The Amazing Son In Law Chapter 80
Harold wanted to take the opportunity to get closer to Finn Baxendale, but he never expected Charles to kick him away so abruptly.
He tumbled several times on the ground before finally regaining his balance and sitting there, looking bewildered, “Mr. Baxendale, what’s going on? Is there a misunderstanding here?”
The others who were present stood in shock as well.
“Is this guy from the Wilson family? How did he manage to offend Mr. Baxendale?”
“The Wilson family has no real power to start with. Now that they’ve crossed Mr. Baxendale, they won’t have any chance to survive in Aurous Hill, right?”
A flurry of whispers filled the air as onlookers discussed the situation.
Many were watching the confrontation between Baxendale and Harold with the excitement of witnessing a spectacle.
At that moment, Baxendale glared at Harold and coldly retorted, “Misunderstanding? I misunderstand your mother!”
With that, he advanced and kicked him again, eliciting a scream from Harold.
Still not satisfied, Baxendale stepped on his chest and said sternly, “You scoundrel, do you even know who you’ve offended?”
Harold, clearly bewildered, replied, “I didn’t offend anyone, Mr. Baxendale. This is truly a great injustice…”
Baxendale raised his hand and slapped him twice, angrily cursing, “You fool, the two people you offended were guests of Miss Moore. I can’t contain my anger even if I were to kill you!”
Then, he immediately directed those around him, “Drag this scoundrel out and give him a good beating! Furthermore, from now on, aside from the two guests earlier, anyone from the Wilson family, including this Harold, is banned from entering our Treasure Pavilion. Whoever dares to let them in will have their legs broken!”
Following his orders, several security guards quickly began to beat Harold.
After the beating, they dragged him outside and unceremoniously tossed him out of the Treasure Pavilion.
Bruised and swollen, trembling all over, he was too terrified to utter a word. He realized he had caused a tremendous disaster that would jeopardize the entire Wilson family!
Yet, how could he have known that Charlie was actually a guest invited by Jasmine?
How could he possibly know the eldest daughter of the Moore family? How could this apparent nobody receive Jasmine’s favor?
…
Once Charlie and his father-in-law left, they drove home.
Jacob sighed in the car, “Charlie, I’m not trying to lecture you, but if you really can’t find the invitation letter, just let it go. Why go through the trouble of taking someone else’s?”
“Dad, there’s no issue with the invitation letter. It’s just that their people look down on us…” Charlie explained with a hint of frustration.
Jacob responded angrily, “If you were more capable, would they dare treat us like this? At the end of the day, you’re too incompetent and cowardly!”
Charlie shook his head, too tired to argue further.
At that moment, a Rolls-Royce sped up from behind. After passing their car, it slowed down and pulled over to the side of the road.
Noticing that the other vehicle was looking for him, Charlie stopped his car as well.
Jasmine emerged from the car, her long legs elegant as she approached, and said apologetically, “Mr. Wade, I sincerely apologize for the auction earlier. It was my fault for not making better arrangements. Please don’t let it trouble you.”
Charlie shook his head and replied, “It’s not your fault. It’s the Treasure Pavilion that needs to manage its staff better.”
Jasmine quickly added, “Mr. Wade, the Treasure Pavilion has already fired the manager responsible. Let’s return and continue participating in the auction, shall we?”
Charlie declined, saying, “I appreciate it, Miss Moore, but my good mood today has already been spoiled by a couple of nuisances. I won’t go back to the auction. Let’s talk about it another time.”
Jasmine expressed her regret, saying, “I’m so sorry, Mr. Wade.”
Then she pulled out a wooden box from her car and handed it to Charlie, saying, “Mr. Wade, this is a small gift from me as a token of apology…”
As soon as Charlie received the box, he sensed an aura emanating from it and decided not to refuse.
Seeing him accept the gift, Jasmine continued, “How about this? We will suspend today’s auction and I’ll have Baxendale reorganize the Treasure Pavilion team. Once that’s done, we’ll hold another auction. I hope Mr. Wade and Mr. Wilson will show us your support then.”
