The Amazing Son In Law Chapter 52
Silverwing Hospital.
Douglas lay in the emergency department, his body covered in wounds and his right leg immobilized in a cast, looking very pitiful.
Charlie couldn’t help but feel a wave of sympathy for him. Here was a grown man who had chosen the wrong woman and now he not only faced heartbreak but had also suffered a brutal beating.
When Douglas noticed Charlie’s entrance, his swollen eyes filled with tears.
“Charlie…” he managed to utter as he broke down in sobs.
Charlie approached him and said calmly, “That’s enough. She’s not worth your tears.”
Douglas sobbed as he replied, “I chased her for three years. I lost all my dignity to her. I became a yes-man. I thought I would build a life with her, but now I find I have nothing left…”
He gasped between cries, “Not only does she want to break up with me, but she also wants me to leave the house! I’ve spent most of the money I earned over the years on her and my only 100,000 savings was invested in her restaurant. Now she refuses to pay me back. I was blinded by love, how could I have liked such a cruel woman?”
Charlie tried to console him, saying, “Douglas, a man should be able to rise above setbacks. If you fall, just pick yourself up! What about the painting I gave you? You can sell it for at least 200,000, which should help you start a small business.”
Douglas nodded, saying, “The painting is right here with me. Thank goodness you reminded me to keep it otherwise, she would have taken it!”
Charlie replied, “As long as the painting is safe, that’s good. Just relax and rest I’ll get you some fruit and take care of the hospital bill.”
Douglas was moved to tears again, saying, “Charlie, you’re an incredible brother. Thank you so much… I promise I’ll pay you back!”
Charlie responded lightly, “Sure, we’re brothers, so no need for thanks.”
With that, he stepped out of the ward. He had rushed into the hospital without buying anything and felt pity for Douglas’s situation. He decided to get him some fruit and charged 100,000 dollars to cover the hospital fees.
Upon returning, Charlie discovered the ward door had been pushed open.
As he approached, he saw Lily Lewis standing at Douglas’s bedside, gripping Jerome’s arm tightly.
When Douglas noticed them, he shouted angrily, “What are you doing here? Do you come to gloat?”
Lily Lewis sneered, “Who would want to see you like this?”
Then, she spat on the floor and continued, “I’m here to ask about that painting! Where did you hide it? Hand it over!”
Douglas retorted angrily, “Lily Lewis, that painting was a gift from my brother why should I give it to you?”
“Given to you?” Lily Lewis shot back coldly. “Do you really think Charlie gifted that painting out of kindness? It was a present for the opening of the restaurant! Whose hotel is it? My father’s!”
Douglas couldn’t believe Lily Lewis’s audacity, his trembling voice rising, “Lily Lewis, don’t go too far! You still owe me 100,000 dollars invested in your restaurant! And that painting is a gift from my good brother did you hear me? A gift!”
Lily Lewis contemptuously replied, “Don’t waste my time with nonsense. The restaurant has nothing to do with you and I won’t give you a single penny. The painting belongs to the restaurant and if you don’t give it to me, I’ll call the police and report that you stole it!”
Jerome, standing nearby, added with a smirk, “I suggest you think wisely. You can’t afford to cross my connections in Aurous Hill. If you don’t hand over the painting, I’ll have you arrested and stealing something valued at 200,000 could easily land you in prison for ten years!”
Tears continued to roll down Douglas’s face as he confronted Lily Lewis, “I’ve given you everything over the years. Even if you don’t appreciate it, must you add insult to injury?”
Lily Lewis replied disdainfully, “Appreciation? Who do you think you are? I’ve never liked you. You’re a loser and unworthy of my love! Only men like Jerome are deserving of me!”
Jerome laughed and added, “Oh and by the way, I forgot to mention, Lily and I have a great time together.”
Lily Lewis blushed and protested playfully, “Jerome, why are you saying that? I’m embarrassed…”
“Embarrassed?” Jerome cackled. “Why don’t we close the door and let this loser see just how I’m treated?”
Douglas could no longer contain his anger. He grabbed a pillow and hurled it at Jerome, shouting, “You jerk, get out!”
