someone gifted it to me, is that such a surprise?”

“Why do you deserve something like that?” Wendy exclaimed in frustration. She had always aspired for a life of luxury but had never had the opportunity to inhabit a Villa herself. Why did Charlie get to enjoy this privilege?

Charlie chose not to engage with her outburst and instead focused on her brother, Harold. “Harold, when are you going to take that leap off the building? I’m curious.” he said with a grin.

Harold’s expression darkened, his anger palpable as he clenched his fists. “Charlie, stop playing games with me. I still can’t believe you can afford this Villa! I don’t believe anyone would just give you a Villa! You need to explain how you came by it!”

Charlie shook his head with a smile, addressing those around him. “See what I mean? Some people just can’t handle losing.”

Then, turning to Harold, Charlie remarked, “Given your capabilities, you’ll only ever be able to buy a standard high-rise apartment and serve as a doorman for those of us who actually live in Villa’s. You are in no position to question where my Villa came from. Just remember, this is a place you will never be able to afford!”

“You…” Harold’s face turned a deep shade of crimson.

This was the first time Charlie had openly insulted him like this and what infuriated him most was that he had no retort!

How could he even respond? His Family’s struggle to buy a 240-square-meter apartment was palpable, while Charlie effortlessly possessed the largest Villa in the residential area. The disparity between them felt insurmountable.

In a sense, he had become the subject of Charlie’s ridicule, and it filled him with rage!

Through gritted teeth, he said darkly, “Charlie, you’re so impressive. You built such a large Villa without informing your Family at all. Do you still think of the Wilson Family?”

Charlie smiled, “Didn’t you always argue that I was no longer part of the Wilson Family? So why should I feel the need to inform you?”

At that moment, he turned to Claire, saying, “Wife, since we’re here, why not go take a look at our new Villa?”

Claire responded hesitantly, “This… what’s going on?”

With a gentle smile, Charlie replied, “I’ll explain it all to you in a bit.”

Just as he finished speaking, a familiar voice echoed in the air.

“Oh, brother and sister-in-law, you’re looking to buy a home in Thompson First? That’s fantastic!”

It was Charlie’s mother-in-law, Elaine! She was accompanied by Charlie’s father-in-law, Jacob!

Both Charlie and Claire were surprised by their unexpected arrival.

Claire rushed over, asking, “Mom and Dad, what brings you here?”

Elaine explained, “Your uncle and aunt called us, mentioning they wanted to view houses in Thompson First and asked for our input.”

As Elaine relayed this, she shot Charlie an annoyed glance.

Truth be told, she hadn’t wanted to come, especially since she had just argued with her daughter the day before about moving out of the old house. Yet here she was, summoned by Christopher’s Family to tag along for their house tour.

What was there to see? Didn’t they just want to parade their potential purchase of a Villa in front of us?

Elaine felt frustrated and unwilling to give Charlie any praise, especially considering she had hoped for a capable son-in-law who would afford her the same luxury.

Her gaze turned to her sister-in-law, Hannah, who had a smug expression. “Sister-in-law, you are truly remarkable! You’ve purchased a house in Thompson First already! I’m so envious! I wonder when our Family will get to live there. This Thompson First estate is such a high-end residence! You bought a 240-square-meter house? I honestly doubt our Family could save enough in fifty years!”

Although Elaine was irritated by her sister’s Family, she knew better than to disregard their status and thus began to flatter them earnestly.

However, Hannah’s expression soured as she glared at Elaine. “Elaine, what do you think you’re implying? Are you looking down on us?”

Hannah was furious! Her intention in bringing Jacob and Elaine was to boast about purchasing a luxurious Villa in Thompson, showcasing her own success while belittling them.

She hadn’t expected that her son-in-law would actually own a luxury Villa as well!

Now, Elaine’s comments felt like a direct jab at her ego, implying that her own achievements paled in comparison.

“You have a Villa worth hundreds of millions and yet you express envy over my situation?” she seethed. “That’s quite an insult!”