Jacob was left in shock. Isn’t this the eldest daughter of the Moore family who came the last time when Vintage Deluxe accidentally broke that antique bottle? She was treating her son-in-law with such courtesy, even willing to pause the auction for him and reschedule it. Isn’t this too generous?
Is it solely because he repaired that bottle last time?
My goodness, I need to view my son-in-law in a new light from now on.
Charlie could see Jasmine’s sincerity, so he nodded slightly and said, “Then when the auction resumes, we’ll come to support it.”
His father-in-law eagerly piped in, “Yes, yes, yes, I will definitely go.”
“Alright then, you two can head back first. I’m really sorry about today!”
After apologizing yet again, Jasmine took her leave.
Once she was gone, Jacob pointed at the wooden box in Charlie’s hand and asked eagerly, “Charlie, what kind of treasure did Miss Moore give you? Open it up and let’s see!”
Charlie nodded and opened the wooden box.
Suddenly, a strong aura poured out, making everyone feel rejuvenated.
“Hey, what is that?” Jacob leaned closer for a better look, his face immediately registering surprise.
Inside the box was a black object, about the size of a fist, which at first glance resembled a piece of coal, though it was rough and covered in dirt.
Upon seeing the object, Charlie felt a rush of astonishment, secretly impressed by Jasmine’s generosity.
Jacob scrutinized the “black lump” several times but couldn’t discern its true nature. He remarked in confusion, “I thought it was a treasure, but it looks like just a piece of wood.”
Charlie smiled and replied, “Dad, it is indeed wood, but it’s exceptionally rare.”
Jacob was even more intrigued. “Son-in-law, what exactly is this?”
Charlie explained, “This is lightning wood.”
“It forms from trees struck by lightning.”
Jacob had heard of it somewhat, quickly saying, “But that kind of wood is often found when lightning strikes in the mountains. How can it be valuable?”
Charlie smiled, adding, “Dad, regular trees struck by lightning are common enough. But this piece, which has turned black and jade-like due to the intensity of the lightning, indicates it was subjected to extraordinarily high temperatures, it could only have been carbonized instantly like this because of a powerful lightning strike, probably from a giant thunderbolt that happens only once in a century.”
“Moreover, this wood struck by lightning has a shiny black surface with faint blood veins, signifying it is the heart of the king of wood, known as ‘Raja Kayu,’ which is even rarer.”
Upon hearing this, Jacob scoffed, “I can’t believe a piece of wood struck by lightning could be worth so much! They’re all a bunch of con artists. The truly valuable items are antiques and cultural relics. If Emperor Qianlong had polished this wood, maybe it would fetch two cents.”
Charlie smiled, knowing this kind of thing had great value for him. Not only was it rich in energy, but according to the records in the Apocalyptic Book, it could even be refined.
However, Jacob understandably couldn’t grasp this concept.
So Charlie kept his explanation short and put the box away.

The Amazing Son In Law Chapter 77
The person most devastated by the downfall of Elite Vault Enterprise is Lady Wilson.
The Wilson family is currently facing financial difficulties, and she had hoped that Claire might persuade Elite Vault Enterprise to extend credit for a batch of building materials, which would have provided a temporary relief from their monetary woes. However, to her shock, the entire Elite Vault Enterprise was wiped out in a matter of hours! At this moment, Lady Wilson is primarily concerned about their financial situation and figuring out how to raise funds has become her utmost priority.
Claire chose not to inform her grandmother about the events of the previous day. Following this experience, she secretly vowed to herself that she would no longer involve herself in her family’s matters, choosing instead to focus solely on her partnership with Emgrand Group. For anything beyond that, even if her grandmother were to plead with her, she would refuse to intervene.
The following day, Claire felt a significant improvement in both her mental and physical state, buzzing with excitement to dive back into work.
Charlie decided to take a brief walk to buy some groceries that morning. Upon returning home, he noticed his father-in-law, Jacob, sitting on the sofa with a gloomy expression, sighing heavily.
Furrowing his brow, Charlie asked, “Dad, why do you look so down? What got you feeling upset now? Did someone con you in an antique deal again?”
Taking a sip of jasmine tea, Jacob replied irritably, “Don’t even mention antiques! It irritates me just thinking about it!”
