The Amazing Son In Law Chapter 5

The Amazing Son In Law Chapter 5

The news released by the Emgrand Group sent shockwaves throughout Aurous Hill.

Upon learning that the Emgrand Group had changed ownership, the Wilson Family finally understood why the White Family had been ousted by them.

It appeared that the new owner of the Emgrand Group still looked down on Families like the Whites.

But who exactly is Master Wade? This man seems incredibly powerful after all, the Emgrand Group, valued at hundreds of billions, can acquire anything it desires. Even the richest individual in Aurous Hill cannot match his generosity!

As a result, numerous families were clamoring to make their move. They were eager to connect with the elusive Master Wade while simultaneously hoping for their daughters to marry him.

Moreover, the Emgrand Group announced plans for a $2 billion hotel project, which sent shockwaves through the construction and decoration industry in Aurous Hill!

$2 billion!

Even securing a small portion could lead to immense profits!

Countless companies were vying for a chance to be involved.

Among them was the money-centric Lady Wilson!

Lady Wilson was thrilled at the news. A $2 billion project presents a significant opportunity! If the Wilson family were to secure a contract, it would be a monumental success!

Thus, she immediately ordered a family meeting at home that night to strategize about how to break into the Emgrand Group’s new project, insisting that everyone must attend!

That evening at the Wilson family villa.

Since the Lady required everyone’s presence, Charlie accompanied Claire.

He was aware that the Lady planned to discuss how to obtain a share of the major project from the Emgrand Group. He wanted to seize this opportunity to help his wife, Claire, gain some recognition!

Upon arriving at the Wilson family villa, Claire’s cousin Harold wasted no time in mocking Charlie, “Seriously, Charlie, you’re unbelievable! How can you even show your face here to see grandma?”

Claire retorted coldly, “Stop talking nonsense. It was grandma who summoned everyone from the Wilson family. Charlie is my husband, so naturally, he belongs to the Wilson family!”

Harold scoffed, “He’s not a true member of the Wilson family! He’s just a son-in-law!”

Charlie rubbed his nose and said to Claire, “Let it go, dear. Don’t waste your breath on him. Let’s head in so we don’t keep grandma waiting.”

Claire nodded, ignoring Harold and entered with Charlie.

Harold’s expression soured at this, knowing trouble awaited.

Once inside the conference room, Charlie and Claire found a seat in the corner.

Soon, Lady Wilson entered and the family meeting officially commenced.

Lady Wilson took her place at the head of the table, rapped lightly on it and announced enthusiastically, “The Wilson family has been waiting for a golden opportunity for years, one that can elevate us to a wealthy family in Aurous Hill! That opportunity has finally arrived!”

Lady Wilson continued, “The Emgrand Group is launching a $2 billion project. Whoever manages to secure a collaboration contract will reap substantial rewards! And this is the first major project since the Emgrand Group changed hands. This is a fantastic opportunity for our family! If we can partner with the Emgrand Group and make a great impression on its new owner, the future of our family will be boundless!”

Despite her enthusiasm, there was a palpable silence among the attendees.

In truth, the Wilson family had long coveted a partnership with the Emgrand Group. For ages, they had been ignored, so why would the Lady suddenly believe they could secure a piece of the new project?

Noticing the silence, the Lady grew incensed and asked, “What? Has everyone lost their voices? Don’t you think you can snag even a small portion of this $2 billion project?”

Everyone exchanged glances, too intimidated to speak.

The Lady’s frustration boiled over, she gritted her teeth and declared, “Let me be clear. Whoever can negotiate a partnership share of $30 million from the Emgrand Group will become the group’s director!”

Her announcement left the room in shock.

For as long as the Lady had led, she had never established a director position after all, that title held significant power and was typically reserved for the family’s future successor.

Now she was offering the role as an incentive, hoping to spur someone into action. It was clear she felt an urgent need for the Emgrand Group project.

However, while the position of director was appealing, it wouldn’t be easily obtained.

