The next morning, Claire arrived at Emgrand Group with Charlie, bringing along the cooperation plan she had prepared the night before.

Taking a deep breath and gathering her courage, Claire walked through the doors of Emgrand Group.
From his vantage point, Charlie pulled out his phone and called Doris Young.

Charlie then inquired, “By the way, I’ve heard that the collaboration between Emgrand Group and the Jones family is quite significant?”
Doris Young confirmed, “In the past, their partnership with Emgrand Group was indeed strong. They also wish to deepen that collaboration for our new project and are currently submitting materials for the cooperation application to me. Ultimately, it depends on your decision, Young Master.”
Charlie replied coolly, “For this new project, I do not want the Jones family involved at all, nor do I want any future cooperation with them.”
Doris Young assured him, “Don’t worry, I will handle it!”

As she spoke, she nervously handed Doris Young a document. “This contains the relevant qualifications and introductions for our Wilson Group. Please take a moment to review it.”
With a smile, Doris Young took the document and skimmed it before saying, “Ms. Wilson, I’ve reviewed your information and I believe there is potential for cooperation between the Wilson family and Emgrand.”
“What? Are you serious?” Claire exclaimed, unable to believe her ears. It seemed too easy, too straightforward.
Doris Young smiled reassuringly and confirmed, “Absolutely. While the Wilson family’s resources may not meet Emgrand Group’s usual standards, our Chairman has a high regard for you, Ms. Wilson and is eager to collaborate.”
“The Chairman?” Claire asked, her eyes widening. “May I ask who your Chairman is?”
Doris Young replied with a calm smile, “Our Chairman is Mr. Wade from the Eastcliff Wade Family.”
“Mr. Wade?” Claire frowned, thinking aloud, “I don’t believe I know anyone by that surname besides my husband.”
Doris Young nodded slightly. Charlie had instructed her not to disclose too much about his identity, so she could only share the minimal details.
Claire did not recognize anyone with the surname Wade, except for Charlie. She never considered that her husband, who was an orphan with little to his name, might be the Mr. Wade mentioned by Doris.
At this moment, Doris Young continued, “I noticed that you initially proposed a cooperation share of thirty million.”
Claire nodded eagerly, asking hesitantly, “Is that too much?”
Doris Young smiled and replied, “Not at all in fact, it’s a bit low.”
Puzzled, Claire pressed, “What do you mean by that?”
Doris Young explained, “Our Chairman has directed me to raise the cooperation share to sixty million.”

This was also the first time Charlie met Doris Young. He had to admit, Doris Young was incredibly beautiful! She was in her twenties, boasting a slender yet curvaceous figure, stunning looks and an aura of sophistication and capability.
Charlie sat down at Doris Young’s desk and said, “I won’t be visiting Emgrand Group frequently going forward, so you’ll be in charge here. Also, please keep my identity confidential.”
Doris Young understood that the Wade Family was very influential for them, the Emgrand Group was insignificant, so it made sense that he wouldn’t manage it personally.
Quickly, she replied, “Mr. Wade, if you need anything in the future, just let me know.”
At that moment, a female secretary knocked on the door and stated, “Vice President Young, a man named Gerald White is here to see you along with his fiance.”
Doris Young immediately responded, “I have a distinguished guest, so please ask them to wait.”
Charlie inquired, “Do you know this Gerald White?”
Doris Young quickly explained, “Gerald White’s family is one of our partners. Their main business relies on us and they have expressed interest in visiting multiple times.”
Charlie said coldly, “From now on, Emgrand Group will cease all business dealings with the White Family. All current and planned cooperations should be terminated. If the White Family ends up making any money from Emgrand Group, you, as the Vice Chairman, may as well not work here!”
When Doris Young heard this, her expression froze. It was clear that someone from the White family must have offended Young Master. She nodded immediately and promised, “Young Master, don’t worry. I will issue the order to terminate all cooperation with the White Family now!”
Charlie grunted in acknowledgment, adding, “Let them know that Emgrand Group will not collaborate with low-grade people and have security escort them out.”
Outside, Gerald White and Wendy waited with excitement.

