The Amazing Son In Law Chapter 70

The Amazing Son In Law Chapter 70

Loreen felt a sharp pain in her legs and she was engulfed by despair as tears streamed down her face.

The young man looked at her tear-streaked beautiful face with a twisted sense of desire, gulping hard before ordering, “Put her in the car!”

Nearby, someone chimed in, “Mr. Westbrook, when do we get a turn with this beauty?”

The young man replied coldly, “Once I’m finished, I’ll let you have your chance!”

After saying that, he reached out to grab her and throw her into the car.

At that moment, a series of heartbreaking screams erupted outside!

“Ah!”

A chorus of cries filled the air.

Angrily, the young man shouted, “What’s going on?”

But as he lifted his head, a sudden gust of wind hit his face!

Before he could react, a sharp pain seared across his face, stars dancing before his eyes as his nose cracked with a sickening sound and blood poured from it.

Feeling as though he had been struck by a hammer, he fell back, screaming in agony.

As he collapsed, he noticed several of his accomplices sprawled on the ground like lifeless bodies.

Loreen looked up in terror, her beautiful eyes widening in astonishment.

Before her stood a man in a black mask, his gaze as cold as steel.

Surprised and relieved, Loreen thought, Who is this man? Is he here to rescue me? He must be here to save me!

The young man lay on the ground, blood-smeared and unable to rise.

This man moved so quickly, taking down four of them in the blink of an eye. The remaining masked men were momentarily stunned before rushing toward him, roaring and calling for reinforcements.

“You! Who are you?” Loreen asked, sitting on the ground as she looked up at him.

The man didn’t respond but quickly scooped her up and dashed deeper into the alley.

Loreen gasped for breath, her heart racing as shock coursed through her.

The shouts of the pursuing men and the roar of motorcycles echoed behind them, closing in.

As the wind whipped past her face, Loreen, having lost too much blood, clung tightly to the man.

For some inexplicable reason, she felt a sense of familiarity about his presence.

Little did she know that the mysterious man was actually her best friend’s husband, Charlie.

Charlie had been passing by and spotted Loreen being surrounded.

Fearing for her safety, he had donned a mask to rescue her.

Empowered by the aura he gained from the white stone, Charlie’s abilities had significantly improved, allowing him to move faster than ever before.

With the many alleys in the area, Charlie quickly lost their pursuers behind him.

After running a considerable distance, he finally stopped in a secluded part of a park.

As darkness descended, the lush vegetation around them provided cover, even if their pursuers caught up.

He gently set Loreen down and noticed her pants stained with blood, his expression instantly hardening.

Despite the significant blood loss, Loreen was still conscious. With a pale face, she expressed her gratitude, saying, “Thank you for saving me. May I ask… who are you?”

Charlie glanced at her but chose not to speak.

After all, she had always looked down on him. Even if he revealed his identity, what good would it do? It would only complicate things further.

It was better to remain anonymous for now.

Moreover, he didn’t come to her aid out of a desire for appreciation; he was simply acting on behalf of his wife, Claire.

Noticing Charlie’s silence, Loreen understood that he likely preferred to keep his identity hidden, so she refrained from asking again.

However, her strong-willed nature wouldn’t let her feel entirely comfortable with the situation. Since he had saved her but hadn’t accepted her gratitude, she felt he owed her something.

Just as Loreen was about to speak again, she heard his hoarse, cold voice say, “Take off your pants.”

Loreen’s eyes widened in shock as she looked up at the masked man, embarrassment and anger flooding through her.

She thought she had narrowly escaped danger, only to find herself in a worse predicament.

In this isolated place, with the man’s apparent skill, even her screams wouldn’t guarantee her escape.

Despair washed over her, and she clenched her teeth defiantly. “Don’t try to touch me! I will never allow anyone to humiliate me! I would rather die than let you harm me!”

Charlie was taken aback for a moment, then deliberately lowered his voice, pointing at her leg. “Your hamstring is injured, and the wound is dangerously close to the main artery. If you don’t get treatment quickly, you could end up disabled. If you lose any more blood before reaching the hospital, it will be too late. What do you choose?”

Loreen looked at him in disbelief, her cheeks flushing with heat.

She had assumed he intended to take advantage of her, but his words revealed otherwise…

Observing Loreen’s stunned expression, Charlie let out a quiet sigh.

Tentatively, she asked, “Can you… help me stop the bleeding?”

Charlie nodded. “I have some knowledge of Chinese medicine and can use acupuncture to halt the bleeding and ease your injury. Then you will have time to get proper treatment at the hospital.”

“Th-thank you,” Loreen stammered, her face now flushed, her voice barely above a whisper.

She hesitated to look at her wound, feeling deeply conflicted.

The injury was on her upper thigh, meaning she had to remove her pants.

But if she did, he would see her naked!

The Thomas family held strict values and Loreen never associated closely with other men, let alone allowed them to touch her.

Besides that, her family employed a renowned Western doctor. She was skeptical about whether acupuncture alone could effectively stop the bleeding and heal her injuries.