To the Wilson family, landing a contract with the Emgrand Group for $30 million felt like a pipe dream. Even if Lady Wilson herself went in person, the executives at Emgrand would likely ignore her, let alone engage in discussions about a partnership.

The meeting hall fell into an uneasy silence.

Witnessing this, Lady Wilson snapped, “As members of the Wilson family, is there truly no one willing to help shoulder our burdens?”

She then fixed her gaze on Harold, “Harold, I want you to handle this!”

Harold chuckled nervously, “Grandma, even Gerald White’s Family has been pushed out by the Emgrand Group. Our strength is even less than that of the Whites. What chance do we have at securing a contract with them?”

Lady Wilson scolded, “Useless! You’re giving up before even trying! You’re worse than Charlie, who’s nothing but a waste!”

In truth, Lady Wilson wasn’t entirely confident herself, but she didn’t want to be stuck managing a second or third rate family indefinitely. She envisioned the Wilson family rising to greater heights.

The Emgrand Group project represented their best opportunity.

Thus, despite the challenges, she refused to let go of this chance. She had anticipated Harold, as the eldest grandson, would seize this task enthusiastically, so it disheartened her to see him hesitating.

Harold felt frustrated as well. Who would willingly take on such an impossible task? He feared being rejected before even approaching the Emgrand Group.

Not only would he fail, but it would also turn him into a laughingstock, so he was determined not to agree, no matter what.

After reprimanding Harold, Lady Wilson called out, “What about the rest of you? Does no one dare to take on this challenge?”

Charlie gently nudged Claire with his elbow and whispered, “Wife, you should take on this task!”

Claire quickly retorted, “Are you crazy? There’s no way the Emgrand Group would collaborate with a small family like the Wilsons!”

Charlie replied with a reassuring smile, “Trust me, you’ll definitely succeed in negotiating this partnership!”

Claire looked at him in surprise, “Really?”

Charlie affirmed with certainty, “Absolutely! I have no doubt you can do this! Seize this opportunity and your standing in the Wilson family will soar in the future!”

For reasons she couldn’t quite grasp, Claire suddenly felt a surge of belief in Charlie’s words.

Before she knew it, she stood up and addressed Lady Wilson, “Grandma, I’m willing to give it a shot…”

The Amazing Son In Law Chapter 15

The Amazing Son In Law Chapter 15

After leaving Emerald Court, Charlie did not immediately head home.

He wanted to give his wife a complete surprise on their wedding anniversary.

This surprise was not limited to just a jade necklace, he also wanted to present her with a romantic wedding.

Initially, Charlie and Claire had rushed into marriage at the old man’s request, leaving no time to hold a proper wedding.

The old man had planned to choose an auspicious date for a grand ceremony, but shortly after the couple obtained their marriage certificate, he fell seriously ill and had to be hospitalized, causing the wedding to be postponed.

Eventually, the old man passed away, and with no one in the Wilson family looking favorably upon Charlie, the prospect of a wedding seemed even more distant.

Now that he had the financial means, he was determined to give his wife the wedding she deserved!

When he thought of the wedding, the first place that sprang to his mind was the Sky Garden at Shangri-La!

The Shangri-La Hotel is currently the best hotel in Aurous Hill. It boasts expansive grounds, lavish decor, and a high-end shopping mall on-site.

The Sky Garden is located on the building’s top floor.

It’s named the Sky Garden because it features crystal glass construction along with premium flowers flown in fresh from abroad, giving it the appearance of an extravagant garden suspended in the air.

This is also the largest and most lavish banquet hall in Aurous Hill. Hosting a wedding here would cost at least several million dollars.

Charlie was now wealthy, and to him, millions of dollars were insignificant. Making his wife happy was what truly mattered.

Thus, he made his way to the Shangri-La Hotel, eager to book the Sky Garden for their anniversary celebration.

However, Charlie was unaware that Shangri-La implemented a membership system.

Whether one wishes to dine, stay overnight, or hold an event there, they must possess a membership card.