Feeling wronged, Elaine was taken aback. She had endeavored to flatter Hannah and yet felt accused of contempt. Did she really need to grovel to avoid misunderstandings?

Thus, Elaine forged ahead with her flattery, “Oh, sister-in-law, when comparing myself to you, I feel like a mere candle next to the sun! How could I dare look down on you? You’re about to settle down in Thompson First’s finest grade while I’m still stuck in my small, dilapidated home. Oh, our little house is truly falling apart, it can’t possibly compare to your luxurious Thompson First residence! Naturally, I envy you!”

Hannah was even more offended by Elaine’s words, her anger rendering her speechless. Her husband, Christopher, gritted his teeth. “Elaine, what’s with your condescending remarks? It’s just a Villa! Why are you acting so superior?”

He then turned to his brother, Jacob and coldly added, “Jacob, do I still mean anything to you as your brother? Or am I just invisible? For something as significant as a Villa, you didn’t even bother to inform the Family?”

Jacob was momentarily dumbfounded. “Villa? What Villa? Brother, are you looking to buy a Villa? Where did you find the money for that?”

When Christopher heard this, he immediately thought that Jacob was trying to flatter him with false praise. He huffed in irritation, “Alright, Jacob, why are you saying things like that? Is it just because you want to live in a Villa in Thompson First? Are you taking it out on me?”

Jacob looked bewildered. “What? You think I’m living in Thompson First Villa? Brother, please don’t tease me like that!”

Elaine also appeared confused. “Brother, is there some kind of misunderstanding here?”

Christopher pointed at Charlie with a disgruntled expression. “Your son-in-law has purchased a top-tier Villa from Thompson First! Let him explain what’s going on!”

Elaine and Jacob stood in stunned silence, looking at Charlie in disbelief. “Charlie, is what your uncle said true? Did you really buy a top-tier Villa from Thompson First? Where is it?”

Charlie nodded. “Mom and Dad, we do have a Villa. It was gifted to me after I helped someone.”

“Who gave it to you?” Elaine asked, her eyes shining with excitement.

Charlie explained, “I helped a friend with some Feng Shui issues and in gratitude, he gifted me the Villa.”

Elaine couldn’t contain her excitement, exclaiming, “You must take us to see this Villa right away! Oh my goodness! I never imagined I would live in a top-class Villa from Thompson First!”

At that moment, Claire tugged on Charlie’s sleeve and whispered, “Charlie, what exactly is happening here?”

With a slight smile, Charlie replied softly, “Someone really did gift me a Villa. If you don’t believe it, we can go see it right now.”

As Elaine looked back at her brother and sister-in-law, she felt a surge of superiority!

Finally!

When you bought a large apartment, you insisted I accompany you to search for a place. Now, I will soon be the one residing in the elite Villa area of Thompson First. After having been belittled for so long, it’s finally my turn to be on top!

So she purposefully smiled and said, “Oh, brother and sister-in-law, Harold and Wendy, since you’re all here, why don’t we go visit this Villa together? What do you all think?”

Christopher wanted to dismiss this and leave immediately, but his wife, Hannah, held him back, nudging him and saying to Elaine, “Alright, let’s go take a look then!”

As she spoke, she leaned closer to her husband and murmured, “Make sure to take some pictures and videos to show the Lady when we get back. If she likes the Villa, she’ll certainly want to come by. Then it will be our turn.”

Christopher’s eyes lit up! So that was her plan! It’s truly brilliant!

Charlie led everyone into the Villa area of Thompson First.

As soon as they entered the Villa community, the group looked around in awe. The surroundings were far more exquisite than the apartment buildings outside, presenting a breathtaking atmosphere.

“Charlie, which Villa is yours?” Wendy asked loudly, deliberately drawing attention.

Charlie took out the key, walking past Wendy with a grin and heading towards a Villa ahead. “This one, A05.”

Under the curious gazes of the crowd, Charlie maintained his composure and inserted the key into the Villa door, gently pushing it open.

With a soft creak, the door swung open, revealing the beautifully landscaped garden, instantly mesmerizing everyone.

Click! The lock turned effortlessly.

