The Amazing Son In Law Chapter 64

The Amazing Son In Law Chapter 64

The people around believed Charlie’s words wholeheartedly, their excitement bubbling as they anticipated diving into the world of martial arts.

Mr. Quinton, who had been standing in a daze nearby, finally snapped back to reality, his face twisting in frustration.

This is utterly humiliating!

He had spent a fortune hiring bodyguards, all seasoned martial artists from the local martial arts dojo, yet he never expected…

He never imagined he would be taken down so easily by a young man who learned martial arts from television!

Mr. Quinton, an outsider to the martial arts world, couldn’t gauge Charlie’s skill, but his bodyguards were far from foolish.

A true expert can assess someone’s capabilities with just a single move!

They saw immediately that Charlie was not exaggerating and that he hadn’t even unleashed his full power.

He was indeed someone they couldn’t dare to provoke!

Consequently, the bodyguards, brimming with awe, hesitated to approach Charlie.

Watching from the sidelines, Jacob was oblivious to the realities of martial arts. To him, Charlie’s techniques seemed basic just wrist grips and shoulder throws but he mistook them for mere strength. He had no idea that what he witnessed was true martial arts in action.

Charlie flashed a grin at Mr. Quinton and asked, “Are you coming over on your own, or do I need to come to you?”

“Please, don’t come any closer,” Mr. Quinton stammered, dread washing over him as he instinctively danced back a few steps.

Seeing him back away like that, Charlie scoffed and advanced toward him.

Mr. Quinton, terror etched on his face, recoiled further. If he got thrown like that, there was no doubt he’d be stuck in the hospital for at least two weeks!

Just then, a sleek black BMW appeared at the street corner and pulled over nearby.

The driver quickly opened the door, beckoning someone to step out.

Mr. Quinton’s spirits lifted at the sight and he called out, “Sister! I’ve been beaten! Come save me!”

Charlie looked up as the crowd parted to reveal a woman clad in form-fitting black athletic wear striding their way.

The outfit accentuated her figure flawlessly and her furious expression lent her an air of fierce determination.

“That’s Adam Quinton’s sister, Aurora!” someone in the crowd exclaimed, sparking a wave of whispers.

Adam Quinton yelled out, “Sister, this guy hurt me please help me get back at him!”

As Aurora approached, she surveyed the fallen bodyguards and then fixed her icy gaze on Charlie. “Did you do this?”

Charlie replied coolly, “Yes, I did. What’s your issue with that?”

Her sneer conveyed disdain as she retorted, “Nothing, but you need to apologize to my brother right now!”

“And if I refuse?”

“Then I’ll make you wish you hadn’t!”

Before she had a chance to finish her threat, Aurora executed a swift kick aimed at Charlie’s face.

Surprised, Charlie noted that her skills far surpassed those of the preceding bodyguards.

Her whip kick was both powerful and lightning-fast, marking her as a genuine martial artist!

Adam watched, thinking, “Let’s see if my sister doesn’t wipe the floor with you!”

Having practiced martial arts for many years, she was adept in ancient training and modern combat styles and even seasoned martial artists had fallen to her.

But in the next moment, Adam’s astonishment grew.

“Pathetically weak!”

With a furious shout, Charlie dodged to the side in an instant and then propelled his leg to kick Aurora in the rear, sending her sprawling.

Adam’s jaw dropped in disbelief, his mind reeling. “This… is impossible!”

Aurora was mortified and enraged. Since taking up martial arts, she had never faced such public humiliation, especially in such a degrading manner!

Fuming, she sprang back to her feet and lunged at Charlie, determined to teach this disrespectful punk a lesson.

“Aurora, stop! Show some respect to Master Wade!” Suddenly, a middle-aged man dashed forward and grabbed her by the arm.

Aurora, seething with shame and anger, shouted, “Dad, let go! I’m going to make him pay!”

How could he kick my rear? Doesn’t he know how to treat women gently? It still stings!

“Be quiet!”

The middle-aged man glared at her, his voice firm.

Then, he approached Charlie, taking a deep breath as he transformed his demeanor into one of respect. “Master Wade, it’s good to see you again… I sincerely apologize on behalf of my incompetent daughter and son. Upon returning home, I will ensure they reflect on their behavior.”