Additionally, different levels of membership come with different services.

Ordinary members can only dine in the lobby and stay in standard rooms,

Silver members enjoy dining in private rooms and accommodations in high-end luxury rooms,

Gold members can eat in luxury suites and have access to opulent accommodations,

Platinum members can dine in the Sky Garden and stay in ultra-luxurious suites.

The highest tier is the diamond members.

Only diamond members can book the presidential suite, and only they can reserve the entire Sky Garden for events.

Furthermore, achieving membership above the gold level is not solely dependent on wealth, one must also have adequate social status.

When Charlie arrived at Shangri-La, he was stopped by several men in black before he could enter.

“Excuse me, sir, could you please show us your membership card?”

Dressed in clothes worth no more than two hundred dollars, Charlie stood out starkly compared to the well-dressed guests around him.

He quickly responded, “I need to speak with your account manager about booking a venue.”

The guard replied coolly, “Sorry, you can’t enter without a membership card!”

Charlie asked, “Can I apply for a membership card right now?”

The guard shook his head and clarified, “Sorry, you must have an introducer to apply for a membership card.”

Frustrated, Charlie thought to himself that Shangri-La was being overly difficult.

Just when he felt stuck, he suddenly remembered that a college classmate named Sabrina, who was connected to the Wilson family, seemed to be working there!

He quickly pulled out his phone and called Sabrina.

After he explained that he wanted to apply for a membership card, Sabrina immediately responded, “Don’t worry, Class Rep, I’ll be right over!”

Charlie expressed his gratitude warmly.

Although he and Sabrina had only known each other for a year during college, there was still some friendship between them, and he felt he would need to repay her kindness in the future.

“Oh, Class Rep!”

A few minutes later, a woman exclaimed brightly as she stepped through the hotel entrance.

Charlie looked up to see a woman dressed in professional attire, heavily made up and exuding charm, coming toward him.

Sabrina? Wow, she has changed so much! I barely recognized her!

The two security guards in black quickly straightened up and respectfully greeted her, “Team Leader Lee.”

In surprise, Charlie said, “Sabrina, it’s been a few years! You’ve become a team leader at Shangri-La! That’s impressive!”

Sabrina smiled modestly, “Thank you, Team Leader. I’m just a team leader in the human resources department, really just a small leader in the ranks here at Shangri-La.”

Charlie sincerely praised, “That’s still quite an accomplishment. I’ve heard that Shangri-La has very high standards for management. You should be proud!”

Sabrina beamed with a hint of pride before turning to the two security guards beside her and demanding coldly, “So, you two are the ones who stopped my university classmate from entering?”

The guards exchanged nervous glances, and one hurriedly replied, “I’m sorry, Team Leader Lee. I didn’t realize he was your classmate, and he didn’t have a membership card. I was just following the hotel’s rules…”

Sabrina scoffed, “Rules are just rules, people matter more. Don’t you understand that?”

Worried that Sabrina might reprimand them, Charlie quickly interjected, “Sabrina, please don’t make things difficult for them, they’re just following the rules.”

Sabrina glanced at Charlie and then burst into laughter. Suddenly, she changed her tone and remarked sarcastically, “Class Rep, you’re taking this too seriously. Did you honestly think I’d make things tough for my subordinates for your sake?”

Charlie frowned, “Sabrina, what’s that supposed to mean?”

“What do you think it means?” Sabrina teased, a smirk on her face. “Isn’t it clear? You, a hopeless underachiever, think you can just waltz into Shangri-La? Trust me, you can forget about it for life!”

Charlie clenched his fists, asking her, “What do you mean by that?”

“I’m just having some fun!” Sabrina laughed, adding, “Back in college, I didn’t think much of you. You were just a loser focused on studying who couldn’t even afford a basic stir-fried dish in the cafeteria. You calling yourself a class leader? You really should take a look in the mirror!”