Jerome caught the pillow and snorted, “If you don’t give me the painting, I’ll break your other leg, then toss you in jail!”
Just then, Charlie stormed into the ward, his voice full of fury as he shouted, “If you dare touch my brother, you’re asking for trouble!”
Jerome turned around, sizing Charlie up and asked, “And who might you be?”
Lily Lewis interjected, “This is Charlie, the guy who gave Tucker the painting.”
Jerome chuckled, “Oh, I thought it was somebody important. So it’s just that useless gigolo! Your name is notorious around Aurous Hill!”
Jerome’s demeanor instantly shifted to cold menace as he said, “I’ll give you three seconds to leave. I’ll let this slide and pretend you were never here!”
Charlie replied with disdain, “Leave? Who do you think you are?”
Jerome seethed, “How dare you disrespect me, Jerome?”
Charlie replied icily, “I don’t care if you’re Jerome or anyone else. You’ve made me very upset today. Here’s your chance kneel down and apologize to my brother three times, then let him take one of your leg out of your pride. Otherwise, you’ll be in for a world of hurt!”
Jerome chuckled, but his amusement faded into a hardened glare. “Did you just tell me to kneel? Do you have a death wish?”
Lily Lewis taunted him, “Charlie, where did you come from? Acting tough around Jerome is a bad idea you won’t last long!”
Charlie replied coldly, “Don’t talk to me, you fool!”
“You…” Lily Lewis fumed and turned to Jerome, “Jerome! He dared insult me! Get someone to beat him up! I want him to pay!”
Jerome gritted his teeth and said, “You ungrateful little brat! Just wait I’ll call someone to take care of you right now!”
Hearing this, Charlie suddenly burst into laughter and said, “Fine, if you can’t take me down, the two of you will both end up in a world of trouble!”

The Amazing Son In Law Chapter 84
Soon, the car arrived at the Convention and Exhibition Center.
The Convention and Exhibition Center features a striking circular dome structure, surrounded by shops selling flowers and birds, with the auction house located in the center.
This center, newly constructed last year, boasts both grandeur and an air of antiquity.
Charlie followed Jasmine as they took the scenic glass elevator to the sixth floor.
As the elevator doors opened, they were greeted by an exhibition hall filled with artistic flair, its walls adorned with antique calligraphy and paintings. This was the auction house.
In front of them, an auction table was covered with a red carpet, while cozy sofa booths were set up beneath the stage. The table was laden with imported wines, beverages, and fresh fruits for the guests to enjoy.
Compared to the last auction, it was evident that the Treasure Pavilion had invested significantly this time; the cost for renting and arranging the venue likely approached one million.
Jasmine’s box was situated in the center of the front row. Just as they were about to move forward, they heard a sudden commotion behind them.
Charlie barely had time to turn his head before being jostled aside by several people pushing their way in from behind. He frowned slightly, observing a group entering through the passage, led by several bodyguards.
“Is Mr. Yaleman also here?” Jasmine gasped softly, gazing up at the crowd.
The group that had squeezed in consisted of guests attending the auction, all of whom had gathered around a middle-aged man in a blue gown, who exuded a cold and haughty demeanor. Their expressions were filled with deep respect.
Charlie took a glance and remarked, “So this is Mr. Yaleman. He certainly makes an impression…”
Mr. Yaleman moved through the throng, withdrawing a light yellow triangular talisman and handing it to the most obsequious boss nearby. In a casual tone, he stated, “Since our paths cross today, here’s a free amulet for you. It will ensure your safety and prosperity.”
“Thank you, Mr. Yaleman.”
The boss, taken aback and eager to please, accepted the amulet and clutched it to his chest like a treasure. He declared to those around him, “Mr. Yaleman’s amulets are highly effective. I request one every year. Thanks to him, my business has expanded tremendously in recent years.”
The onlookers were visibly envious. Some openly sought an amulet from Mr. Yaleman, but he ignored their pleas.
An assistant beside him sneered and announced to the crowd in Hong Kong Mandarin, “Do you really think Mr. Yaleman will just give you an amulet? Others who come to our Mystery Court must pay at least $200,000 each!”