The Secretary disregarded him and instructed the security guards beside her, “Take them out!”
The security captain immediately approached, grabbing Gerald White’s wrist and twisting it behind him forcefully.
Gerald White screamed in pain as Captain Chen spoke coldly, “Get out! If you dare to cause trouble at Emgrand Group, I won’t hesitate to deal with you!”
Gerald White shouted “You’re just a security captain and you dare to yell at me? Do you know who I am?”
As soon as Gerald White finished, Captain Chen slapped him across the face and retorted, “Who are you compared to Emgrand Group?”
After being slapped, Gerald White’s face burned with pain. Just as he was about to explode in anger, his phone suddenly rang.
The call was from his father.
Once connected, a furious roar came from the other end, “You idiot, what trouble did you cause? Now Emgrand Group has decided to terminate all cooperation with us! Who did you offend?”
Gerald White responded, feeling wronged, “Dad, I didn’t offend anyone. I only came to see Vice President Young and I haven’t even met her yet…”
On the other end, Gerald White’s father yelled, “The people at Emgrand Group said they terminated cooperation because you are a useless person of low quality! Now our family is facing significant losses because of you. Hurry back and explain yourself to Grandpa!”
Gerald White was ushered out of the Emgrand Group gates by security, holding his phone in disbelief. He suddenly thought of Charlie and asked Wendy, “Wendy, is this because of your useless brother-in-law? Does he have any ties to the Emgrand Group?”
“Ah?” Wendy was taken aback by Gerald White’s comment. Upon further reflection, it was indeed possible that her seemingly useless brother-in-law had something to do with this. But he seemed so obviously worthless!
Thinking this, she quickly shook her head and stated, “No way! How could he be connected to Emgrand Group? He wouldn’t even qualify to clean their toilets!”
“That’s true…” Gerald White nodded, but thinking of his enraged father, he added glumly, “I need to get home quickly…”
News that the White family had been terminated from all cooperation with Emgrand Group spread across Aurous Hill instantly.

Doris Young was pleasantly surprised. She quickly stood up and bowed to Charlie, saying, “Thank you, Mr. Wade!”
Charlie nodded and added, “I also want you to make two announcements to the public.”
Dories requested “Young Master, please go ahead.”
“The first announcement is to inform everyone that Emgrand Group has a new owner and a new chairman has taken office. However, do not reveal the new chairman’s identity, simply reveal the surname Wade.”
“The second announcement is that Emgrand Group will invest 2 billion dollars in Aurous Hill to build a six-star hotel while also launching a bidding process for partners. Construction and decoration companies in the city are invited to participate!”