With a dark expression, Charlie replied, “Sabrina, I don’t believe I’ve ever done anything to provoke you. Why do you keep ridiculing me?”

The Amazing Son In Law Chapter 92

The Amazing Son In Law Chapter 92

Travis Lane was a prominent figure, and he was enraged by Jack Yaleman’s remarks. “What do you mean by that?” he demanded.

“Mr. Lane, let me confront him!” Matthew Gibson interjected, stepping forward with a commanding voice. “If you try to stop me again, don’t blame me for my harshness!”

As Matthew Gibson prepared to take action, the crowd erupted in cheers.

“Master Gibson, let this insolent Taoist from Gangcheng feel the strength of our Newton master.”

“An outsider dares to try and unify this metaphysical community? Such a foolish ambition!”

“Send him packing! Newton won’t stand for his antics.”

Jack Yaleman smirked coldly, replying, “If you don’t believe me, then go ahead and try!”

Fueled by anger, Matthew Gibson launched a powerful punch at Jack Yaleman, clearly displaying his formidable strength.

“Is that all you’ve got?” In an instant, Jack Yaleman had evaded, appearing right in front of Matthew Gibson. He swiftly placed a yellow talisman on Matthew Gibson’s forehead with a resounding snap.

“What incredible speed,” Jasmine exclaimed, taken aback.

Matthew Gibson froze as if struck by a spell, his body rigid with only his eyes darting around in panic.

Jack Yaleman maintained his composure, a slight smile on his face as he commanded, “Lie down!”

“Thud!” Matthew Gibson obeyed, collapsing onto all fours.

“Mr. Gibson!” Travis Lane gasped in disbelief, shouting out in surprise.

The onlookers exchanged shocked glances, rendered speechless.

With that singular action, Matthew Gibson was left utterly defenseless, demonstrating the true extent of Jack Yaleman’s power!

Overcome with rage, Matthew Gibson lay on the ground, hurling insults but unable to control his body, exclaiming, “Old fool! What kind of dark magic is this?”

“With your limited abilities, how dare you challenge me?” Jack Yaleman scoffed, suddenly barking, “Learn to howl like a dog!”

Matthew Gibson’s eyes widened in horror as he desperately tried to clamp his mouth shut.

Yet, his mouth was beyond his control, unleashing a dry “woof woof” sound against his will.

Travis Lane stood frozen, nearly collapsing from shock.

Matthew Gibson, over sixty years old, was now humiliated, lying in front of Jack Yaleman, barking like a dog.

What was initially a comical scene turned into a deathly silence.

The crowd was engulfed in dread, a chill running down their spines.

Jack Yaleman had effortlessly taken down two masters in under ten minutes, how formidable could he be?

“Puppetry! This is the long-lost Xenia puppetry!” Finn murmured in shock.

As his words sunk in, gasps rippled through the onlookers.

Puppetry, a secret technique rooted in Xenia, had long been thought lost, known only to those who commanded corpses.

They hadn’t imagined witnessing it firsthand, underscoring Jack Yaleman’s profound and unfathomable lost skills, no one present posed a match for him!

Matthew Gibson lay there in profound embarrassment, his face flushed red, utterly powerless, wishing he could vanish.

With a wave of his hand, Jack Yaleman rendered Matthew Gibson limp and humiliated on the ground.

“What now, Master Gibson? Are you convinced?” Zeke White chuckled.

Clenching his teeth, blood seeping from them, Matthew Gibson bitterly stammered, “I… I concede…”

The utterance of his defeat plunged the yard into a heavy silence; not a single soul dared to speak.

Turning his attention to Charlie, Jack Yaleman stated, “You stole my giant clam treasure that day. Now that you see my mastery, do you still have the audacity to act arrogantly?”

Charlie shrugged, unimpressed. “Are your two tricks really considered magic?”

Jasmine quickly interjected, pulling Charlie aside. “You need to back down now. Jack Yaleman is genuinely powerful. Don’t risk your life for foolish pride.”