The crowd snapped back to reality and someone shouted out almost immediately.
“It’s a rare opportunity for Mr. Yaleman to visit Aurous Hill City. I’m willing to pay $200,000 for a peace amulet. Please, give me one!”
“I want to buy one too! Please, just one for me!”
“Mr. Yaleman’s peace amulet is a rarity. $200,000 is nothing, I’ll take five!”
The atmosphere buzzed with excitement as numerous business owners began putting down deposits to purchase Mr. Yaleman’s peace amulet.
“Form an orderly line, one at a time,” the assistant said impatiently as he recorded their names, stirring up a lively scene.
Charlie couldn’t help but mutter, “Why is this peace amulet so costly? It’s absurd how easily money is made.”
His voice, although not loud, caught Mr. Yaleman’s attention, who abruptly looked up and scowled at him.
Mr. Yaleman pushed through the crowd, approached Charlie, and scrutinized him. “My friend, from your tone, do you have a problem with my peace amulet?”
Charlie replied calmly, “I believe this peace amulet isn’t worth that much money.”
A voice from the crowd immediately chimed in, “You’re clueless! Mr. Yaleman’s talismans are a bargain at $200,000!”
“Exactly! Many people are fighting over talismans priced at $2 million!”
“Someone like him could probably only afford the cheap ones sold at a temple!”
Mr. Yaleman regarded Charlie with disdain and said, “You can eat whatever you like, but you should keep your thoughts to yourself. The point of having a brain is to think before you speak, it’s best not to pretend to know what you don’t.”
With that, Mr. Yaleman contemptibly curled his lip and stepped into the exhibition hall.
Charlie remained unfazed, disregarding Mr. Yaleman entirely.
Jasmine, sensing the tension, awkwardly said, “Mr. Wade, please don’t take it to heart. Mr. Yaleman can be quite temperamental.”
Charlie shook his head dismissively and replied to Jasmine, “Let’s go inside as well.”
Guests began to filter into the venue. The host, Finn Baxendale, the owner of the Treasure Pavilion, took the stage, delivered a few standard speeches and then transitioned into the auction segment.
The auction was officially underway!
Since the previous auction had been temporarily canceled, there were even more items on offer this time, and the number of guests had doubled.
The first item brought to the stage by two attendants was an antique copper incense burner, from which white mist curled and a peculiar scent wafted.
The auctioneer introduced it “This is a pine and crane backflow incense burner from the Tang Dynasty, a treasure gifted by the Tang Emperor to the calligraphy and painting master, Banks Dongpo. The accompanying boxes of ambergris are imperial artifacts from the Tang court that cannot be used without permission, as the production method has been lost. It refreshes the mind and slightly elevates one’s spirits!”
He then gestured for the attendant to light the incense.
One of the attendants, dressed in a cheongsam, carefully scooped some incense with a silver spoon and lit it.
White smoke cascaded down the sides of the incense burner like a waterfall. In the hazy atmosphere, the pine and crane designs appeared lifelike, as if they were about to flap their wings and take off.
A faint, enchanting fragrance filled the auction hall, rejuvenating everyone present.
Charlie nodded appreciatively, noting, “This is indeed authentic ambergris made from sperm whales and this traditional incense-making technique is largely lost today.”
The auctioneer struck the gavel twice and announced, “The starting price for the Songhe Backflow Incense Burner is $800,000, with bids increasing by $100,000 each round.”
This incense burner, finely crafted and possessing collectible value, drew bids from the audience, each one raising their paddles eagerly.
Soon, it was sold to a bidder for $1.6 million.
Following that, seven or eight more items were showcased, all high-quality antiques that captivated the audience.
The atmosphere in the venue was vibrant as guests enthusiastically placed their bids.
Jacob watched with great interest but noted he was low on funds, otherwise he might have jumped in.
However, Charlie remained entirely uninterested in these collectibles.
Although these items were valuable, they were primarily for collection and held little significance for him.
At that moment, an attendant entered with a white porcelain plate holding a string of purple beads glimmering under the lights.