Aurora and Adam stood frozen, disbelief washing over them. Their father held a prestigious position in Aurous Hill City, yet here he was, being so deferential to this young man.

Charlie recognized him. He had encountered Graham during a trip to assess some treasures with Jasmine.

Nodding politely, Charlie remarked, “Mr. Quinton, your son could certainly use a reminder about respect.”

Graham nodded vigorously, glaring at Aurora and Adam as he commanded, “Come here and apologize to Master Wade!”

“I refuse to apologize to the jerk who humiliated me!” Aurora pouted, her anger palpable.

Graham shouted sternly, “Apologize! Now! Immediately!”

Aurora’s defiance crumbled in the face of his anger she bit down on her grievance and mumbled, “I’m sorry…”

Adam, on the other hand, was livid. “Father, this kid just insulted me and hurt my sister! It’s one thing for you to let this slide, but now you want me to apologize? If you won’t deal with him, I’ll find someone else to handle it!”

Smack!

Graham struck him sharply across the face, his voice seething with fury. “Brat! Kneel before Master Wade!”

Adam, stunned by the blow, saw stars and tasted blood in his mouth, clutching his face in horror. He was awestruck, completely unprepared for the direction this conversation had taken.

But kneeling in public…

That would completely tarnish the Quinton family’s reputation. They would lose all face in Aurous Hill City!

Graham gritted his teeth, imploring, “You wretch! Do you realize that if Master Wade hadn’t identified the clues associated with your jade, not only would you have faced doom, but the entire Quinton family would too?”

His stern reprimand continued, “I couldn’t understand why the Quinton family has faced such misfortune lately, with incident after incident. Now it’s clear you, an ungrateful fool, have brought us this trouble. If your grandfather were here, he would surely break your legs!”

Terrified by his father’s serious tone, Adam felt his legs weaken and he collapsed to the ground.

Graham commanded, “Why aren’t you apologizing to Master Wade?”

“Yes, I’m sorry…” Adam trembled, fear evident in his voice as he pleaded with Charlie, his eyes brimming with trepidation.

Graham turned to Charlie, voice respectful. “Master Wade, does this resolution meet your satisfaction?”

Charlie replied calmly, “It’s fine. Since he has knelt, I won’t pursue this matter any further.”

Relieved, Graham asked eagerly, “Master Wade, may I ask one more question? After the jade is lost, will my Quinton family’s fortunes ever return to normal?”

Charlie chuckled derisively, “You’re dreaming! The malevolence tied to that jade is substantial and it’s not just affecting Adam. In my opinion, your family will likely face ruin within a year!”

The Amazing Son In Law Chapter 93

The Amazing Son In Law Chapter 93

Seeing Charlie hold his ground, Jack Yaleman scoffed at Zeke White, saying, “It seems someone is really seeking trouble. Go and prepare three sandalwood incense sticks, a purple gold incense burner and a peach wood sword for me. I will help him.”

Zeke White hurriedly complied, not daring to delay.

Before long, the incense burner was filled with sandalwood, and the smoke began to rise.

Master Yaleman raised the peach wood sword, murmuring an incantation under his breath.

Graham, standing nearby, felt a wave of dizziness, as if several lead weights had been dropped on his head, causing his temples to throb.

He endured for a short while but could not take it any longer and pleaded, “Mr. Yaleman, how long will this Feng Shui arrangement take?”

“Your family is laden with heavy Yin energy, which is unusual, and this Feng Shui arrangement requires time. Just endure it for now,” Mr. Yaleman replied.

Hearing this from Mr. Yaleman, Graham had no choice but to grit his teeth and tolerate the discomfort.

However, the more he tried to endure, the worse he felt. He not only felt nauseous and on the verge of vomiting but also experienced a severe headache.

Fortunately, something deep within him suddenly radiated a strong warmth, safeguarding his heart and preventing him from collapsing right there.

Graham was taken aback, “Isn’t this the shocking talisman that Charlie gave me?”

Jack Yaleman was unaware of Graham’s thoughts. He took a sip of water and sprayed it onto the peach wood sword, swiping the sword through the rising smoke.