Wendy stood there, stunned!

Harold and his parents were speechless!

Claire held her breath, rubbing her eyes to ensure she wasn’t imagining things.

The garden was adorned with pavilions, lush trees and vibrant flowers and a magnificent luxury Villa towered majestically in the center!

“This… this is just too extravagant…” Christopher was the first to come to his senses and exclaimed in shock.

Harold, with a twisted expression, blurted out, “Who would give you such a lavish Villa? I don’t believe it!!”

“Whether you believe it or not, this Villa truly was a gift to me.” Charlie replied dismissively.

Wendy glared at Charlie, indignation flaring up in her tone. “Charlie, do you really think you deserve such an extravagant Villa?”

Charlie simply smiled, “That’s not for you to decide.”

The group fell into a stunned silence at the Villa’s entrance. No one could have imagined that Charlie was the owner of the most expensive Villa in Aurous Hill City!

Wendy and Christopher struggled to accept this shocking reality, feeling as if they had been slapped in public and wishing they could disappear. The revelation was staggering!

In that moment, an elderly man stepped out of the Villa. He approached Charlie and respectfully asked, “Hello, are you Mr. Wade?”

Charlie nodded, “That’s me. And you are?”

The old man introduced himself, “Hello, Mr. Wade, I’m Mr. White’s butler, Barry Landon, here to manage this Villa. You can call me Barry, I take care of the Villa and ensure its maintenance.”

“Barry?” Wendy stared at him, baffled, her mind racing. Wasn’t this Barry the butler for her fiance Gerald White’s family? Why was he here? Did this Villa belong to the White family? If so, why was it given to Charlie?

Wendy quickly asked, “Barry, what’s happening? Does this Villa belong to the White family?”

Barry clarified, “It used to, but now it belongs to Mr. Wade.”

Then, turning back to Charlie, he inquired, “Mr. Wade, the Villa’s interior decoration is still in progress. When do you plan on moving in? I can arrange for the workers to expedite the work.”

Charlie replied nonchalantly, “We won’t be moving in just yet. You continue managing the Villa and I’ll reach out to you before we decide to move in.”

“Understood! Mr. Wade!” With that, Barry bowed to Charlie stepping aside to allow him entry.

Wendy’s eyes nearly popped out of her head and the Wilson family members were equally astonished.

“The butler from the White family?” Wendy muttered, “Which White family? The Gerald family?”

Charlie looked at her with a small smile and confirmed, “Yes, it belongs to your fiance Gerald White’s family. This Villa was gifted to me by his Uncle.”

“What?” Wendy’s mind reeled! This Villa belonged to her fiance’s family?

In other words, it could be hers in the future? But why would it be given to Charlie? This was supposed to be her Villa!

Wendy’s parents were just as confused and agitated. The White family was their daughter’s future in-laws, so naturally, a Villa from the White family should be given to their daughter. Why was it given to Charlie? It made no sense!

Hannah turned to Wendy, “Wendy, do you have any idea what’s happening with this Villa from the White family?”

Wendy vigorously shook her head, “I don’t know! I’ve never heard Gerald mention it…”

Hannah immediately urged, “Call Gerald and find out! We need to get to the bottom of this!”

“Okay!” Wendy quickly pulled out her phone and called Gerald White.

As soon as he picked up, she asked, “Gerald, does your family own a Villa in Thompson First?”

Gerald responded, “Yes, we do. What’s the matter?”

Wendy expressed her disappointment, “Why didn’t you mention this before? Is it the wedding house for us?”

“No.” Gerald replied, “The Villa was bought by my uncle for his retirement. He prefers the environment in Thompson First. There’s no way he would let us use it.”

Curiously, Gerald asked, “How did you come to know about this?”

Wendy burst into tears, feeling utterly distressed. “Do you know that your uncle gave this Villa away?”

“Gave it away?” Gerald exclaimed in shock, “Who did he give it to?”

Wendy sobbed, “He gave it to Charlie! My useless brother-in-law, Charlie!”