“What’s going on?” Charlie pressed, curiosity piqued. “Did you really get scammed?”
Jacob explained, “It’s not that I was conned, it’s about the auction quotas at the Treasure Pavilion!”
Charlie raised an eyebrow in surprise. “What’s the Treasure Pavilion?”
Jacob replied “It’s a clubhouse operated by the Aurous Hill Cultural and Art Association, where high-class cultural and antique auctions frequently take place. They offer rare items that you can’t find in stores. Each family gets a quota to participate.”
As Jacob spoke, a glimmer of excitement flickered on his face, but it quickly faded into disappointment. “The Wilson family only received one invitation and your grandmother actually gave it to Harold. That kid has never dealt with antiques, he doesn’t know anything about them. What’s the point of him going? He’ll just make a fool of himself!”
Charlie understood how passionate Jacob was about antiques and recognized how much it hurt him to lose this opportunity.
Trying to lighten the mood, Charlie said, “Dad, if you really want to go, why don’t you just buy an invitation from a reseller?”
Jacob waved his hand dismissively, “The Treasure Pavilion Auction is organized by the Moore family, the most powerful family in Aurous Hill. Countless people are vying for those invitations. How would I ever get one?”
Charlie smiled to himself, realizing that this was an auction hosted by the Moore family.
Didn’t Jasmine, the eldest daughter of the Moore family, ask him for help with identifying antiques? Obtaining an invitation should be a simple matter of reaching out to her.
With this in mind, Charlie replied nonchalantly, “I have friends within the Aurous Hill elite, it shouldn’t be too difficult to secure two invitations.”
Jacob was skeptical and shook his head, “Forget it. What kind of respectable friends do you even have? I bet they’re just bad influences. How could they possibly have connections to the Moore family?”
Not bothering to engage further, Charlie went downstairs, called Jasmine and said, “Miss Moore, could you help me get two invitations to the Treasure Pavilion auction?”
With enthusiasm, Jasmine replied, “Mr. Wade, will two be enough? If not, I can get you a few more.”
Charlie glanced at the invitation he received, replying, “That’s plenty, just my father-in-law and I will be attending together.”
Jacob was an avid collector of cultural relics, while Claire and her mother-in-law had no interest. Even if they were invited, they would consider it a waste of time.
After the recent experience at the Antique Street, Charlie knew he needed to accompany his father-in-law to prevent him from getting swept away and losing everything in a bad deal. He was also keen to see if any rare spiritual medicines or treasures would be up for auction.
Speaking of treasures, Charlie couldn’t help but remember the stone inscribed with “peace and wealth.”
After rescuing Loreen, that stone had vanished. He assumed it must have been lost in the process of helping her.
He retraced his steps from that day, but unfortunately, no trace of it remained.
Fortunately, he had absorbed the stone’s reiki; otherwise, he would regret losing it immensely.
Considering that everything auctioned at the Treasure Pavilion would be extraordinary treasures, he hoped to find something remarkable.
……
By the time Claire returned home from work, Jacob was still sulking and lacked the appetite to join for dinner.
Charlie could sense that he was upset over the auction invitation.
Just then, Jasmine called, saying, “Mr. Wade, I apologize. I’m in Lancaster this afternoon, but I’m downstairs at your house now. I’ll deliver the invitation letter.”
Charlie quickly responded, “I’ll come down to get it!”
He dashed out the door.
Jasmine arrived in her Rolls-Royce and as soon as she spotted Charlie, she exited the vehicle and handed over two invitations.
Charlie thanked her and headed back inside without further conversation.
Upon entering his home, Jacob remained in a sour mood.
Claire tried to console him, saying, “Oh, Dad, don’t be upset. Grandma gave the invitation to Harold hoping he would seize the chance to meet more people from the upper class and build connections.”
Jacob sighed and replied, “Your grandmother has always favored me less since I was a child. She has little regard for me, instead doting on your uncle and Harold. Nothing has changed, it genuinely frustrates me!”
Claire nodded knowingly, aware of her grandmother’s biases.
Initially, Grandma thought her father lacked potential, leaning more on her uncle.