Jack Yaleman sneered, “You’re young and reckless. Tell me, are you ready to challenge me? If you lose, return my giant clam and kneel to apologize!”

Charlie smiled nonchalantly. “Compete? Who do you think you are? I’m not worthy of fighting someone like you.”

Gasps spread through the audience, this kid was brazen! Did he really want to court disaster?

The courtyard fell into a heavy hush.

Jasmine stood in shock now that he had said that, peaceful resolution seemed impossible…

Jack Yaleman erupted into laughter, stepping closer to Charlie. “In all my life, I’ve encountered many people, but none have sought their demise quite like you.”

Charlie replied, “It’s not a certainty who will survive this encounter.”

With a murderous glint in his eyes, Jack Yaleman was ready to strike.

Just then, a group burst through the door, exuding a fierce energy.

Leading them was Adam. Spotting Charlie, he immediately exclaimed, “Charlie, you fraud! You masqueraded as a god and deceived my uncle! You’ve swindled my family, using it to pretend to be rich at the auction. Thankfully, Mr. Yaleman has seen through your schemes! Hand over the money at once, or my family will not forgive you!”

Before his voice faded, Graham and Aurora entered, too late to rein in Adam’s harsh words. The situation felt awkward.

Charlie cast a calm glance at him, choosing silence.

However, that single look sent shivers down Graham’s spine, instilling a deep fear. He turned to Adam, scolding him, before quickly explaining to Charlie with a nervous chuckle, “Mr. Wade, here’s what happened…”

Graham laid everything bare.

Charlie merely frowned slightly and coldly replied, “It’s just over 100 million. Repayment isn’t an issue if you regret it.”

“Mr. Wade, please don’t say that! How could I possibly ask you for a refund! I came today out of respect for your reputation as a Master. I wanted to see your skills firsthand.”

Graham was uncertain whether Charlie was truly capable or just an impressive fraud, but being quick-witted, he refrained from confrontations.

Though he praised Charlie, he was torn. Unable to gauge Charlie’s true strength, he figured it was better for Jack Yaleman to take the lead.

If Charlie revealed his abilities in front of Jack Yaleman, he would not be treated lightly. The money spent might need to be repaid, with heavy interest.

With a wry smile, he said, “Then I won’t take up more of your time. You masters go on with your competition, let’s discuss this later. Everyone, focus on the matter at hand.”

Adam wanted to retort angrily, but Graham shot him a fierce glare that silenced him.

Seeing this, Jack Yaleman laughed at Graham’s predicament. “You arrived just in time. I know the Quinton family has faced challenges recently. Charlie displayed his talents within your family and today, I will duel him and eliminate your future troubles! Charlie, if you don’t have the heart to compete, not only will you perish today, but I will also unleash my magic to annihilate your entire family afterward!”

Charlie frowned, smirking as he replied, “If you’ve chosen death, so be it.”

The Amazing Son In Law Chapter 34

The Amazing Son In Law Chapter 34

Seeing that Charlie agreed to the class reunion, Claire reminded him, “Douglas’s restaurant is opening, so we should prepare some gifts; we can’t go empty-handed.”

Charlie nodded and replied, “I’ll pick up a gift for him tomorrow morning.”

“Great,” Claire said. “It just so happens that I need to go to Emgrand Group tomorrow morning.”

Loreen exclaimed in surprise, “You’re coming to Emgrand tomorrow morning? Then find me when you’re done. I can take your car to Douglas’s restaurant at noon.”

Claire smiled and replied, “Sorry to burst your bubble, but I don’t have a car. I usually take a taxi or the bus and sometimes Charlie picks me up on his electric bike.”

“Really?” Loreen asked incredulously. “You’re already a director, yet you haven’t bought a car yet!”

Claire explained, “I haven’t been working for long and I’ve hardly made much money. Charlie and I have expenses to cover and I also support my mother. I can only save a few thousand dollars a month, which is not enough for a car.”