The Amazing Son In Law Chapter 76

The Amazing Son In Law Chapter 76

With a click, Sharon’s spine was shattered! Another one! Both husband and wife found themselves paralyzed from the waist down! There would never be a chance for recovery!

At that moment, Isaac Cameron stepped forward and said respectfully, “Young Master, the 300 heavy excavators I mobilized have arrived. With just a word from you, the entire Elite Vault Enterprise will be reduced to rubble!”

“Okay!” Charlie nodded coldly and commanded, “Notify all workers to evacuate within ten minutes! After that, flatten everything here!”

Daniel and Sharon were terrified. Was their entire lifetime of hard work ending just like this? This was the end for them, they could only live as if they were lifeless. Without money, who would take care of them?

Charlie was indifferent to their plight. He instructed someone to activate the fire alarm, causing an immediate evacuation of the entire factory.

Then, Charlie picked up his wife Claire, who had fallen asleep, and had several men in black carry the paralyzed Daniel and Sharon .

As everyone exited the office building, the factory was nearly evacuated. The workers, believing there was a fire, rushed out in panic, desperate to escape.

At that moment, three hundred excavators surrounded the factory. The thousands of people called by Isaac Cameron were stationed around the periphery, helping to usher the workers out.

Charlie stood in the courtyard and said to Daniel and Sharon, “I want you to witness how your hard work turns to ashes!”

He then turned to Isaac Cameron and ordered, “Let the excavators in! Demolish it immediately!”

The three hundred excavators entered with a loud commotion. The clattering buckets and heavy machinery sounded like a battalion of tanks, tearing down several buildings within the factory and leaving only ruins in their wake.

Daniel and Sharon felt utterly hopeless. This was their life’s work! Every brick, tile, beam, and building was a testament to their struggles. The factory was like a child to them, and now someone was demolishing it piece by piece, a form of torment akin to slow death!

In that moment, both of them had completely abandoned the thought of survival. There was only one thought lingering in their minds: death! But that was not an option. Charlie would not grant them the mercy of death! He intended for them to endure suffering for the rest of their lives!

Charlie then addressed them, “I will spare your lives, but remember, if anyone reveals my identity, I will eliminate your entire family not a single soul will remain, not even a pet!”

Overcome with fear, they broke down in tears, pleading, “Young Master, we wouldn’t dare! Even if you kill us, we won’t disclose your identity!”

Charlie nodded. Looking at the disabled couple and the desolate Elite Vault Enterprise, the rage in his heart finally found release.

Then, he instructed Isaac Cameron, “Have the helicopter come and take me and my wife back!”

Isaac Cameron nodded promptly, then respectfully suggested, “Young Master, I believe the young lady may have been drugged. Would you like me to take her to the hospital or get a doctor to come home?”

Charlie waved his hand and dismissed the idea, saying, “No, just take us back!”

……

Upon arriving home, Claire was still asleep. This was primarily because Charlie had not yet withdrawn the reiki from her body.

Once they were home, he gently placed her on the bed and retracted the energy. As a result, Claire stirred awake immediately.

“Husband!” Claire opened her eyes to see Charlie’s face and was filled with joy, only to be overcome with tears.

Charlie quickly reassured her, “It’s okay, my love, don’t be afraid. Your husband brought you home.”

“Home?” Claire looked around, realizing that they were indeed in their bedroom. She then asked, “Did Daniel and the others cause you trouble?”

“No,” Charlie replied. “Daniel and his wife are now high-level paraplegics and the entire Elite Vault Enterprise has been leveled. This is the consequence of their own evils leading to self-destruction.”

Claire was astonished. “How could that happen? What transpired?”

Charlie offered a faint smile, “I called on a few friends to assist in rescuing you. It turns out their entire office building and factory were constructed poorly. After we left, one of their workshops exploded, leading to the entire factory’s collapse. It’s unfortunate you were asleep, otherwise, you would have witnessed the dramatic scene!”

Claire struggled to believe it. “A factory, a workshop explosion and everything reduced to ruins?”

“Yes,” Charlie affirmed. “It was quite a spectacle! I think they got what they deserved!”