As the wooden sword passed through the smoke, Graham suddenly felt as if his head had been struck hard, nd a wave of sweetness rushed to his throat, causing him to spew a mouthful of blood.

“Father!” Adam gasped in shock and rushed forward to support him.

Graham’s face turned pale and he lacked the strength to speak.

“Mr. Yaleman, what’s wrong with my father?” Adam questioned anxiously.

Jack Yaleman maintained a calm expression as he explained, “The Quinton family has an overabundance of Yin energy. I used a powerful Feng Shui scheme to break it and naturally, the head of the family bears the brunt of it. This blood you see spurted out is breaking the evil spirit, thus alleviating the Quinton family’s Yin energy.”

Graham, though weak, forced himself to express his gratitude, “Thank you, Master Yaleman, for your efforts. The Quinton family is very grateful.”

After coughing up the blood, he did feel considerably better.

Moreover, Adam sensed a shift within his own body and swiftly thanked Jack Yaleman as well.

Charlie frowned, commenting, “Jack Yaleman has proven himself capable. The Quinton family’s evil spirit was so strong, yet he resolved it effectively. He is truly skilled.”

Everyone present was a Feng Shui master and, without needing further clarification, recognized that Jack Yaleman had indeed eradicated the Quinton family’s evil spirit, viewing him with admiration.

“Father, let’s move over there,” Adam assisted Graham to a side area, then turned to Charlie and said tauntingly, “What do you think, charlatan? Hurry up and return our Quinton family’s money.”

Charlie smirked and replied, “I can return your money, but I’m not sure Graham will be around to spend it…”

“What!” Graham exclaimed in shock.

Charlie looked at him coldly, saying, “Check your palm. Is there a red line on it?”

Graham’s face paled, and he quickly flipped over his palm, staring at it in disbelief.

On his palm, there was indeed a faint red line.

This red line began at the lifeline of his palm and extended all the way up his arm!

Graham gasped, “What is this? I didn’t have this before.”

Charlie replied coldly, “This is your lifeline. The Quinton family is riddled with evil spirits. Jack Yaleman’s method uses your life to resolve them! In three days, this red line will extend to your elbow and then you will die! Your life’s virtues will be exchanged for the continuation of the Quinton family.”

Graham stood frozen in fear at Charlie’s words.

Adam, also panicked, quickly looked around at the others present.

The masters in attendance nodded subtly, confirming that Graham truly had only three days left to live.

Adam dropped to his knees, pleading with Jack Yaleman, “Mr. Yaleman, please, save my father once more!”

Jack Yaleman appeared arrogant and sneered, “Once the Taoism has been set in motion, it cannot be retracted. I will use Graham’s life to preserve your family’s lives. You should be grateful.”

Aurora’s face went pale as she bit her lip, struggling for a moment, before kneeling in front of Charlie, saying, “Please, save my dad…”

Charlie glanced at her and stated calmly, “Since your Quinton family chose to believe Jack Yaleman, it’s no longer my concern. Why should I intervene?”

With her eyes reddening, Aurora gritted her teeth and insisted, “If you can save my dad, I will agree to any request you have…”

Charlie chuckled softly and said, “I have no interest in you…”

Graham then rushed over, kneeling before Charlie, begging, “Master Wade, I was foolish and it was that unlucky Adam who led me astray.”

As he spoke, Graham pulled Adam closer and slapped him across the face as if risking everything.

Adam dodged repeatedly.

Aurora grasped Charlie’s leg, pleading, “Just save my dad, please…”

With a sigh, Charlie said, “Alright, get up. I was only trying to scare you. Nothing terrible has happened. Thankfully, your dad has the shocking talisman, or he’d have no chance against Adam now.”

Graham looked skeptical as he retrieved the shocking talisman from his pocket and asked, “Did this talisman actually work?”

Charlie nodded affirmatively, “The red line is fading quickly. With Jack Yaleman’s two actions, we’re still far from breaking my talisman’s influence.”

As Graham looked down at his arm, he noted that the red line had dimmed considerably and was gradually disappearing. He exclaimed in joy, “Thank you, Master Wade! If it weren’t for you, I would…”

Charlie raised a hand, cutting him off, “You’re fortunate you had the talisman with you. Otherwise, I wouldn’t have bothered whether you lived or died.”