Additionally, Claire added, “Honestly, I think the bus is quite convenient. When the weather is nice, it’s actually pleasant to ride on Charlie’s electric bike.”

Loreen said earnestly, “You really need to pay more attention to appearances. After all, you’re now the director of Wilson Group and a direct partner of Emgrand. If you don’t even have a car, people will start to talk.”

Charlie felt that Loreen had a point. His wife had always been overly frugal, most of her earnings went to her mother, leaving her little to enjoy life.

His mother-in-law was a glutton who only consumed without contributing. She had saved over a million dollars and made risky investments, yet couldn’t even spare 200,000 or 300,000 dollars to buy a car for her daughter.

Realizing this, he felt it was necessary to buy a car for his wife, so that she would have more convenience and prestige when conducting her business.

Resolved, he made up his mind to visit the 4S store first thing the next morning.

After dinner, the couple bid farewell to Loreen and took a taxi home together.

The taxi’s radio was discussing the Shangri-La Sky Garden being completely booked out.

The host was astonished, noting that it was the first time in history that Shangri-La had made such an exception. He expressed curiosity about who could wield such influence.

The taxi driver chimed in, “I reckon the person who booked the Sky Garden must be the ridiculously wealthy person featured in that viral TikTok video!”

Charlie remained silent, though he felt a bit surprised. It appeared that news about the Sky Garden being booked by someone had created quite a buzz throughout Aurous Hill!

That night, the story continued to spread and soon everyone in the city was aware of it!

Everyone knew that the Shangri-La Hotel operated on a membership basis, and only senior members had access to the Sky Garden! As for booking the venue, diamond members didn’t even qualify!

Thus, who managed to book the Sky Garden became a topic of great intrigue!

Some speculated the booker was the wealthy individual who had gained national popularity on TikTok,

Others suggested it was a wealthy overseas client,

Some even claimed the booker had a mysterious identity and was planning a grand, romantic wedding…

Naturally, the third rumor seemed most believable!

This sparked renewed excitement in the market!

After hearing this, countless women felt envious and jealous.

Everyone speculated on who the lucky woman could be, to whom someone would spend millions overnight to book the entire Sky Garden as a declaration of love!

Many people eagerly anticipated that day, wanting to be there to witness it!

To maintain his anonymity, Charlie specifically instructed Isaac Cameron to make special arrangements for the entire Sky Garden. Meanwhile, he looked forward to the arrival of their wedding anniversary!

He wanted to give Claire a magnificent wedding celebration on that special day!

The next morning, Charlie set out early to visit the 4S store. He held a bank card worth 10 billion in his hand, which he hadn’t used much until now.

This time, he planned to buy Claire a luxury car worthy of display.

He initially considered purchasing a Rolls-Royce outright.

However, after some thought, he worried it would be difficult to explain such a lavish vehicle to her. Moreover, Claire had always favorably preferred a low profile. Even if he owned such an expensive car, she would likely hesitate to drive it.

So he decided to opt for a business car worth around 500,000 dollars, something prestigious but not overly ostentatious and practical enough that he wouldn’t feel terrible if it got scratched or bumped.

With that in mind, he decided to consider getting Claire an Audi A6. Businesspeople commonly drove A6 vehicles as they were quite reputable. Furthermore, the A6 was an extended executive model, making it suitable for Claire to use.

He arrived at the Audi 4S store, parked his electric bike out front, and walked inside.

As a few sales associates saw a customer enter, two immediately prepared to greet him.

However, a woman behind them rushed to say, “Oh, this person came on an electric bike. I bet he’s just here to use the air conditioning or WiFi. Ignore him.”

Upon hearing he arrived on an electric bike, their interest quickly waned.

Given the recent hot weather, many less affluent individuals would come in early just to enjoy the cool air and sometimes they shamelessly sat in the display cars, forcing security to intervene. This behavior often frustrated the sales staff.

Charlie, riding an electric bike and dressed in casual attire, blended in and wasn’t someone who seemed capable of purchasing an Audi.