The auctioneer announced, “These are natural purple marshals from the East China Sea, sourced from rare pearl shells. The beads are perfectly round and uniformly sized, truly a rare and exquisite find.”
This string of purple marshals was priced reasonably at $400,000.
Charlie glanced up and immediately placed his bid.
“Five hundred thousand!”
Jacob’s eyelids fluttered in surprise, and he quickly interjected, “What are you bidding on? Pearl necklaces typically go for only a few tens of thousands; $400,000 is a rip-off! Don’t bid on this!”
Charlie looked at the pearls, thinking of Claire and smiled, “I believe Claire would look great wearing them. Marshals promote calmness and she has been under a lot of stress lately and hasn’t been sleeping well.”
Jacob hesitated, wanting to voice his concern but ultimately chose silence since Charlie was buying it for his daughter.
The necklace’s collectible value was low, prompting no other bids.
Just as the auctioneer was about to close the bidding, a voice unexpectedly piped up.
“Six hundred thousand!”
Charlie turned to locate the source of the voice.
It was Adam from the Quinton family, who had previously attempted to harm himself. He smirked as he addressed Charlie, “Sorry, but I also have an interest in that necklace!”
Charlie frowned in disbelief. Why was he here? Hadn’t Graham confined him?

The Amazing Son In Law Chapter 62
Seeing Mr. Quinton’s arrogance, those around him held their breath, thinking that Charlie’s defiance of Young Mr. Quinton would lead to severe consequences.
Charlie, however, maintained a calm demeanor and smiled, “I see you’re also involved in the antique business. Have you ever considered what the most important aspect of this industry is?”
Mr. Quinton asked coldly, “What’s that?”
Charlie chuckled and replied, “Naturally, the most crucial thing is rules!”
He raised his voice slightly and declared, “In antiques, it’s first come, first served. I arrived first and even if you knelt before me, begging, I wouldn’t part with it. You can’t just take it by force; otherwise, you’d be breaching the rules today. Who would want to do business with you in the future? Soon enough, Young Mr. Quinton, you’d be the target of scorn, and everyone would want to chase you away!”
Once he finished, Mr. Quinton was momentarily taken aback, with a flash of anger flickering across his face.
There is indeed such a rule in the antique industry, a fact he, as a self-proclaimed refined scholar, was well aware of. If word of today’s events got out, the shop owners who usually worked with him might very well distance themselves to avoid upsetting other customers.
Mr. Quinton never expected that Charlie could humiliate him with just a few words.
He glared fiercely at Charlie, wanting nothing more than to kick him in the face.
Yet he swallowed his rage and ground out, “Country bumpkin! Do you honestly think I’m interested in your stone? I just want you to understand that antiques aren’t for everyone. You’re a poor man best to return home and tend to the fields, lest you tarnish true sophistication!”
With that, Mr. Quinton rolled up his sleeves, scowling, and raised his arm in front of Charlie, shaking it as if to flaunt. “Open your eyes and see this! This string of chicken blood jade was bought from Lingnan for 1.5 million! Have you ever seen anything this exquisite?”
The bracelet on Mr. Quinton’s wrist was translucent and gleaming red in the sunlight, stunning enough that bystanders gaped in awe.
Zachary stared at the bracelet, swallowing hard, “Wow, it really is something special!”
“Humph! Naturally!” Mr. Quinton basked in the crowd’s admiration.
Then he shot a condescending glance at Charlie, adjusted his shirt collar and revealed a gourd-shaped piece of jade hanging around his neck. “Now, take a look at this!”
“This piece of chalcedony was a coming-of-age gift from my father, the Emperor of Sui. Eighty-eight monks blessed it on an altar for 108 days! It’s worth three million! Wearing it can turn misfortune into prosperity!”
As soon as they heard about the remarkable origin of this chalcedony gourd, the crowd craned their necks to get a better look.
Zachary excitedly flared his nostrils, as if he had been hit, his eyes greedily fixed on the jade gourd, yearning to engulf it whole.
Mr. Quinton held up the jade gourd, smirking at Charlie, “The poor play with watches, while the rich play with jade. You, with your shabby clothes, think you can buy antiques? What a joke!”