He parked the scooter in a corner of the Emgrand Group’s parking lot. Just as he locked it up, a black Bentley glided into a parking space across from him.
Casually glancing up, Charlie noticed a young man and woman getting out of the car.
The man was dressed in a high-end suit, looking quite dapper, while the woman was flamboyantly dressed. Though her attire was a bit over the top, she was undeniably beautiful.
To Charlie’s surprise, it was Claire’s cousin, Wendy, accompanied by her fiance, Gerald White, the eldest son of the White family.
Charlie couldn’t quite figure out what Wendy and Gerald were doing at the Emgrand Group, so he decided it was best to avoid them.
However, things took a turn for the worse when Wendy, with her sharp eyes, spotted him and exclaimed loudly, “Oh, brother-in-law!”
Though Wendy called him brother-in-law in a cheerful manner, it gave Charlie a headache as her words echoed in his ears.
Out of politeness, he paused and waited for them to approach, smiling as he greeted, “Wendy, what brings you here?”
Wendy giggled, “Gerald and I are here to visit Doris Young, the Vice Chairman of Emgrand Group!”
She then looked at Gerald with admiration, adding, “Gerald’s Family collaborates a lot with Emgrand Group. This will not only help the White Family but also our Wilson Family.”
Charlie was unaware of the White Family’s connections with Emgrand Group. After all, it had only recently come under his management and he hadn’t yet familiarized himself with it.
He concealed his ignorance with a smile, saying, “Young Master White has truly remarkable poise and capabilities. You both are a wonderful match!”
Gerald White cast a disdainful glance at Charlie, feeling a sense of indignation rising within him.
This pathetic loser had been berated by Lady Wilson just yesterday, yet here he was, grinning as if nothing had happened.
Why would a stunning woman like Claire choose to marry such a loser? If it weren’t for this loser, he would definitely pursue Claire without hesitation instead of being engaged to Wendy, who fell short in every regard.
With these thoughts, Gerald’s mood soured and he deliberately asked, “What are you doing at Emgrand Group, brother-in-law?”
Charlie replied casually, “I’m here looking for a job.”
“Looking for a job?” Gerald scoffed. “You’re a loser who can’t do anything and you still think you can find work at Emgrand Group?”
Charlie frowned, “What does my job search have to do with you?”
Wendy seized the moment to mock him. Seeing Gerald take the lead, she smugly interjected, “What? Is Gerald wrong?
“Do you need a diploma, you loser? You need skills, you imbecile. How can you be a good person?”
“A good person like you wouldn’t even get hired as a security guard at Emgrand Group. Why not consider picking up trash instead? It might earn you a couple thousand a month!”
With that, she tossed the empty drink bottle from her hand onto the ground by Charlie’s feet and sneered, “See, I’m not being unkind. Pick up this bottle and maybe sell it for some cash!”
Gerald chuckled and said, “Even though you’re pathetic, since we’re family, I should at least look out for you. I have some connections with the Vice Chairman of Emgrand Group, do you want me to put in a good word for you about a toilet cleaning job?”
Charlie shot back with a cold smile, “You don’t need to worry about the type of job I’m seeking. You should be more concerned about yourself. Emgrand Group is a significant company. I seriously doubt they’d want to collaborate with someone as lowly as you.”
Furious, Gerald spat, “Who are you calling lowly?”
Charlie retorted with disdain, “You, obviously!”
With that, he lost interest in the confrontation and proceeded into the Emgrand Group Building.
“Hey, stop right there!” Gerald quickly followed him and caught up at the elevator entrance.
He had wanted to teach this Charlie Wade a lesson, perhaps even give him a few slaps to show him the consequences of crossing him.
But seeing that they were already inside the Emgrand Group Building, he feared taking action here might upset his business partners, so he reluctantly shelved his plans for revenge.
Through gritted teeth, he warned, “I’ll let you off today, but next time won’t be so easy!”
Charlie merely snorted, stepping into the elevator as he remarked, “Gerald White, do you honestly think you’re so impressive? You’ll soon learn the cost of your arrogance!”
“Darn you…” Gerald lunged forward, about to storm into the elevator after him.
Wendy pulled him back, rolling her eyes. “Gerald, don’t share an elevator with this kind of loser. You might get sick from his stench.”
Gerald nodded, recognizing he couldn’t fight him here and replied coldly, “Just wait, I’ll make you pay for this next time!”
Charlie rode the elevator straight to the top floor, where the Chairman’s Office was situated.

Charlie laughed and said, “Alright! This time, that jerk Harold has to honor the bet and kneel down to me!”
Claire nodded, adding, “He’s so arrogant and looks down on everyone; it’s about time he learns a lesson!”
In truth, Claire had her own pride. Harold and his associates had belittled her and her husband in every possible way. Now that she had struck a cooperation agreement, she desired for them to show more restraint in the future.

Inside the meeting room, the Wilson family members wore peculiar expressions.

Harold, with a cold demeanor, added, “Claire, you’re making a mockery of grandma and all of us!”
He then turned to Lady Wilson and insisted, “Grandma! Claire is a traitor! You can’t let her off easily!”
Lady Wilson’s anger flared. She sensed that even a 30 million deal was exceedingly unrealistic. Claire had left for half an hour and returned claiming she had signed for 60 million…

He continued, “Anyone who backs out or cheats will face dire consequences!”
Several male classmates nearby erupted into chatter. Upon hearing the commotion, students from upstairs rushed out, gathering around in groups of twenty to thirty in eager anticipation of the spectacle.
Everyone believed Charlie was foolish. How could he challenge a 540 with a 520? This was a long, straight road—driving speed had little to do with skill and everything to do with performance.
A 520, no matter how expertly driven, couldn’t possibly outperform a 540!
It seemed that Charlie’s brand-new BMW 520 was destined to be written off!
Claire was also trying to convince Charlie, saying, “Charlie, don’t let him provoke you. He’s doing this on purpose, we shouldn’t compete with him.”