Disregarding their judgment, Charlie made his way directly to the display area of the A6 sedan, noticing the prices ranged from 300,000 to over 600,000. The model priced over 600,000 was the top configuration of the A6, the extended executive version.

To be honest, the car looked exceptional!

The price of over 600,000 dollars wasn’t unreasonable, Claire should be able to accept it. He then stated, “Do you have a new model of the top-end A6? I’d like to take it home right now!”

The sales associates looked at him as if he were joking, and one scoffed, “Did you miss a zero? Have you seen the price?”

Charlie furrowed his brow, responding, “Six hundred and eighteen thousand dollars. I saw it clearly.”

The salesperson sneered, “So you saw it and are still shouting? Do you really think you can afford it? When it comes time to pay, with so many eyes on you, you’ll be embarrassed!”

Coldly, Charlie retorted, “Are you feeling ill? Did you forget your medication this morning? Would you like me to call an ambulance for you?”

The man huffed dismissively, “Save it. Don’t try to show off to me here, I can easily have security escort you out. A poor guy like you, leeching off air conditioning and WiFi, still trying to act important?”

The Amazing Son In Law Chapter 50

The Amazing Son In Law Chapter 50

Charlie was filled with joy and immediately prepared to grasp the “Apocalyptic Book” tightly in his arms.

To his surprise, the book instantly turned to dust and vanished.

Nonetheless, every word from the book was vividly etched in Charlie’s mind.

At that moment, his fleeing father-in-law was forcibly returned by several strong men.

Seeing that his face was red and swollen, it was evident that he had been caught and beaten!

Charlie looked at his father-in-law’s humiliating state and couldn’t help but feel amused inside.

This old man, who created chaos and wanted to place the blame on him, was truly unreasonable! Letting him learn his lesson was a fitting punishment.

Jacob, Charlie’s father-in-law, was particularly humiliated at that moment. Having just run for his life, he was exhausted.

Without his car keys, he struggled to run quickly, his age and weight making it impossible for him to compete with the younger men.

Not long after, he was captured and restrained, receiving several slaps along the way. It was truly pitiful.

As a group brought Jacob back Raymond Cole, the manager, gritted his teeth and said, “Old man, do you think you can escape after breaking our Vase? Maybe you should inquire about the background of our Vintage Deluxe!”

Jacob stammered in panic, “I didn’t mean to, the Vase was just too slippery…”

Raymond retorted coldly, “Don’t waste my time! You have until this afternoon to raise the money. If you can’t pay, I’ll report you to the police for intentional damage to property. A value of over 5 million is enough to put you behind bars for life!”

Trembling in fear, Jacob turned to Charlie, as if he saw a lifeline, “Charlie, my good son-in-law! You can’t just watch me go down like this!”

Charlie sighed helplessly, “Dad, I don’t have that kind of money!”

Jacob quickly shot back, “Then you should go to jail in my place! My Wilson family has raised you for so long, it’s time for you to repay the favor!”

Charlie thought, how could you possibly say that?

Just as he was about to refuse, the middle-aged man interjected, “Every action has its consequences and we at Vintage Deluxe pride ourselves on our integrity. You broke the Vase, so you must pay for it!”

Then he addressed Charlie, “You can leave, but I suggest you help him raise enough money. Otherwise, this afternoon, I’ll send him to the police station!”

Charlie simply nodded.

Meanwhile, Jacob, now panicking, pleaded, “My dear son-in-law, you can’t just leave! What will I do without you here?”

Seeing his father-in-law’s desperation, Charlie couldn’t help but chuckle internally.

However, he maintained a serious demeanor. He was just considering how to find a reason to raise some funds and then leave Jacob to face the situation a bit longer.

Suddenly, he recalled a method for repairing porcelain artifacts mentioned in the “Apocalyptic Book,” prompting him to suggest, “Manager Cole, if I can repair that jade pot spring bottle, will you let my father-in-law go?”