Then, as Claire couldn’t inherit the family business being a girl, she grew increasingly indulgent toward Harold.
After Claire married Charlie, her grandmother practically abandoned any belief in her family’s prospects.
At that moment, Charlie approached Jacob and presented him with two golden invitations, saying, “Dad, I managed to get the invitations you were hoping for.”
“What!!” Jacob sprang up as if propelled by a spring! He snatched the invitation from Charlie’s hand, eagerly inspecting it and was so thrilled he could barely articulate a response.
Claire, standing nearby, was equally astonished. She grabbed the invitation from her father and examined it, it indeed was an invitation to the Treasure Pavilion.
“Fantastic! Charlie, you’re truly my amazing son-in-law.” Jacob exclaimed, his face flushed with excitement as he struggled to find his words.
He clapped Charlie on the shoulder, saying, “My daughter made the right choice marrying you.”
“Tsk, it’s just an invitation and you’re acting like you’ve won the lottery,” Elaine, his mother-in-law, scolded teasingly.
Jacob clutched the invitation tightly and retorted, “What do you know? This is an invitation from the Treasure Pavilion!”
With newfound enthusiasm, he turned to Charlie, saying, “Quick, sit down, it’s time to eat!”
Then, he called out to Claire, “Go grab the bottle of fine whiskey from my room, let’s celebrate over a few drinks tonight with my wonderful son-in-law!”
Elaine shot Jacob an annoyed look but said nothing further, observing his delight.
Claire felt a surge of happiness but also curiosity. After retrieving the bottle, she settled beside Charlie and nudged him teasingly, “How did you manage to get this invitation?”
Earlier that day, she had inquired at her workplace about acquiring an invitation for her father but learned that invitations to the Treasure Pavilion were limited to individuals within each family! How had Charlie secured one?
Charlie smiled and replied, “I asked a friend for it. He had two invitations but didn’t want to attend, so he passed them along to me.”
“Is it really that coincidental?” Claire questioned skeptically. “I’ve never heard you mention this friend with such an impressive family background. What’s his name?”
Casually, Charlie responded, “His last name is Quinton. I helped him out last time at the antique street. Dad knows him…”
Jacob chimed in, “That’s true, the one named Quinton even gifted a jade bracelet, which is supposedly worth five or six million!”

The Amazing Son In Law Chapter 39
Charlie took a seat alongside Claire and Loreen, with Clinton Tucker sliding in next to Loreen.
Immediately upon sitting down, he smiled and inquired, “Loreen, I heard you came to Aurous Hill to work at the Emgrand Group?”
Loreen nodded, replying, “I just started my job.”
Clinton Tucker grinned, saying, “What a coincidence! My father works at the Emgrand Group as the deputy general manager of a department. I can ask him to look after you in the future.”
At this revelation, several people at the table gasped, exclaiming, “Gerald, your father is the deputy general manager at the Emgrand Group?”
“Yep,” Clinton Tucker confirmed with a nod. “He was promoted just last year.”
Someone quickly chimed in, “The deputy general manager’s annual salary must be several million, right? That’s impressive! No wonder your family is so wealthy!”
Clinton Tucker chuckled, “Several million is just the base salary. My father holds significant power and has additional income streams as well. The Emgrand Group is currently involved in a hotel project, which means he could earn at least 10 to 20 million from that.”
A male classmate sitting across from him interjected, “Gerald, I also want to join the Emgrand Group. I’ve submitted my resume several times without any response. Can you ask your uncle if he might recommend me?”
Clinton Tucker nodded enthusiastically, “Sure, just send me your resume on WeChat later, and I’ll have a word with him.”
Charlie couldn’t help but frown. He hadn’t been aware that Clinton Tucker’s father was a senior executive at the Emgrand Group.
This is getting interesting. He decided he should text Doris Young later to ask her to let Clinton Tucker’s father go.
Deliberately, he asked, “Clinton Tucker, if your father is so well-connected at the Emgrand Group, why hasn’t he helped you get in?”
Clinton Tucker sneered dismissively, “What do you know? There’s no point in joining the Emgrand Group. A father-son relationship can’t be hidden. If I went in, I’d be under constant scrutiny.”