He then discreetly messaged Isaac Cameron. “Get the media to announce that the Elite Vault Enterprise faced a chain reaction from a workshop explosion, resulting in the entire factory collapsing due to shoddy construction!”

Isaac Cameron promptly replied, “Rest assured, Young Master, it will be on the news shortly!”

A few minutes later, while Claire was trying hard to recollect the events leading up to her fainting, her phone suddenly lit up with numerous push notifications from news applications.

She glanced at the headlines and was stunned! The news reports were dominated by stories like “An accident at the Aurous Hill Elite Vault Enterprise led to the collapse of the entire factory, which was built poorly, resulting in several fatalities. The owners, Daniel and his wife, sustained severe injuries and are now paralyzed!”

Charlie remarked, “See? I didn’t mislead you, did I?”

Claire sighed with belief, “Evil will be punished!”

She then quickly asked Charlie, “When you were there, that villain didn’t do anything to me, right?”

Charlie assured her, “When I arrived, your clothing was intact. It was actually Daniel’s wife who arrived first and prevented him from harming you.”

Claire was moved and shed a few tears. “Charlie, I’m so sorry. I didn’t intend for this to happen…”

Charlie quickly replied, “Silly girl, don’t say that! I won’t hold it against you! It’s my fault for not protecting you adequately, which allowed that villain to take advantage of the situation and almost hurt you.”

Feeling deeply touched, Claire wrapped her arms around Charlie gently, overwhelmed with gratitude and love.

In that moment, she understood deeply how much Charlie cared for her, filling her with an immense sense of happiness.

In the span of an afternoon, the Elite Vault Enterprise was brought to its knees.

The upper class of Aurous Hill was in turmoil. Though the news described it as an accident, no one believed that narrative.

Speculation arose regarding which influential figure was behind this.

After all, who else in Aurous Hill could wield such power?

Everyone began to recollect recent clues about a mysterious tycoon who had spent over 10 million in cash for jade and had recently become a social media sensation, the chairman of the Emgrand Group who had acquired the Emgrand Group and invested 2 billion in a six-star hotel and the enigmatic individual who had booked the Shangri-La Sky Garden for a wedding.

All these leads seemed to point toward one individual, the enigmatic chairman of the Emgrand Group!

Who else, if not him, possessed such capabilities?

The identity of the chairman of the Emgrand Group became even more enigmatic in Aurous Hill!

The Amazing Son In Law Chapter 96

The Amazing Son In Law Chapter 96

Under the admiring gazes of everyone, Charlie departed calmly.

During the ride home with Jasmine, she couldn’t help but steal glances at him.

At that moment, Charlie seemed to have returned to his ordinary self, with no trace of any remarkable cultivation remaining.

This shift surprised her and felt somewhat strange.

Just moments ago, Charlie had radiated an aura of superiority that commanded both admiration and fear.

But now, that presence had vanished and at first glance, he appeared no different from anyone else on the street.

She wondered if he had intentionally subdued himself or if it was merely an illusion.

Unable to hold back, Jasmine inquired, “Charlie, was that thunder… actually summoned by you?”

Charlie met her gaze and offered a subtle smile.

“Take a guess. Would you believe me if I said it was just a coincidence?”

Jasmine’s mind flashed back to the moment of the thunder’s summoning.

In the brilliant flash of lightning, he stood confidently amid it all, exuding an extraordinary charm.

If he were indeed that kind of person, every woman would surely be drawn to him.

Feeling a stir of emotions, Jasmine quickly shook her head.

What a ridiculous thought!

Even the world’s leading physicists cannot control thunder and lightning.

If Charlie could summon thunder, then how could he still be the timid son-in-law he currently is?

Could it be that the thunder was simply a happenstance?

When Charlie reached his home, he heard his mother-in-law Elaine’s voice echoing from inside.

“I told you to find a capable husband long ago, but you wouldn’t listen! Look at how competent Tucker Lifen’s son-in-law is. He gifted her a spacious four-bedroom apartment! Over 180 square meters! How much room is that? And here we are living in just 120 square meters, feeling so cramped!”