“Alright,” Charlie said, nodding. “How should we race?”

Charlie nodded and switched his BMW 760 into sports mode.
The BMW 760 featured a 6.6-liter engine with 585 horsepower.
In contrast, Clinton Tucker’s BMW 540 had a 3.0-liter engine with 340 horsepower.
With half the engine size and 245 horsepower less, the performance gap was colossal!
However, Clinton Tucker had no clue that Charlie’s 520 was actually a top-tier 760, he believed victory was already in his grasp.
The student in charge of the countdown shouted, “Ready! 3, 2, 1!”
As soon as the count finished, Clinton Tucker slammed the accelerator to the floor!
He was confident that Charlie would lose, but he wanted the defeat to be particularly humiliating, so he aimed to drive as fast as possible!
But he was caught off guard when a dark figure zipped past on his right side, quickly leaving him in the dust!
It was Charlie’s BMW 520!
Clinton Tucker could hardly believe his eyes! What the heck! How could this be happening! It was utterly impossible!
His BMW 520 had only 184 horsepower, while his own car boasted 340 horsepower, nearly double! How could Charlie overtake him so effortlessly!?
The onlookers were equally stunned!
No one anticipated that Charlie the one everyone expected to lose would rocket past Clinton Tucker like a bullet, leaving him far behind!
Before Clinton Tucker even made it halfway, Charlie had already turned around at the intersection!
When Clinton Tucker finally attempted to turn around, Charlie was already back at the starting point!
Charlie had won! And he achieved victory by a landslide!
As Clinton Tucker turned, he found Charlie celebrating with Claire at the finish line and he felt his world collapsing.
What on earth was happening!

No! This guy must have modified his car!
Unbelievable! You tricked me with a modified car? How could you!
Grinding his teeth, he drove back to the crowd, where Charlie was already basking in applause and reveling in his victory.
All the classmates around were baffled. They still couldn’t fathom why Charlie’s 520 was so incredibly fast!
Clinton Tucker parked the car, stormed out and shouted angrily, “You’ve got to be kidding me, Charlie! You drove a modified car to cheat me, right? This race doesn’t count! The power of that modified car far exceeds mine, how can we fairly compare?”
Charlie replied with a sneer, “Hey, Clinton Tucker, you just claimed that power doesn’t matter, what counts are skill and courage. Yet now that you’ve lost, you’re trying to create excuses?”
“I didn’t!” Clinton Tucker retorted, panic briefly flashing across his face. “You’re the one who cheated, not me!”
Loreen scoffed, “Clinton Tucker, you’re dishonest, that’s really pathetic! Don’t forget the toxic oath you just swore whoever refuses to accept defeat should face grave consequences!”
“Exactly!” Many classmates who had initially come to see Charlie fail were now disgruntled with Clinton Tucker. It became clear he couldn’t handle losing. Despite being older, he wasn’t brave enough to uphold the agreement he initiated.
One person said, “Clinton Tucker, stop being boring. We all witnessed it. You wanted to race Charlie, saying that motivation wasn’t important. Now that you’ve lost, you’re trying to escape a bet. Isn’t it obvious you’d rather run away than accept defeat?”
“Yeah!” A girl chimed in. “Clinton Tucker, we all thought you were a man of your word, but now it turns out you’re just a coward who breaks promises!”
Another added, “Now I see the real Clinton Tucker. He’s double standards incarnate! If Charlie lost, he would have never given Charlie a pass! Now that he’s lost, he’s resorting to being a sore loser. What a joke!”
Clinton Tucker’s face turned pale. Truth be told, he had recently purchased this car for over $700,000 and he had no intention of burning it, especially not over a bet!
This was his prized possession! He wouldn’t allow so much as a minor scratch or speck of dust on it; how could he even consider throwing firecrackers in and lighting them?
However, with so many classmates watching, it was clear he had lost their support. If he continued to act like a sore loser, his classmates would likely shun him in the future.
People would start saying he played dirty after losing, that he would rather risk his whole family’s well-being than honor his bet.
With those thoughts swirling in his mind, he felt his resolve crumbling. If he didn’t set the firecrackers off, his reputation would be destroyed!
Just then, Charlie spoke up, “Clinton Tucker, we’re all classmates. We shouldn’t take this too seriously just because we were joking around. Your car is quite valuable, and if you can’t bear to damage it, then don’t.”
Clinton Tucker breathed a quick sigh of relief.
But the students nearby began to murmur, “Wow! Charlie is really generous, look at Clinton Tucker, how embarrassing!”
“Exactly! Charlie noticed he couldn’t handle losing, so he gave him a way out!”
Clinton Tucker’s pride flared up he roared, “Who said I can’t afford to lose? Where are those firecrackers? Hand them over! If I can afford the gamble, I can certainly afford the stake!”