With that, Charlie turned his attention back to Jack Yaleman, saying, “The results are clear now, why not admit defeat?”

Adam finally came to his senses, kneeling urgently on the ground, continuously apologizing to Charlie.

Jack Yaleman’s complexion darkened as he fixed a fierce glare on Charlie, insisting, “You dare claim victory with these petty tricks? I was willing to spare your life, but your obstinacy means I must give you one last chance. Surrender the giant clam and kneel to apologize!”

He had hoped to reserve his final trump card, but now, with Charlie having bested him, all of his meticulous plans had unraveled!

Moreover, if the trump card was used, even he would struggle to control it completely, and everyone present might face dire consequences!

Charlie’s expression hardened, and he replied, “What if I refuse?”

“You leave me no choice!” Jack Yaleman declared, swiftly retrieving a black porcelain jar from the box beside him.

Several black mosquitoes erupted from the jar, darting toward the meat and vegetables on the table, voraciously consuming them.

Jasmine looked perplexed and remarked, “Wait… is Jack Yaleman raising mosquitoes?”

Everyone watched as the black mosquitoes descended upon the meat, creating a bizarre scene. The masters present were baffled and exchanged confused looks.

In moments, the meat and vegetables devoured by the black mosquitoes morphed in color and countless smaller black mosquitoes emerged from them!

The Amazing Son In Law Chapter 91

The Amazing Son In Law Chapter 91

At this moment, Zeke White addressed the crowd, saying, “Everyone, please remain patient. Master Yaleman is considering the future of our metaphysical community. In the past, we were all scattered, but now we have organized ourselves, formed an alliance and elected a leader. Going forward, we will be united against any adversaries, making it much easier to coordinate our efforts. This is certainly a positive development. Regarding the areas you feel less confident in, the chosen leader should be well-versed in all aspects and disciplines in metaphysics. Only then will they truly be qualified to shoulder this responsibility.”

As he spoke, some individuals protested loudly, while others quietly pondered their options.

After all, the victor could seize valuable assets from the defeated. Achieving first place would allow one to command the entire metaphysical community.

It’s important to note that metaphysics extends beyond academic study.

There’s an expansive industrial network behind it, which can attract prominent figures to one’s side!

Few can resist the allure of wealth and power and several were already showing signs of being swayed.

“Absolutely,” Jack Yaleman stated as he stood up. “I won’t force anyone to participate. If anyone is fearful, you may withdraw now. But once you leave, you will forfeit any chance of joining this Metaphysics Alliance and will be permanently excluded.”

Everyone hesitated for a moment. Although the risks were considerable, the potential for opportunity was also great.

Each person mulled over their thoughts, as the prospect of leading the alliance presented a significant temptation, and no one believed they were inferior.

Charlie remained silent in his chair.

Jack Yaleman’s ambitions appeared far-reaching; he was clearly positioning himself to access the mainland.

Yet, Charlie had no interest in this metaphysical alliance; he intended to remain a mere spectator.

Before long, a middle-aged man with a short beard stood up.

The middle-aged man casually produced a palm-sized jade slip, waved it in the air, and it glowed brilliantly. He declared, “I am Jared Young from Dayton. I would like to ask Master Yaleman about his ability to perform random divinations.”

The Young family is one rooted in metaphysics, focusing on divine forcast, which had been passed down from generation to generation.

Jared Young is the 46th generation direct descendant, renowned in Dayton, and naturally, he felt a sense of superiority. His first challenge was directed at Jack Yaleman!

“Excellent!”

A surge of applause erupted from the audience.

Jared Young lifted his chin with pride. “This jade slip has been passed down since the Northern Tang Dynasty. It has assisted many Yi scholars in predicting the future! When it comes to the best in the Newton area, I believe the Jones family deserves the top rank.”

Jack Yaleman stepped forward, nodded slightly at Jared Young, and replied with a smile, “This jade slip is indeed a valuable item, but it won’t be yours for long…”

He reached into his pocket, retrieved a pouch, unfastened it, and pulled out a piece of talisman paper, measuring an inch in size. This talisman paper shimmered and was inscribed with cinnabar runes.