With an air of arrogance, he added, “So I don’t even consider the Emgrand Group. I’ve started my own building materials company. Eventually, I’ll collaborate directly with the Emgrand Group through my father and secure all the contracts for their materials.”
“Oh my gosh!” someone exclaimed. “You’ll make a fortune, right?”
Clinton Tucker scoffed and said, “It should be decent, you could say I’m looking at earning thousands a year.”
He then purposefully glanced at Charlie, asking, “Charlie, what kind of work are you doing now? Spending your time washing clothes and cooking after marrying into the family?”
Laughter erupted around the table.
Charlie replied calmly, “Every day, aside from washing clothes and cooking, I also have to drive my wife to work and give her back massages. Life is quite fulfilling.”
Clinton Tucker’s anger was practically palpable. This guy had the audacity to act so self-satisfied; he really was shameless!
Suppressing his rage, he clenched his teeth and retorted, “Charlie, I didn’t expect you to be so content being a stay-at-home husband!”
“What else can I be?” Charlie replied casually. “I haven’t stolen or robbed anyone. Living off my abilities as a husband, why shouldn’t I feel at ease?”
The classmates were taken aback.
They had seen shameless people before, but none quite like this!
What amazed them more was that everyone was still envious!
After all, Claire was stunningly beautiful. Many people would dream of being supported by someone like her!
Envy, jealousy, and frustration filled the air!
If given the chance to support a beauty like Claire, who would care about being the son-in-law? Being a son-in-law is still winning at life!
Clinton Tucker was left speechless.
At that moment, Douglas’s wife, Lily Lewis, suddenly appeared on stage.
After thanking everyone for their kindness with a warm smile, she continued, “Thank you all for the many gifts today. Douglas and I truly appreciate it. To express our gratitude, we’d like to announce the details of the gifts now. Thanks once again!”
Since it was the opening ceremony, announcing the gifts was a key part of the event.
Initially, Douglas had hesitated to do this, but he didn’t have much say in the matter, so he let Lily Lewis take control.
However, many of their classmates weren’t surprised, they all had a competitive mindset and wanted to see who gave what, allowing them to judge how their old classmates were faring in life.
Lily Lewis began calling out names.
“Thank you, classmate Jack Brown, for the $1,000 red envelope!”
“Thank you, classmate Bella Walsh, for the pair of gold ingots!”
“Thank you, classmate Ola Rivers, for the jade Pixiu!”
“Thank you, classmate Clinton Tucker, for the $10,000 red envelope!”
Most of the earlier gifts, whether red envelopes or other presents, were mostly valued around $1,000. When it came to Clinton Tucker, however, his $10,000 red envelope astonished all the classmates.
For just an opening ceremony, a $10,000 red envelope seemed excessive!
Many people looked at Clinton Tucker in awe, praising his generosity.
Clinton Tucker felt proud, believing he had secured the top spot among his classmates.
Then Lily Lewis announced, “Thank you, Charlie and Claire, for the old painting!”
At these words, laughter erupted in the room!
An old painting? It couldn’t be worth more than a few dollars, right?
These two were exceptionally stingy! Douglas had opened this lavish restaurant and hosted a banquet costing hundreds per person; here were Charlie and Claire, dining for free while presenting an old painting? Didn’t they worry about being ridiculed?
Clinton Tucker couldn’t help but sneer, “Charlie, you can afford a BMW 520 and even modify it. Why did you only bring such a worthless item as a gift for our classmate’s restaurant opening?”
Charlie smiled faintly, “You don’t know its background, so how can you label it as worthless?”
Clinton Tucker scoffed, “Don’t think I don’t know what you’re trying to pull. You bought that old fake antique to pass it off as something valuable, hoping to confuse people about its worth!”
He then said assertively, “Tell me the truth: how much did you pay for that old painting? A hundred or eighty dollars?”
Charlie smiled slightly, “That painting is worth more than everything anyone else has given here today!”
“Hahaha!” Clinton Tucker was the first to laugh, saying, “You’re talking big without thought! I gave a $10,000 red envelope, and with more than 20 classmates present, that’s over $20,000 each. Are you claiming your painting is worth more than $30,000?”