After that, Elaine, visibly upset, continued, “Other sons-in-law can actually be relied upon, but the one you married, Charlie, is useless. If I depend on him, I fear I’ll never live in a bigger house in my lifetime!”

Claire’s discontented voice replied, “Mom, why do you have to envy others? Besides, I’ve just been promoted to director. If I save money for a few more years, we might be able to afford a new house.”

Elaine, still angry, retorted, “Wait a few more years? By then, it will be too late! Ever since you married Charlie, our family’s living standards have plummeted. We used to live in the Wilson family villa, but now? We can barely manage in this rundown place. All my friends live better lives than I do!”

Claire said, “Mom, what’s the point of constantly comparing ourselves?”

“It’s frustrating!” Elaine snapped. “Because I can’t compete with others, it feels especially demoralizing!”

Charlie shook his head helplessly at this point, opened the door and stepped inside.

Elaine noticed Charlie’s return, scoffed coldly and said, “Oh, so you do know to come back? Are you going to cook? We’re all starving!”

With a smile, Charlie replied, “Mom, I’ll start cooking right now.”

With that, he headed straight to the kitchen.

Charlie was well aware of Elaine’s nature. She was superficial and judgmental, feeling uncomfortable seeing others succeed.

If she found out that Tucker White was going to gift him a villa as an apology, she would immediately try to ingratiate herself with him.

However, due to Elaine’s attitude, he decided not to mention the house to her just yet.

As Charlie busied himself in the kitchen, Claire approached him and quietly said, “Don’t let Mom’s words affect you. She’s just being vain.”

Charlie pretended to be oblivious, saying, “What did Mom say? I didn’t hear a thing.”

“Just act like you didn’t hear.” Claire teased, poking him playfully on the forehead.

Charlie gently held her hand.

Claire’s cheeks flushed and she quickly glanced towards the kitchen, trying to pull her hand away.

But Charlie kept his grip and noticed she was wearing the bracelet he had crafted. He smiled and asked, “Does this bracelet really work when worn?”

“Ah?” Claire snapped back to reality, nodded and said, “You know, it truly does. Since I started wearing it, I feel rejuvenated, much more comfortable. What’s it made of? Why is it so effective?”

Charlie smiled and replied, “It’s just made from special pearls.”

The HolyPearl of the Ocean on Claire’s wrist made her skin appear as delicate as fresh snow and as tender as new lotus roots.

Her smooth, warm hand felt like a piece of elegant jade in Charlie’s grasp, and he didn’t want to release it.

Claire noticed this too and promptly blushed, pulling her hand back and giving him an admonishing glare.

Charlie chuckled and asked, “So, do you want to change houses too?”

“Of course! Who wouldn’t want to live in a new house? My mom has been grumbling ever since we moved out of the villa about how small and shabby this place is…”

Claire sighed, then caught herself and added, “But the housing prices are just too high now. We don’t have that much money, so I suppose we should forget it.”

Just then, Claire had a sudden thought and blurted out, “Oh, we could go check out some real estate and see how much more it would cost to get a bigger house. If the price difference isn’t too steep, maybe we can think about trading up.”

Before Charlie could respond, Claire’s excitement took over, “It’s decided then! Tomorrow is the weekend, let’s go look at some real estate!”

Noticing how invested she was in this idea, Charlie nodded and said, “If you’re eager to see it, I’ll go with you.”

Claire began researching real estate on her phone and set her sights on the New District, known for its better environment.

Just then, a knock on the door interrupted them. After dinner, a courier delivered a small package to Charlie, saying, “This is a local express for you, please sign here.”

After signing, Charlie opened the package to discover a house key along with several golden cards labeled “Thompson First Villa A05.”

At that moment, Charlie received a call from Zeke White, the head of the White family. He spoke respectfully, saying, “Mr. Wade, have you received the key and room card? Thompson Villa is the most prestigious real estate project developed by Thompson Company in Aurous Hill. The A05 I provided is the largest villa available. Not including the courtyard, it has more than 1,000 square meters of usable space. Please accept it!”