“Arhat Golden Talisman!”

Upon seeing this golden talisman, the crowd gasped in surprise.

Jasmine explained to Charlie, “The Arhat Golden Talisman is crafted by eighteen monks chanting sutras for 49 days and then consecrated. It serves as a potent talisman for suppressing evil.”

Charlie offered a slight smile and remarked, “It’s rather ordinary; not all that special.”

At his words, everyone turned to look at him with disapproval.

Jack Yaleman sneered, “You lack any real skill, yet here you are boasting.”

Everyone understood that the Arhat Golden Talisman is a rare treasure. Finding eighteen accomplished monks is no easy task, and the process of making it requires the right conditions. The failure rate at creating such a talisman can reach up to 90%!

Moreover, the one in Jack Yaleman’s possession radiated golden light, making it extremely valuable!

“Enough talk—let’s begin the divination,” Jared Young huffed, then proceeded to make several hand seals before chanting a formula. After a moment, he said, “The divination commences now. A quarter of an hour later, there will be wind and thunder from the west.”

Jack Yaleman smiled gently, remaining still. “yes, there will be rumblings. To be precise, this isn’t just wind or thunder, it’s the result of a man-made disturbance due to an explosion, leading to imprisonment.”

Jared Young frowned, shaking his head. “Impossible! There’s no one indicated in the divination.”

Master Yaleman merely smiled and said nothing in response.

Curiosity gripped the crowd, and they waited anxiously.

A quarter of an hour quickly passed, and Jared Young nervously stared skyward, lost in thought.

At that moment, a loud “bang” echoed from the West, followed by a strong gust of wind, making the ground tremble slightly.

Zeke White grinned as he took out his phone, saying, “I just received a news alert. Someone was caught illegally mining rocks, which triggered a 2.4-magnitude earthquake. The police have arrested them.”

Jared Young’s complexion turned ashen, his body frozen in place. While he had anticipated wind and thunder, Master Yaleman had also accurately predicted that this was man-made and would lead to imprisonment.

He lifted his head, his previous arrogance evaporated and he awkwardly admitted, “Master Yaleman is remarkable. I, Jared, accept my defeat and will withdraw from this banquet!”

With that, he picked up the jade slip and turned to exit.

“Wait!” Zeke White shouted. “Master Jones, since you’ve participated, you must adhere to the rules.”

“What rules?” Jared Young retorted angrily.

“The rules dictate that the winner is entitled to take your belongings! Furthermore, you must publicly acknowledge that you will respect Master Yaleman from now on.”

“This is nonsense! It’s merely a banquet. You wish to take my magic tool and have me regard someone as my master? That’s just a fantasy!”

Jared Young scoffed in rage. With a fiery temper, he could not abide being belittled.

Jack Yaleman raised his hand and produced another rune. He traced a few symbols on it with his fingers and then recited “Hurry up and obey my command.”

“Crack!”

Before the eyes of the crowd, Jared Young’s jade slip shattered in two and fell to the ground.

“You!!”

Jared Young was stunned and furious, shaking with anger at the destruction of his treasure.

Jack Yaleman proclaimed with pride, “If you won’t follow the rules, then it deserves to be destroyed! I’m not interested in worthless items like yours!”

Jared Young’s face blanched. He realized the glaring gap in capability between him and Jack Yaleman.

One swift action from Jack easily shattered his treasure, while he lacked even the strength to retaliate.

Looking at the remnants of the jade slip on the ground, Jared Young gritted his teeth and conceded, “My skills are insufficient in comparison!”

With that, he turned away without even retrieving the broken jade slip, leaving under a cloud of humiliation.

Witnessing this exchange, the expressions of those present shifted dramatically. Jack Yaleman was clearly formidable. Those who had felt confident moments ago now found themselves hesitating.

Travis Lane frowned and quietly asked Matthew Gibson several questions.

Then, in a fit of anger, Travis Lane stood up and declared, “What’s the point of attending such a dull banquet? Farewell, everyone!”

With that, he marched out alongside Matthew Gibson.

Suddenly, four strong men in black emerged from both sides, blocking their exit.

Travis Lane exclaimed angrily, “What are you doing?”