He spoke mockingly and those around occasionally glanced at Charlie.
Indeed, Charlie didn’t appear wealthy at all. He wore a basic white T-shirt, jeans, and sneakers, resembling an ordinary young man.
In contrast, Mr. Quinton’s seemingly simple outfit was, in reality, quite pricey completely handmade, costing at least six figures from head to toe.
Charlie regarded Mr. Quinton’s smug demeanor, finding him laughably amusing. In truth, he wasn’t entirely wicked he was simply a foolish Young Master. So, Charlie looked at him and replied with a smile, “You consider yourself wealthy, right? That bracelet looks quite appealing, but unfortunately… it’s a counterfeit.”
Mr. Quinton was momentarily stunned before he erupted, “You’re talking nonsense! My bracelet can’t be fake.”
“If you doubt me, ask the owners of several nearby antique shops,” Charlie shrugged, adding with a knowing look, “If you have the means to dabble in antiques, you should at least know who’s in the game. A blind person insisting they know about antiques is just a target for others, not even a novice.”
Mr. Quinton seethed with anger. Realizing Charlie was ridiculing his ignorance, he declared sternly, “If my bracelet is real, you’ll kneel and admit your mistake right here on the spot. Deal?”
“Deal.” Charlie responded readily, his demeanor relaxed, “You’re quite the expert for mistaking artificial stone for genuine jade.”
Mr. Quinton flushed with embarrassment from the mockery, then turned furiously to the onlookers.
“Mr. Zeke, Mr. Lionel, can you please authenticate this bracelet? Tell me if it’s real or not.”
The two men he mentioned exchanged awkward glances.
Determining the authenticity of antiques can be offensive and they didn’t want to upset a colleague.
“Mr. Quinton, we lack the expertise to make that determination,” one of them said cautiously.
Mr. Quinton countered angrily, “Don’t think I’m unaware of your games. Just identify it for me. I won’t hold it against you whether it’s real or fake! But if you deceive me, I’ll get someone else to confirm it and I will know for sure.”
“Mr. Quinton, please don’t be upset!” they replied nervously.
Both men approached cautiously, knowing well that offending him was unwise.
With grim resolve, they took the jade bracelet and examined it closely.
A few minutes later, one of the men chuckled nervously, “Uh, Young Mr. Quinton, the young man may be correct about your bracelet… um…”
“Just say it!” Mr. Quinton shouted coldly.
The man, visibly shaken, quickly added, “Your bracelet is indeed artificial stone, not jade.”
As soon as he finished, Mr. Quinton’s expression turned ashen before flushing with rage, as if he had been stung in public. His throat bobbed violently, on the verge of exploding with anger.
The two shop owners quickly retreated back into the crowd, not daring to show themselves again.
Charlie smiled and said, “Now you believe it, right? Spending one and a half million on a string of synthetic stones. Young Mr. Quinton truly is affluent.”
“I made a mistake this time!” Mr. Quinton clenched his teeth, “It’s only one and a half million. Do you think I’m worried about that? Even if my bracelet is fake, my jade gourd is definitely real!”
Mr. Quinton was absolutely certain about this jade gourd! He had indeed consulted an expert and this gourd was a top-quality ancient jade from the Sui Dynasty!
Charlie scoffed, “You wear such a perilous item as a treasure I doubt anyone else in the world would be as foolish as you!”
“What did you say? That’s just absurd!” Mr. Quinton roared, veins bulging on his forehead.
Charlie stated calmly, “You keep such a dangerous thing close to you. You’re lucky you haven’t met a disastrous fate yet.”
Mr. Quinton appeared unhappy, but after earlier events, he couldn’t discern whether Charlie’s claims were true or false. He glared and demanded, “Why do you say that?”
“Take a good look at the shape of that jade gourd!” Charlie replied coldly, “When you collected it, didn’t you consider its actual use?”
Mr. Quinton boldly responded, “This, this is not just any piece but a coming-of-age gift from the Sui Emperor! The gourd signifies good fortune and those who appreciate jade know this well. I know more about it than you, a poor man! You know nothing!”