Charlie was familiar with Thompson, having heard of their development of villas and high-rise residential areas in Aurous Hill, distinctly the height of luxury real estate in the area.

A villa like this typically costs over 100 million. It seemed Zeke White was indeed quite generous.

Smiling lightly, Charlie replied, “You’re quite considerate.”

Zeke White responded jubilantly, “No, no! It is an honor for the White family to serve Master Wade!”

After returning to the room, Charlie intentionally asked Claire, “Wife, how do you feel about the house at Thompson First?”

“Thompson First?” Claire exclaimed. “How could we afford a house there! Even the price of standard high-rise apartments is double compared to outside! But I must admit, the properties are truly the finest in Aurous Hill!”

With a slight smile, Charlie said, “We can go and take a look tomorrow, then decide if we want to buy it.”

Claire quickly waved her hand and replied, “Let’s not. We should be practical and look for regular houses.”

Charlie grinned and said, “Honestly, I have a friend in Thompson First who mentioned he could help with internal pricing. We could go check it out first.”

The Amazing Son In Law Chapter 86

The Amazing Son In Law Chapter 86

Adam found himself in the spotlight at that moment. After a brief moment of contemplation, his rationale finally won out over his urges. He muttered, “I concede!”

“Tsk!”

“You’re such a coward!”

“What a disgrace!”

“What an absolute shame!”

The chorus of scornful remarks from the crowd intensified Adam’s embarrassment.

He regretted stepping out today otherwise, he wouldn’t have to endure such humiliation.

Consumed by his humiliation, Adam seethed with anger. When he turned to see Charlie’s mocking expression, his fury only escalated.

Overwhelmed by irritation, he stormed out of his private room and confronted Charlie.

“Mr. Wade, you’re clearly trying to provoke me, aren’t you?”

Charlie leisurely picked up the perfectly brewed tea from the table, took a sip and replied, “No one forced you to bid against me. You chose to challenge me. Are you upset because you can’t outbid me?”

Jasmine, who was standing nearby, added coldly, “Mr. Quinton, those are the rules of the auction. If you’re willing to gamble and lose, then don’t complain if you can’t handle the loss.”

Grinding his teeth in frustration, Adam refrained from lashing out at Jasmine.

“You will regret this!” he snapped at Charlie before angrily retreating back to his private room.

Charlie shook his head in disbelief. With a spendthrift like Adam around, it was unlikely the Quinton family would ever improve their circumstances.

Under the scrutiny of the crowd, Charlie continued to swipe the black card to complete his purchases.

After all, it was Graham’s money, so he felt no remorse about the expenses.

Just imagine, if Graham discovered that he spent so much extra due to Adam the loser of the Quinton family, what would his reaction be? He might just blame it all on Adam out of frustration! How amusing…

An hour later, the auction was nearing its conclusion.

During this time, Adam had not placed a single bid, likely cowed by Charlie’s previous actions.

At that moment, several waitstaff wheeled a small cart onto the stage with great effort, revealing a massive object atop it.

Charlie suddenly inhaled sharply, his eyes locked on the stage. He felt a powerful surge of energy!

At that moment, Master Yaleman, seated in the adjacent box, also perked up, his attention focused on the item.

This was the centerpiece treasure!

However, as Finn lifted the cloth covering it, the audience let out a collective sigh of disappointment.

What lay on the cart was nothing more than a battered, large reef, adorned with seaweed and dried shells!

A hushed conversation swept through the crowd, they could not comprehend why the Treasure Pavilion would present such a dilapidated stone as the grand finale.

Just then, Finn began to explain.

“Ladies and gentlemen, please wait a moment. This is the grand finale of our auction, the natural giant clam!”

“This giant clam formed on the ocean floor and has been certified to be a hundred years old. After its death, it has lain on the seabed for thousands of years. The shell showcases a natural swastika pattern, it’s undeniably a unique treasure.”

After his announcement, he directed the attendant to polish a section for everyone to see.

Sure enough, the palm-sized area revealed a stunning translucent golden red akin to amber, with a hidden “卍” pattern that was simply breathtaking.