“Mr. Lane, since you’ve arrived, why rush to leave?”

Jack Yaleman stepped closer, wearing a slight smile. “My banquet is not a venue where you can come and go as you wish. If you want to leave now, it would be a breach of the rules.”

Travis Lane retorted coldly, “I’m not part of your metaphysical community. You can elect your own leader, what concern is it of mine?”

Jack Yaleman shot back, “You can leave if you want, but leave your belongings and acknowledge me as your master!”

The Amazing Son In Law Chapter 97

The Amazing Son In Law Chapter 97

The next morning, Charlie took the villa key and access card given to him by Zeke and drove to the Thompson First Sales Center with Claire.

Soon, they arrived at the Thompson First Sales Center, where they found a large crowd in front of the entrance. It appeared that the residents of Aurous Hill were indeed very interested in the real estate at Thompson First Development Co. Even those who couldn’t afford it turned out to broaden their horizons.

Claire observed the throng and said to Charlie, “Charlie, there are so many people here. Since we can’t afford it, maybe we should just leave?”

Charlie smiled and replied, “Wife, since we’ve come all this way, why should we leave now? Besides, I really want to see what’s out there, will you accompany me?”

Reluctantly, Claire said, “Alright, it’s a good opportunity to see what the top-tier Thompson First Development Co. looks like.”

Upon entering, they noticed many visitors gathered around the large sand table as a guide explained the general layout of the Thompson First Development Community.

The real estate project developed by Thompson First in Aurous Hill is quite expansive. Surrounding the property are high-rise residential buildings, which feature relatively standard apartments ranging from 120 to 240 square meters, starting at a hefty price of $80,000 each.

At the heart of this extensive development is the villa area, renowned for its standalone houses and gardens. The villa sizes range from 300 square meters to over 1,000 square meters, complete with courtyards and basements, making the price exceedingly high at $130,000 per square meter.

In short, the villa given to Charlie by Zeke White is valued at a staggering $130 million!

The guide continued, “We provide exclusive property management and security services for the esteemed villa owners. Even though ordinary residences and villas share the same community, there’s a wall separating the villa area from the regular homes!”

“The outer residential zone is already quite secure, as no outsiders are permitted entry. The villa area, however, is even safer. To put it plainly, if a thief manages to infiltrate the outer residential area, he would never get past the villa area’s security. Therefore, villa owners can feel completely secure here!”

At that moment, a woman shouted in anger, “This is too much, right? You expect the owners of the ordinary residences to act as shields for the villa owners?”

Many people around nodded, it seemed they shared her sentiment.

Charlie recognized the voice and looked up, spotting a woman heavily made-up. It was Wendy, Claire’s cousin.

Why is she here?

Both Charlie and Claire exchanged surprised glances, and as they looked next to Wendy, they saw her father Christopher, her mother Hannah and her brother Harold!

Could it be that their family intends to buy a house?

Claire whispered to Charlie, “Look, Uncle and his family are here, maybe we should go!”

Charlie shook his head, “Why should we leave just because they’re here?”

Claire replied, “Aren’t you worried they’ll try to bully you again?”

Charlie smiled softly, “Don’t worry, I’ve dealt with so much pressure over the years that I’ve toughened up!”

“Alright then…” Claire nodded in agreement.

Just then, the guide addressed Wendy, who had voiced the complaint, with a smile, “Madam, we at Thompson First have always regarded villa owners as our most distinguished clientele. Our private swimming pools, upscale sports clubs, high-end fitness centers, golf courses and Michelin-starred restaurants from Italy are all located in the villa area, exclusively for villa owners!”

Wendy retorted angrily, “So what you’re saying is that the owners of the high-rises outside don’t count? We’ve paid our dues too! Why are we barred from access to these amenities?”

The guide quickly apologized, “I’m sorry, but we do have a clubhouse in the high-rise area. If you purchase a property there, you can use the clubhouse.”

Wendy pressed, “But why can’t we access the high-end health center? Can’t I play golf there?”

“No.” The guide replied, “Our facilities are specifically reserved for villa owners. I truly apologize for the inconvenience.”

Harold chimed in angrily, “What’s the deal here? We’re considering buying one of your largest 240-square-meter apartments for around 16 or 17 million! After spending so much money, we can’t use the facilities? Seriously, believe it or not, I might just walk away without buying anything!”