The Amazing Son In Law Chapter 53
Jerome quickly made a phone call, exclaiming loudly, “Zaz, I’m at the Silverwing Hospital right now. Bring a few guys over; I want to take out a kid!”
Charlie didn’t make a call but instead sent a text message directly to Don Albert: “Come to the Silverwing Hospital; someone is trying to kill me.”
Don Albert immediately called back, asking, “Mr. Wade, which foolish person are you dealing with?”
Charlie responded calmly, “Enough of the chatter, just get here.”
Don Albert replied promptly, “Don’t worry, Mr. Wade, I’m on my way!”
Seeing Charlie on the phone, Jerome scoffed, “What? You can call someone too?”
Charlie retorted with a smirk, “I told you, I’ll make sure you suffer a miserable fate!”
Jerome laughed as if he had heard the most ridiculous joke, sneering, “Who do you think you are? No one in Aurous Hill has the power to bring about my doom!”
Douglas struggled to sit up in bed, urgently warning, “Charlie, you need to leave right now! Don’t get involved with this guy; he’s not someone you want to mess with.”
Charlie walked over, pushed him back down on the bed, and replied calmly, “Just stay down.”
Douglas said, visibly anxious, “You have no idea where Jerome comes from. His family has significant influence in Aurous Hill…”
Charlie casually peeled an orange, shoved a piece into his mouth, and stated, “The person I can’t afford to cross hasn’t been born yet!”
Then he added, “Oh right, you too!”
Lily Lewis’s expression soured immediately, “Fine, if you’re looking for trouble, then just wait!”
Charlie turned to Douglas, asking, “Does Lily Lewis’s father, Lawson Lewis, know that you’ve been attacked?”
“Yes,” Douglas confirmed. “I called him earlier.”
Charlie nodded and followed up, “What did he say?”
Douglas, now furious, replied, “He said he couldn’t interfere in our business as young people! Basically, he’s telling me not to reach out to him!”
Charlie pressed further, “Did you ask him about the $100,000 you invested in the hotel?”
“Yes!” Douglas said, his annoyance boiling over. “This old fool claimed that my $100,000 wasn’t an investment in the hotel, but a gift meant for him as a potential son-in-law, insisting that I have no right to demand it back! He won’t give it back to me!”
“How absurd!” Charlie scoffed, “No wonder he has such a terrible daughter. Turns out he’s nothing but a scoundrel!”
“Charlie, what did you just say?” Lily Lewis yelled, fuming. “You dare insult my father? You must be out of your mind!”
In a frantic rush, she shook Jerome’s arm and pleaded, “Jerome, he actually dared to disrespect my dad! You have to do something!”
Jerome, a slick playboy of average height who was also significantly shorter than Charlie, understood that confronting Charlie would be futile. Charlie had exceptional fitness from doing household chores and conditioning himself with regular exercise. Plus, he practiced Wing Chun since childhood, which helped him navigate challenges in the orphanage.
In a real fight, one Jerome would stand no chance against Charlie, let alone five of him.
Jerome knew that if he tried to act now, he’d likely end up on the receiving end of a beating. So, he comforted Lily Lewis, saying, “Don’t worry, babe. Brother Zaz will be here soon and I’ll take care of him then!”
Charlie took the opportunity to send a text to Isaac Cameron at Shangri-La “Who is Jerome from Aurous Hill?”
Isaac Cameron responded promptly, “He comes from a business family involved in jade and pawn auctions, but their power isn’t anything special. Has he crossed you?”
“Yes.” Charlie replied “I’ve asked Don Albert to head over. Also, I need you to do something for me.”
Isaac Cameron quickly replied, “Young Master, what do you need?”
Charlie instructed, “Bring Jerome’s father and an old man in Aurous Hill known for cultural relic appraisal named Lawson Lewis to the Silverwing Hospital.”
Isaac Cameron replied instantly, “Understood, Young Master. I will personally make sure they see you!”
Charlie said, “You don’t need to show your face, just send someone. I don’t want anyone knowing about our connection.”
“Got it, Young Master! Should I have someone teach those two old men a lesson?”
Charlie ordered, “Grab them, rough them up, tie them and send them my way.”