Loreen was taken aback. She didn’t expect Harold to have such connections in Aurous Hill. Compared to Charlie, he had a lot more influence.
It seems that if I can get closer to him in Aurous Hill, it will make my daily life much easier.
The man in black guided everyone respectfully to the door of the diamond box.
He then retrieved the list and handed it directly to Charlie, saying softly, “Sir, please sign here.”
This diamond box was reserved for Charlie, so he needed to sign to confirm his presence.
Charlie took the paper and pen with a smile and was about to write his name when Harold’s voice suddenly interrupted.
“Put the pen down immediately!”
Harold approached with a dark expression, snatched the paper and pen from Charlie’s hand, signed his name quickly, and scolded Charlie, “What a joke! Don’t you know who booked the box? You’re not qualified to sign it!”
The man in black was taken aback. He glanced at Charlie, silently asking if he should step in and teach this disrespectful idiot a lesson.
Charlie replied calmly, “It’s fine. If he wants to sign, let him.”
In front of Loreen, Charlie didn’t want to escalate the situation. After all, she was his wife’s close friend.
Soon, everyone settled in the box.
Harold arranged for Loreen to sit in the main seat while Charlie found himself at a corner, with only Loreen occasionally engaging him in conversation.
Before long, a feast of exquisite dishes and fine wines was brought in by the waiter.
The meals were prepared from the finest ingredients, with premium abalone and ten kilograms of Australian lobster served as mere accompaniments.
Even the wine was a century-old national treasure, with a half-kilogram bottle costing over 100,000.
Loreen, well-acquainted with luxury, was also taken aback by the opulence of the meal.
Gerald White exclaimed, “Harold, how much did this meal cost?”
Harold replied proudly, “This meal is worth 300,000 dollars.”
Gerald White responded in surprise, “This isn’t just 300,000 dollars. These bottles of wine alone must exceed 300,000!”
Harold’s confidence wavered as he recalled the black-clothed man’s earlier attitude—could it be that Don Albert had granted him special treatment?
But he hardly knew him!
Loreen’s beautiful eyes sparkled as she regarded Harold with newfound admiration and said, “Harold, thank you!”
Harold smiled and responded, “No, no, this is just what we should do.”
Turning to Charlie, he grinned and said, “Charlie, surely you’ve never had food this good, right?”
Charlie smirked and replied, “What gives you that idea?”
Harold retorted contemptuously, “You’ve had my food, yet you still act tough! If you’d had the chance to enjoy such quality before, I would have personally taken the risk of letting you kick my head around like a soccer ball!”
Charlie smiled indifferently. The luxurious life he led as a child was well beyond what most could imagine. To him, this meal was merely typical fare from the Wade family.
Seeing Charlie’s stubbornness, Wendy snapped, “Charlie, what’s with your attitude toward my brother? Do you want me to throw you out right now? I invited you for a complimentary meal, and still, you have the audacity to act shamelessly! You’re such a loser!”
However, just then, the door to the box was kicked open, and a fierce voice shouted, “Who let you idiots in here? What do you think you’re doing in this box?”
Moments later, a man dressed in a flashy suit with a thick gold chain appeared, brandishing a stick and displaying a menacing scar that stretched from the corner of his eye to his chin.
He held a list in one hand and a stick in the other, his expression fierce!
Following him was a group of over a dozen burly men covered in tattoos and scars, encircling everyone.
Everyone froze in shock and panic. What was happening?