The guide answered with a smile, “To be honest, the reason we constructed this project alongside the standard residential area is due to city regulations that prevent us from developing a pure villa zone, as they believe it would waste land and space! So we built these ordinary residential buildings and all amenities here are strictly for villa owners! If you cannot accept that, feel free to purchase a villa, or simply don’t buy anything at all. Frankly, our units outside are performing well in fact, 80% were sold shortly after opening!”

Harold’s expression shifted to one of displeasure. He had thought that by threatening not to buy, he would gain leverage, but he was taken aback.

The guide’s implication was clear, if you want something, feel free to walk away.

Upset, Harold exclaimed to his family, “Let’s go. I’m not buying! We can go somewhere else with our money!”

Hannah, his mother, protested, “Why leave? I like this place and don’t want to buy elsewhere!”

Harold tried to reason, “Mom, living here just means being at the mercy of the villa owners, right? It’s not ideal being treated differently!”

“You don’t understand anything!” Hannah replied, “Even if the high-rise apartments aren’t as nice as the villas, the communities here in Aurous Hill are still the best! Besides, the villa your grandmother has is outdated.”

Christopher, standing beside them, concurred, “Your grandmother’s villa is indeed quite old and the surroundings are remote. There are no amenities, if you want to buy a pack of cigarettes at night, you have to drive quite a distance. This place is much more complete.”

He then added, “I agree with your mother, we will buy here!”

Harold sighed, realizing he was only putting on a show for the guide and now he felt embarrassed.

In his frustration, he suddenly spotted two familiar figures, sparking immediate interest. He exclaimed, “Oh, Claire, Charlie, what are you two doing here?”

Claire hadn’t expected Harold to spot them, and seeing that his voice drew the attention of his family, she laughed awkwardly and replied, “Charlie and I just came out to take a look.”

Harold immediately scoffed, “What’s this? With your family’s modest means and your useless husband, you think you can buy a home in such an upscale place as Thompson First Development Co.?”

The Amazing Son In Law Chapter 99

The Amazing Son In Law Chapter 99

Seeing the sales lady grow increasingly anxious, worried about losing her job for upsetting Charlie, he gently waved his hand and reassured her, “It’s a minor issue, I won’t hold it against you.”

He then added, “By the way, please inform these shortsighted individuals about Villa A05.”

The sales lady, feeling as if she had been granted a reprieve, quickly addressed the others, “In our Villa area in Thompson First, the Villa’s are categorized into four types A, B, C and D. Among these, the largest and most exclusive is the A-type. This Villa boasts three floors above ground and two below, complete with a private elevator. The total usable area exceeds 1,000 square meters and it features hundreds of square meters of front and back courtyards. Its price is over 100 million dollars, making it the most expensive Villa in all of Aurous Hill!”

The moment these words left her mouth, everyone was left speechless!

A Villa worth over 100 million dollars is equivalent to more than a dozen three-bedroom apartments. How could someone as plainly dressed as Charlie afford such an extravagant residence?

Harold’s face twisted with anger, while his sister and parents nearly exploded with envy!

Wendy exclaimed in disbelief, “Charlie! How on earth do you own a Villa here?”

With a slight smile, Charlie replied, “Someone gifted it to me, is that such a surprise?”

“Why do you deserve something like that?” Wendy exclaimed in frustration. She had always aspired for a life of luxury but had never had the opportunity to inhabit a Villa herself. Why did Charlie get to enjoy this privilege?

Charlie chose not to engage with her outburst and instead focused on her brother, Harold. “Harold, when are you going to take that leap off the building? I’m curious.” he said with a grin.

Harold’s expression darkened, his anger palpable as he clenched his fists. “Charlie, stop playing games with me. I still can’t believe you can afford this Villa! I don’t believe anyone would just give you a Villa! You need to explain how you came by it!”

Charlie shook his head with a smile, addressing those around him. “See what I mean? Some people just can’t handle losing.”

Then, turning to Harold, Charlie remarked, “Given your capabilities, you’ll only ever be able to buy a standard high-rise apartment and serve as a doorman for those of us who actually live in Villa’s. You are in no position to question where my Villa came from. Just remember, this is a place you will never be able to afford!”