Charlie replied with a smile, “You undervalue it.”
“Ahaha!”
The entire class burst into laughter.
Everyone felt Charlie was simply trying to show off!
What kind of nonsense was this? An old painting valued at tens of thousands of dollars? Who did he think he was fooling?
At this moment, Lily Lewis on stage also looked down on him and curiously asked, “Student Charlie, whose ancient painting did you give? Can it possibly be worth tens of thousands?”
Charlie replied calmly, “It’s by a painter from the Dutch Golden Age, not very famous.”
Lily Lewis laughed, saying, “Oh, how coincidental. My father is an appraiser of cultural relics and quite authoritative. His name is Lawson Lewis, anyone who knows about antiques should be familiar with him, right?”
Loreen exclaimed, “Lawson Lewis? The expert on cultural relics Lawson Lewis? I remember him, he’s appeared on Television! Is he your father?”
Lily Lewis smiled and confirmed, “Yes, he is my father. He’s upstairs right now. Would you like me to call him down to appraise Charlie’s painting?”
Clinton Tucker stood up, saying loudly, “Then I’ll ask Lily to bring uncle down to help us assess it. If Charlie’s painting truly exceeds the value of all the gifts today, I, Clinton Tucker, will eat this entire table right here!”

The Amazing Son In Law Chapter 19
“I am not worthy, so how can you be deserving?”
Wendell Jones shot Charlie a cold look and replied, “You’re nothing but a loser. You can’t even take care of your own wife. Claire deserves better than being with you. If she were with me, I could give her everything she desires!”
Charlie’s expression hardened, and he lowered his voice to deliver his warning, “I’m giving you two choices. First, apologize to Claire and retract what you said in front of everyone. Second, I will make your family’s business completely bankrupt. Choose wisely.”
“Hahahaha, are you serious? Who do you think you are to bankrupt my family’s business?”
Wendell Jones laughed mockingly, his disdain for Charlie evident. “Are you daydreaming, fool? What can you possibly do to ruin my company? Do you even understand its value? You think you can bring it down just by saying so?”
With a blank expression, Charlie fixed his gaze on Wendell Jones for a moment, as if he were foolish. He then casually pulled out his phone and called Stephen Thompson.
“In three minutes, I want to see Wendell Jones’s company financially ruined and in liquidation, with debts exploding!”
To suggest that a company valued in the billions could be bankrupted in three minutes was, frankly, ludicrous!
Wendell Jones eyed Charlie with contempt and sneered, “You’ve lost your mind! Do you think you’re the super rich guy on the internet?”
Afterward, Wendell Jones continued coldly, “You’re pathetic, stop pretending. I’ll give you two choices. First, kneel and apologize to me, then swiftly divorce Claire. Second, I’ll make sure you’re thoroughly destroyed, allowing you to watch as Claire and I enjoy our lives together. You have one minute to decide!”
Charlie looked at his phone and replied, “You have one minute left. Are you sure you don’t want to reconsider your approach?”
“Get lost! You have thirty seconds to think it over. If you don’t kneel, you’ll deeply regret it for the rest of your life!” Wendell Jones retorted indifferently.
“Twenty seconds!”
“Ten seconds!”
“Five seconds!”
“Time’s up. Don’t blame me for being ruthless. It’s you, loser, who brought this upon yourself!” Wendell Jones said, adjusting his collar before signaling to a few bodyguards to move in and attack.
However, at that moment, Wendell Jones’s phone rang unexpectedly.
He was startled and quickly answered when he saw it was his father calling.
“Dad, I’m already at the banquet. Are you here?”
On the line, Wendell Jones’s father roared, “You useless fool! Who did you manage to offend? What trouble have you caused? All the shareholders are frantically dumping our stocks, and their value has plummeted by more than 80%!”
His father continued furiously, “The bank has suddenly demanded immediate repayment! All our partners have quit collaborating with us and are halting settlements! Our cash flow is in shambles! Our only option now is bankruptcy and liquidation!”
As Wendell Jones listened, his face went pale, and cold sweat dripped from his forehead.