“Understood, Young Master! I’ll carry out your orders right away!”
Putting his phone away, Charlie looked at Jerome and Lily Lewis coldly, stating, “They say a father is responsible for the failure of his son and same with daughter. I’ll bring your father’s here later to personally explain how they raised you two losers!”
Jerome’s expression darkened as he warned, “Kid, I advise you to back off. When my people get here, you might really end up dead!”
Charlie chuckled derisively, “I hope they arrive soon I’m eager to meet them.”
Just as Jerome was about to hurl another insult at Charlie, the door to the ward kicked open and a beefy man burst in with seven or eight followers.
Seeing him, Jerome pointed at Charlie, shouting, “Zaz, that’s the guy! Help me take care of him!”
The Zaz frowned, looking coldly at Charlie. “You’re the one causing my brother trouble?”
Charlie calmly smiled and nodded, “What’s it to you? Are you here to defend him?”
Zaz studied him with suspicion, wondering why this kid seemed so unfazed. He asked, “What’s your background, kid?”
Charlie replied nonchalantly, “I’m just from my family.”
Jerome quickly interjected, “Zaz, this guy is a live-in son-in-law, a gigolo.”
He then leaned in to whisper, “Zaz, he’s got no connections, you can beat him without worry. I’ll handle the aftermath.”
“A gigolo?” Zaz grinned wickedly, “Alright, let’s see how he survives being a gigolo!”
Without waiting for Charlie’s response, he signaled to his crew, “Get him! Deal with him!”
Jerome jeered at Charlie, “Mr. Wade, any final words?”
Charlie ignored him entirely, focusing on Zaz and calmly declared, “Kneel down and I’ll spare your life.”
Zaz froze, then picked at his ears, frowning. “What did you just say? Repeat that and I guarantee you won’t see tomorrow!”
Just then, a voice thundered from outside, “Zaz, Mr. Wade told you to kneel down! Are you deaf or something?”
Zaz’s expression turned serious Don Albert had arrived!

The Amazing Son In Law Chapter 66
Graham wore a respectful smile as he addressed Charlie, “Master Wade, I will never forget your generosity towards the Quinton family. I’m a bit rushed today and couldn’t prepare well. Could you please come to the Quinton residence tomorrow? I’d like to host a banquet at my home to personally show my gratitude.”
“No, I have other commitments.” Charlie replied coolly, shaking his head. “I intervened today because of the kindness you’ve shown me in the past. I prefer to keep things low-key. Do you understand?”
Graham was taken aback but nodded repeatedly, saying, “I understand! If Master Wade will need the Quinton family in the future, just reach out whenever you need us.”
With that, he quickly presented a gold-plated business card that bore his personal mobile number.
Charlie accepted it without a glance, then turned and walked away with his father-in-law.
As Graham watched their departing figures, he shot an angry glare at Adam, urging, “In Aurous Hill, when you see Master Wade, be sure to bow respectfully and greet him! Don’t embarrass me!”
Adam replied, looking disgruntled, “I had no idea I could offend someone just by making a purchase on the street…”
Aurora, standing aside with a cold expression, watched Charlie leave, her teeth gritted in frustration. Although she held Charlie in high regard, she was clearly still resentful about how he had handled her.
For someone as proud as she was, this type of humiliation felt unforgivable.
Sighing, Graham tried to comfort her, “Sweetheart, please don’t think about revenge against Master Wade. Our whole family depends on him now…”
“Can he really help us?” Adam muttered skeptically.
Graham snapped, “If you keep talking like that, I swear I’ll break your legs!”
Adam retreated, silenced by his father’s anger.
Aurora huffed in disdain, saying, “I know, Dad… I won’t provoke him…”
Just thinking about the bruise from earlier made her uncomfortable all over.
“What a shame…” Graham shook his head, letting out a heavy sigh.
Aurora looked at him with curiosity, “What a shame?”
He glanced at her and said, “It’s a shame Master Wade is already married otherwise, you two would make quite the pair…”
“Dad! What are you saying!” Aurora felt a mix of embarrassment and anger.
During their drive back, Jacob was filled with astonishment.