“You…” Harold’s face turned a deep shade of crimson.

This was the first time Charlie had openly insulted him like this and what infuriated him most was that he had no retort!

How could he even respond? His Family’s struggle to buy a 240-square-meter apartment was palpable, while Charlie effortlessly possessed the largest Villa in the residential area. The disparity between them felt insurmountable.

In a sense, he had become the subject of Charlie’s ridicule, and it filled him with rage!

Through gritted teeth, he said darkly, “Charlie, you’re so impressive. You built such a large Villa without informing your Family at all. Do you still think of the Wilson Family?”

Charlie smiled, “Didn’t you always argue that I was no longer part of the Wilson Family? So why should I feel the need to inform you?”

At that moment, he turned to Claire, saying, “Wife, since we’re here, why not go take a look at our new Villa?”

Claire responded hesitantly, “This… what’s going on?”

With a gentle smile, Charlie replied, “I’ll explain it all to you in a bit.”

Just as he finished speaking, a familiar voice echoed in the air.

“Oh, brother and sister-in-law, you’re looking to buy a home in Thompson First? That’s fantastic!”

It was Charlie’s mother-in-law, Elaine! She was accompanied by Charlie’s father-in-law, Jacob!

Both Charlie and Claire were surprised by their unexpected arrival.

Claire rushed over, asking, “Mom and Dad, what brings you here?”

Elaine explained, “Your uncle and aunt called us, mentioning they wanted to view houses in Thompson First and asked for our input.”

As Elaine relayed this, she shot Charlie an annoyed glance.

Truth be told, she hadn’t wanted to come, especially since she had just argued with her daughter the day before about moving out of the old house. Yet here she was, summoned by Christopher’s Family to tag along for their house tour.

What was there to see? Didn’t they just want to parade their potential purchase of a Villa in front of us?

Elaine felt frustrated and unwilling to give Charlie any praise, especially considering she had hoped for a capable son-in-law who would afford her the same luxury.

Her gaze turned to her sister-in-law, Hannah, who had a smug expression. “Sister-in-law, you are truly remarkable! You’ve purchased a house in Thompson First already! I’m so envious! I wonder when our Family will get to live there. This Thompson First estate is such a high-end residence! You bought a 240-square-meter house? I honestly doubt our Family could save enough in fifty years!”

Although Elaine was irritated by her sister’s Family, she knew better than to disregard their status and thus began to flatter them earnestly.

However, Hannah’s expression soured as she glared at Elaine. “Elaine, what do you think you’re implying? Are you looking down on us?”

Hannah was furious! Her intention in bringing Jacob and Elaine was to boast about purchasing a luxurious Villa in Thompson, showcasing her own success while belittling them.

She hadn’t expected that her son-in-law would actually own a luxury Villa as well!

Now, Elaine’s comments felt like a direct jab at her ego, implying that her own achievements paled in comparison.

“You have a Villa worth hundreds of millions and yet you express envy over my situation?” she seethed. “That’s quite an insult!”

Feeling wronged, Elaine was taken aback. She had endeavored to flatter Hannah and yet felt accused of contempt. Did she really need to grovel to avoid misunderstandings?

Thus, Elaine forged ahead with her flattery, “Oh, sister-in-law, when comparing myself to you, I feel like a mere candle next to the sun! How could I dare look down on you? You’re about to settle down in Thompson First’s finest grade while I’m still stuck in my small, dilapidated home. Oh, our little house is truly falling apart, it can’t possibly compare to your luxurious Thompson First residence! Naturally, I envy you!”

Hannah was even more offended by Elaine’s words, her anger rendering her speechless. Her husband, Christopher, gritted his teeth. “Elaine, what’s with your condescending remarks? It’s just a Villa! Why are you acting so superior?”

He then turned to his brother, Jacob and coldly added, “Jacob, do I still mean anything to you as your brother? Or am I just invisible? For something as significant as a Villa, you didn’t even bother to inform the Family?”

Jacob was momentarily dumbfounded. “Villa? What Villa? Brother, are you looking to buy a Villa? Where did you find the money for that?”