“Our family is doomed! It’s all over!”
He wanted to ask more, but suddenly he heard police sirens in the background, followed by knocking and officers urging his father to cooperate with their investigation.
Weakness washed over him as his phone slipped from his grip and shattered upon impact with the floor.
His legs buckled, and he found himself kneeling before Charlie.
The wind seemed to bite, chilling him to the bone both inside and out.
Witnessing this, the bodyguards stood frozen in shock and confusion, too stunned to act.
Trembling with fear, Wendell Jones whispered to Charlie, “Who are you? You did this, didn’t you?”
The onlookers were equally astonished. How had Wendell Jones suddenly knelt before Charlie, the son-in-law of the Wilson family? What had transpired?
Charlie looked down at him, leaned in slightly, and said, “I gave you a chance to choose, but you didn’t take the right option.”
“I realize my mistake. I sincerely apologize. Please let me go! Claire has nothing to do with this. I haven’t harmed her in any way. I never helped with the Emgrand Group project, everything I said before was a lie. I beg you, please forgive me and my family!”
Wendell Jones repeatedly bowed his head in apology. He never imagined that a son-in-law of the Wilson family would wield such power! One simple phone call had led to his family’s ruin!
Looking at Charlie’s face, he found it more terrifying than that of any monster.
Someone who could bring his family to its knees in mere minutes was not someone to cross!
Charlie shook his head and said, “You should feel fortunate, as I at least spared your life. Otherwise, your entire family would be in grave danger.”
At these words, Wendell Jones turned pale, shaking violently.
Charlie regarded him coolly and added, “To be honest, I am the super rich guy you saw online. If you don’t want to end up dead, I suggest you keep my identity to yourself. Otherwise, neither you nor your father will see the sunrise tomorrow.”
With that, Charlie gave Wendell Jones a light pat on the cheek, disregarded him, and walked into the banquet hall.
Wendell Jones collapsed onto the floor, feeling utterly humiliated and too frightened to oppose Charlie.
As Charlie entered the hall, Wendell Jones scrambled after him.
Spotting Claire nearby, he crawled to her, kneeling at her feet, continually apologizing. “Claire, I’m sorry! I shouldn’t have spread rumors about you. The Emgrand Group project had nothing to do with me! Please, let me off the hook!”
Claire was taken aback by his sudden display of submission and stumbled back, only to find herself in a warm embrace.
Turning to see Charlie had caught her, Claire felt a wave of relief wash over her.
Seeing Claire carefully dressed and radiant, Charlie instinctively stepped forward to support her as Wendell Jones lunged toward her. Charlie fiercely glared at Wendell, warning him to back off.
Terrified, Wendell Jones quickly rolled away, desperate to avoid provoking Charlie further.
Claire, puzzled, asked, “What’s wrong with him?”
Charlie held her gently and replied, “Don’t worry, I think he’s just unwell. Just ignore him.”
Although they were husband and wife, there hadn’t been any intimate moments between them. Claire could feel the warmth radiating from Charlie’s embrace, causing her ears to flush.
Quickly pulling away, she said hesitantly, “Um, the Chairman of the Emgrand Group is supposed to be here. I want to go see…”

The Amazing Son In Law Chapter 16
Sabrina wrapped her arms around herself and spoke with a haughty tone, “I have nothing but disdain for you. What’s wrong with that? Am I not allowed to say it?”
“Who among my classmates doesn’t know that you became a live-in son-in-law after you graduated? When we were in school, you barely had enough to eat, and now you’re living off others after graduation. You’re such a failure and still have the nerve to ask me for help? Who do you think you are?”
Charlie felt a surge of anger welling up inside him.
He believed in a principle of live and let live, but Sabrina had definitely crossed the line this time!
Just then, he received a text message from Stephen Thompson. It read, “Master, Shangri-La is part of our Wade Group. The Shangri-La here in Aurous Hill is just one of our many properties.”
Charlie’s eyes widened in shock!
The Shangri-La belongs to the Wade family?
He instinctively replied, “You can’t be serious, can you?”