This revelation ignited excitement among the crowd.

The international market prices giant clams by the gram, typically ranging from 30,000 to 50,000 and the lifespan of a clam shell is only 20 to 100 years. It’s a remarkable feat for this clam to reach the age of 100, making it an exceptional gem among treasures.

Even rarer is the fact that it has been submerged for thousands of years. Its color is a striking golden red with transparency, and its natural pattern adds to its auspicious nature, elevating it to an elite status among giant clams.

The starting bid for this giant clam was set at 9 million.

Bids rapidly poured in and soon the price soared to 12 million.

Many spectators dropped out, yet a few discerning individuals persisted.

Just then, Master Yaleman stood up and declared loudly, “I bid 15 million!”

He then turned and graciously bowed to the audience, smiling, “My friends, I attended this auction solely for this giant clam. Please allow me this favor, I promise to gift each of you a peace amulet in gratitude.”

Most of the guests were high-profile business leaders who recognized Master Yaleman’s formidable reputation, making them reluctant to cross him.

After all, a casual slight could lead to chaos within their families, especially if he decided to perform a random ritual.

Furthermore, receiving a peace amulet valued at 200,000 dollars was a worthwhile trade, so many reluctantly chose to comply, despite their dissatisfaction.

Though Finn maintained a serious demeanor, he was seething inside.

Originally, the auction was meant to go to the highest bidder, but Master Yaleman had broken the protocol. If he walked away with the 15 million, it would barely impact Baxendale profits, but it would tarnish the Treasure Pavilion’s reputation in the industry.

Finn understood that offending Master Yaleman could be problematic due to his extensive influence and skills, so he had no choice but to concede.

Master Yaleman gleamed with pride and excitement. He had traversed to Aurous Hill specifically for this giant clam, navigating numerous challenges to finally obtain it!

What was 15 million in the grand scheme of things?

Once it was in his possession, he was confident he could turn a significant profit!

Additionally, the crowd had fallen strangely silent. It appeared no one dared to challenge him once he placed his bid!

What a show of respect, what an assertion of authority!

Across the nation, who wouldn’t honor Master Yaleman’s presence? If he succeeded in acquiring this giant clam for 15 million, he would feel he had truly scored a bargain!

At that instant, a calm voice broke the silence.

“I bid 30 million!”

The venue fell into stunned silence as all eyes turned toward the source of the voice, astonished.

It was him again!

The young man in plain attire who initially appeared unremarkable, but had previously outbid Adam not once but twice!

The truly shocking part was that he had dared to take on Master Yaleman!

Master Yaleman immediately recognized Charlie and his expression darkened.

Meanwhile, Adam stood up, eyes wide in disbelief, rubbing them as if to confirm his vision.

Jasmine was taken aback by Charlie’s sudden move to bid against Master Yaleman.

While she knew Charlie possessed a talent for evaluating treasures, she was unaware of the extent of his financial resources.

She couldn’t help but wonder why, even she hesitated to cross Master Yaleman, yet Charlie seemed unfazed by the prospect of his retribution.

Jacob was the first to regain his senses and urgently pulled at him, “Charlie, what are you doing? Sit down at once!”

“Dad, I know my own limits.” Charlie confidently replied, turning his gaze back to the stage, his demeanor composed.

“Charlie, what are you trying to prove? Are you attempting to steal from Mr. Yaleman?” Adam interjected, his tone icy.

Charlie smirked slightly, “This is an auction, everyone is entitled to bid. How can you call it theft? For someone your age, shouldn’t you know the rules?”

Then, Charlie scoffed, “You should stay quiet, you just embarrassed yourself. Aren’t you feeling ashamed?”

Adam blushed with embarrassment, quickly sinking back into his seat, rendered speechless.

Jack’s expression darkened further, his gaze fixed on Charlie like a hawk and he said coldly, “You again! Do you know who I, Jack Yaleman, am? How dare you try to take what is mine?”

Charlie shot back with a sneer, “I don’t care what kind of authority you think you have, I’m taking it from you today, so what?”