The leader, known as Bill The Bear, was a right-hand man to Don Albert. Having fought alongside him in the past, he was well-respected throughout Aurous Hill.
Don Albert had sent him to ensure everything was perfect for Mr. Wade, who wished to use the diamond box at Heaven Springs.
However, upon checking the box’s reservation, Bill The Bear discovered it had been signed out by a scoundrel named Harold, igniting both anger and concern within him.
He was furious that Harold had occupied the box meant for important guests and worried that there wouldn’t be enough space left for the true prestigious clients.
Harold stood up and confronted him, “What’s going on? I reserved this box—why are you barging in here and causing a scene?”
Bill The Bear pointed at Harold and demanded, “Are you Harold Wilson?”
Harold nodded, puffing out his chest in pride, “Yes, that’s me!”
Bill The Bear replied coldly, “Bring him over here!”
Without hesitation, two muscular men grabbed Harold and dragged him forward.
“What are you doing? Let go of me!”
“What nonsense are you speaking!”
One of the men kicked Harold in the knee, causing him to yelp in pain and kneel before Bill The Bear.
Bill The Bear’s cold gaze scanned Harold, making him feel as if he was under a scrutinizing blade.
With a swift motion, he tossed the signature sheet directly onto Harold’s head.
“Who gave you permission to use this box?” Bill The Bear scolded.
Harold feigned calmness, saying, “This is a misunderstanding! I reserved this golden box in advance and paid the 300,000 deposit!”
Gerald White chimed in, “What is the meaning of all this? This box was booked by Harold; don’t you have any rules?”
Bill The Bear spat, struck Harold hard, and retorted, “Golden box? This is a diamond box set aside for distinguished guests! You think you lowlifes are qualified to use it?!”
Everyone gasped at his words.
A diamond box? No wonder this place was so extravagant—the food and wine are all top-notch; it turns out, it wasn’t a golden box at all!
Gerald White began to sweat nervously. The diamond box was so exclusive that he and his peers weren’t fit to even step inside, let alone dine here.
Wendy quickly added, “Brother, don’t you know Don Albert? You need to explain this to them.”
Harold, feeling overwhelmed, quickly interjected, “Shut up; don’t say things you don’t mean. How could I possibly know Don Albert with my background?”
Wendy responded, “But didn’t you just—”
Loreen noticed the brother and sister’s antics and realized Harold had been boasting about connections he didn’t actually possess.
She felt a twinge of disappointment.
Bill The Bear sneered, “You dare invoke Don Albert’s name? You must truly be trying to throw your life away!”
With that, Bill The Bear rose and commanded his men, “Grab this fool; I’m about to teach him a lesson.”
Harold was quickly restrained and rendered immobile!
The very next moment,
Bill The Bear swung down the stick without hesitation!
“Ah… my hand, it’s broken!”
Harold screamed in agony, his body drenched in cold sweat, humiliated to the point of fainting.
Witnessing this, Gerald and Wendy turned pale with fear.
Harold, who had been so boastful just moments ago, was instantly reduced to a pitiful state. Who wouldn’t be terrified?
Loreen trembled in fright, hiding behind Charlie and asking worriedly, “What should we do? They won’t kill anyone, right?”
Charlie reassuringly patted Loreen’s shoulder, saying, “Don’t worry, I’m here, no one will harm you.”
Loreen looked at Charlie with gratitude. She understood he might not be able to resolve such trouble, but his words gave her a semblance of comfort.
At that moment, Bill The Bear kicked Harold, who lay there like a lifeless rag, berating him, “What a coward!”
Then he turned his attention back to Gerald White.
“And you, you were the one claiming I had no rules, correct? Step forward, you!”