Stephen Thompson continued, “The person in charge of the Aurous Hill Shangri-La is named Isaac Cameron. His phone number is 155…… You should call him, he will handle everything.”
“Understood.”
Noticing Charlie’s focused attention on his phone, Sabrina grew increasingly irritated.
She felt as if she were toying with a small dog, wanting to hear it yelp in response.
But to her surprise, Charlie remained silent.
It seemed that the class monitor, who once struck her as a loser in college, was still the same person now, indifferent to her taunts.
Frustrated, she increased her mockery, sneering, “Oh, class monitor, you are certainly a master of patience!”
“By the way, I heard you’ve been married to Claire, the beauty of our school, for three years, but you still haven’t been able to sleep with her. Is she someone else’s mistress? Are you just a cover for her while she fools around with others? Hahaha!”
Charlie frowned in response.
It was one thing to insult him, but now she was insulting his wife?
Sabrina, you’re asking for trouble!
He then called Isaac Cameron, the manager of Shangri-La, casting a glance at Sabrina as he said coolly, “I want to know how Shangri-La finds its employees. It seems people like you, full of nonsense, can still get hired!”
“How dare you speak to me like that? Are you asking for trouble?” Sabrina shouted in fury, turning to the nearby security guard. “He’s causing a disturbance! Get him out of here!”
Meanwhile, Charlie had already dialed the number.
“Hello, who’s this?” came a commanding voice from the other end of the line.
Charlie replied coldly, “Is this Isaac Cameron? My name is Charlie Wade. I’m standing at the entrance of Shangri-La, and I want you to come down in one minute. If you don’t, you can say goodbye to your job here.”
The commanding voice on the phone suddenly shifted to panic. “Y-Young Master? Are you really at the entrance of Shangri-La?”
“You have fifty seconds!” Charlie retorted.
The man on the other end seemed to panic even more, exclaiming, “Wait, I’ll be there right away!”
Sabrina found Charlie’s phone call amusing and said sarcastically, “Charlie, I didn’t know you were such an expert at boasting! Do you even realize who Mr. Cameron is? Even the two top executives at Shangri-La wouldn’t dare to act tough in front of him. Do you really think you can intimidate me with your little phone game?”
Charlie responded calmly, “Whether I’m bluffing or not, you’ll find out in thirty seconds.”
Sabrina laughed derisively, “Fine, class monitor Wade, I’ll wait alongside you for thirty seconds! Actually, let’s make it three minutes! If our Manager Cameron doesn’t come out in three minutes, I’ll instruct security to shut you up! Let’s see how much you can brag after that! Hahaha! You really crack me up!”
Twenty seconds passed.
A middle-aged man in a finely tailored suit rushed out in a flurry.
He was an important figure in the Wade family, highly respected since managing the Shangri-La in Aurous Hill. He had never faced such a state of panic before.
But this was no ordinary moment, he never expected to be met by the Young Master in a place he managed.
Just as Sabrina was about to continue her mockery of Charlie, she noticed the security guards behind her gawking in horror.
Turning around instinctively, she was struck speechless as she saw Mr. Cameron sprinting out.
She gazed back at Charlie in disbelief, “This… How is this even possible…”
“Who is Mr. Wade?!” Isaac Cameron’s voice trembled.
Those around the Wade family stood in shock. Mr. Cameron, who could shake the very foundation of Aurous Hill, was clearly rattled!
At that moment, Charlie declared, “I am!”
Isaac Cameron rushed to him, bowing deeply, “Young…”
Before he could complete his thought, Charlie quickly interrupted, “Mr. Cameron, let’s keep some of this between us.”
Upon hearing this, Isaac Cameron became even more anxious, trembling in fear.
Goodness, how could I be so foolish! The Young Master’s identity must be confidential, and I almost revealed it. If he holds this against me, I am finished!
In a rush, he adjusted his tone and said respectfully, “Mr. Wade, welcome to Shangri-La. Please, let’s go to my office to discuss further.”
Sabrina stood frozen, unable to comprehend the reality unfolding before her eyes.
Who exactly is this Charlie? How could he command such respect from the manager of Shangri-La?
I’ve ridiculed him so much—surely, he wouldn’t hold a grudge, right?