To think that the prestigious head of the Quinton family was so deferential to his son-in-law!
“Charlie, were those things you said to Graham really true?” Jacob queried, wondering if his son-in-law was becoming more of a trickster.
Charlie chuckled, “It’s a mix of truth and exaggeration. Don’t all fraudsters love to maintain an air of mystery?”
Jacob, alarmed by this revelation, exclaimed, “Goodness, you had the audacity to deceive the Quinton family and accept such a precious bracelet from them. What if they come after you once they find out? Don’t drag us into your problems!”
Charlie reassured him, “I can always return the bracelet. In a lawful society, can they really harm me?”
Jacob sighed, clearly worried, yet after considering it further, he saw no alternative but to take the risk. Perhaps Charlie had a genuine strategy after all?
Once they reached home, Charlie entered the bedroom and retrieved the “peace and wealth” stone he had gotten from Zachary.
At that moment, Charlie suddenly felt a wave of energy surging into his body from the stone.
Warmth spread through his torso, inundating him with an indescribable comfort.
Soon, beads of sweat mixed with impurities began to pour from his body, leaving him feeling incredibly relaxed.
After a short while, Charlie sensed a stream of energy circulating within him.
This was the reiki!
When he examined the stone again, Charlie noticed that it had returned to its mundane state, like an ordinary rock.
He attempted to harness the cultivation method from the “Apocalyptic Book,” but was unable to extract any reiki from it.
Realizing he could only place the stone back into his pocket, Charlie felt this object had some significance, but without understanding it fully at the moment, he decided to wait until his cultivation level improved in the future.
Feeling sticky all over, Charlie hurried to take a shower. By the time he finished, it was already past 5 PM. His wife, Claire, called him.
On the call, she explained that she was discussing project details at the Emgrand Group and mentioned that the BMW 520, secretly a 760, he had bought for her was restricted today, so she had not driven it. Instead, she needed him to pick her up in her father’s 530 at the Emgrand Group.
Naturally, when his wife called, Charlie agreed to help her. He promptly asked his father-in-law for the car keys and drove to the Emgrand Group.
Once downstairs, Charlie pulled out his phone to call Claire.
She didn’t answer but quickly sent him a text message.
“Charlie, I’m still in a meeting with the project team. Please wait for me downstairs for a bit. Thank you for your efforts.”
“Sure, I’ll wait for you.”
After responding, Charlie waited outside the car, smoking as he passed the time.
At that moment, Doris Young, the vice chairman of the Emgrand Group, called him. “Young Master, have you arrived at the Emgrand Group?”
Curious, Charlie asked, “How do you know?”
Doris Young replied, “I’m in my office and can see your car from here.”
Charlie looked up with a smile, “Did you need to discuss something with me?”
Doris Young responded, “The young lady is still in a meeting and it may take some time. I’d like to ask if you’re available, as I want to report to you about my recent work.”
Charlie considered it, realizing he hadn’t been managing the Emgrand Group lately and shouldn’t remain ignorant of its affairs. He said, “Okay, just wait a moment, I’ll come up.”
Doris Young replied, “Then go straight to your office and I’ll report to you there.”
“Got it.”
After ending the call, Charlie entered the building, took the elevator, and made his way directly to the chairman’s office on the top floor.
As he stepped out of the elevator and walked toward his office, a door suddenly swung open behind him.
Loreen was on her way to the bathroom when she unexpectedly spotted a familiar figure.
Though she didn’t recognize him right away, the back of the man seemed strikingly similar to the god-level rich person she had seen on social media.
Could it be that the chairman she had longed to meet had finally arrived?
Loreen felt a rush of excitement!
Her main goal for coming to Aurous Hill and the Emgrand Group was to get closer to this mysterious chairman and work toward winning his affection, thus elevating her entire family’s status.
This task had been entrusted to her by her family, serving as their reliance on her prospects.
However, she also felt a growing frustration, having been there for days without ever catching a glimpse of the chairman. How could she build a lasting connection with him like this?
So now, seeing the chairman’s back, her excitement surged!
She quickly took a few steps and began to follow Charlie, hoping to catch up to him and say hello and then introduce herself!