Raymond sneered, “Who do you think you are? You plan to fix antiques? I’ve already sent photos to Aurous Hill’s relic appraisal experts. They said it’s irreparable in this condition.”

Charlie shook his head, “Your bottle is already broken anyway, so what’s the harm in trying? You won’t lose anything.”

Raymond snorted derisively, “You won’t give up until it’s too late, huh? Fine! Let’s see what you can do!”

Charlie replied, “I need some rice paper, a brush and five raw eggs.”

Raymond, anticipating a spectacle, quickly fetched a basket of raw eggs for Charlie, unable to hide his mocking tone, “Repairing antiques with eggs? I’ve never heard of such a thing. I warn you, don’t try anything funny. Either you pay up, or we take your father-in-law to court. Five million is enough to keep him in prison for life.”

Charlie nodded, “What if I actually repair it?”

Raymond scoffed, “If it’s truly restored to a standard that professionals agree upon and the majority of losses can be recovered, then you can leave!”

“Deal!” Charlie affirmed, then immediately began working. He grabbed the brush and sketched the outline of the jade pot spring bottle on the rice paper.

Next, he cracked an egg, dipped his finger in the egg white and applied it to a piece of the broken bottle before pressing it onto the paper model. He then selected another fragment, layering it in place until the model was gradually covered with antique pieces…

Everyone fell silent, afraid to disrupt his restoration process.

Half an hour later, when Charlie stood up again, a Tang Dynasty jade huchun bottle that appeared as if it had just been created was displayed before everyone.

He smiled at Raymond, “Take a look and see if you can find any flaws.”

Raymond picked up the bottle, examined it closely and then said scornfully, “Is this a joke? You think you can fix it with egg liquid? Why don’t I just break your legs and see how that works with egg liquid?”

“Don’t touch the bottle!”

Suddenly, a crisp and urgent voice rang out from the doorway.

A strikingly beautiful woman in a white casual suit strode in, exuding an air of elegance. She stood nearly 5.7″ and radiated luxury, her eyes scanning the room, filled with an icy arrogance that resembled a queen’s demeanor.

Upon recognizing her, Raymond’s expression changed drastically, and he bowed his head, saying respectfully, “Miss, what brings you here?”

The newcomer was Jasmine Moore, the actual owner of Vintage Deluxe and the eldest daughter of the prestigious Moore family from Aurous Hill.

Jasmine huffed coldly and replied, “I fear that if I didn’t come, you’d let this store go to ruin! What is happening here?”

Raymond awkwardly smiled and quickly explained, “A customer accidentally broke a bottle while viewing it and his son-in-law is trying to repair it with an egg. I was just about to inform them that this repair is worthless and discuss compensation.”

Jasmine approached the jade huchun bottle, observing it closely before her expression suddenly shifted! She immediately turned around and scolded Raymond furiously, “Put it down! Who allowed you to touch it without understanding what it is!”

Raymond blinked in confusion, “Miss, what are you doing?”

Jasmine insisted, “This is a newly restored artifact. Only the experts who repaired it are permitted to handle it for now. Do you not understand this rule?”

Raymond hesitated, “But… this is just a paste with egg liquid. It can’t truly count as a restoration, can it?”

Jasmine’s beautiful eyes flashed with anger as she rebuked, “You fool! The value of this bottle will at least double once it’s properly restored. Just because you touched it, you may have cost us at least two million! Pack up your things, don’t bother coming tomorrow!”

She recalled a porcelain plate from the same era as the jade huchun bottle that had been auctioned in Gangcheng.

This porcelain plate held a fascinating history: broken in the Song Dynasty, it had been repaired by skilled craftsmen using the same rare method, which had long since been forgotten. Due to its rarity, it had finally sold for 13 million, far surpassing its actual value.

Now, because Charlie had managed to restore the jade pot spring bottle using the lost method, its worth was destined to skyrocket!

Raymond’s face went pale. He had never anticipated that merely touching the jade huchun vase would lead to such immense loss and cost him his job.