After contemplating her options, she politely refused. “Thank you for your kindness, but please take me to the hospital first. I think I can still manage.”

Charlie frowned, fully aware of her reasoning.

Loreen likely thought her injuries weren’t severe enough to warrant urgent attention, which is why she preferred to head to the hospital first.

What she didn’t realize was that the only reason she felt stable was that he had discreetly infused her with a small amount of reiki while he held her.

Without that, she would have succumbed to blood loss long ago.

When Charlie fell silent, Loreen began to believe her injuries weren’t as grave as she thought, prompting her to attempt to rise.

But the moment she moved, her wound tore open and a surge of warm blood spilled forth.

Loreen’s strength left her and she slumped back to the ground, dizzy and pale.

Charlie frowned and said, “I warned you that if you moved again, this leg would likely be irreparable. Even if you make it to the hospital, they may not be able to help you. Plus, considering your blood loss, you could very well die from shock before an ambulance arrives. The choice is yours, treat it now or not.”

The Amazing Son In Law Chapter 71

Loreen covered her legs and noticed blood seeping from her fingers, confirming that Charlie had spoken the truth.

However, she felt uncomfortable about taking off her pants in front of a stranger.

Faced with a life-or-death situation, Loreen hesitated for what felt like an eternity before finally yielding. She feared for her life and dreaded becoming disabled.

Her face flushed with embarrassment as she glanced at Charlie, her heart racing and a sense of unease washed over her entirely.

Finally, she murmured, “I understand. Thank you.”

Charlie nodded, crouched down, gripped her pants firmly and tore them apart.

Loreen gasped for breath as her cheeks burned with heat. Her heart raced and she averted her gaze, unable to look at Charlie.

Charlie remained calm, focusing on the knife wound on her left leg. He aligned his index and middle fingers and applied pressure to the acupuncture points.

A stream of energy flowed from his fingers into the wound.

His gaze remained fixed on the injury, ignoring everything else. He worked quickly and after several precise taps, the bleeding gradually ceased.

According to the medical techniques detailed in the Apocalyptic Book, Charlie could have completely healed Loreen, repairing her tendons and veins and even closing the wound instantly, but he chose not to overwhelm her with such abilities.

Instead, he used his fingers like needles to stop the bleeding and halted once her tendons stabilized. The remaining flesh wounds would only require bandaging at the hospital, allowing her to heal naturally afterward.

Loreen’s heart raced as she felt the pain lessen and the bleeding stop after Charlie’s gentle touches. She was utterly amazed.

To think that the traditional Chinese medicine her family dismissed as ineffective was far superior to Western medicine!

“Alright,” Charlie said calmly, standing up without glancing at her and said “Now you can try to stand.”

Loreen attempted to rise and to her astonishment, the bleeding had indeed stopped. Her joy and surprise mingled.

With a flushed face, she shyly said, “Since you prefer not to reveal your name, at least allow me to thank you properly?”

“There’s no need.” Charlie replied curtly, wanting to keep his identity hidden.

“You saved my life. If I can’t even express my gratitude, I would feel ashamed for the rest of my life.”

Loreen insisted, then removed a necklace from around her neck. “This is a gift from my grandfather for my coming-of-age ceremony. Since you saved my life, I want you to have it.”

She held out a platinum chain with a sparkling pink diamond set in the pendant.

Charlie contemplated refusing but sensed a faint energy radiating from the pink diamond. Changing his mind, he accepted it.

He nodded, removed his coat and wrapped it around her waist. “I’m sorry for tearing your pants. You can use my coat to cover yourself. I called the nearby hospital’s emergency number, an ambulance will arrive in a few minutes. You’re safe now, but I have to leave.”

With that, Charlie turned and walked away without looking back, vanishing into the dense sorghum field.

“Hey, wait a minute…” Loreen called out, but Charlie had already disappeared from sight.

Just then, the distant sound of an ambulance echoed through the park. She looked down at the coat enveloping her lower body and then in the direction Charlie had gone, feeling a profound sense of loss.

In an instant, she recognized the familiarity of his departing figure.

Loreen thought for a moment and suddenly remembered that this silhouette was identical to the chairman! Could he be the chairman of Emgrand Group? A spark ignited in her heart.

Yet she hadn’t asked his name, nor had she seen his face. Was her guess even correct?

At that moment, Loreen spotted a grayish-white pebble lying where Charlie had just crouched, with the words “peace and wealth” inscribed on it.

He must have dropped this by accident.

Feeling as though she had stumbled upon a treasure, she clutched the stone tightly.

If she never saw him again, this stone would serve as the only keepsake he left behind.

Once Loreen was taken to the hospital by ambulance, doctors diagnosed her with minor injuries.

The physician who treated her was unaware of Charlie’s earlier intervention and was amazed by her condition.

Given the knife wound on her leg, he had expected at least some severe tendon damage, but her skin wounds were superficial, with her tendons intact and seemingly reinforced.

The doctor remarked, “Your injury should heal completely after a few days of rest. To be honest, this is remarkable. Did you receive any special treatment?”

While Loreen’s thoughts wandered to the mysterious man, she replied, “I didn’t do anything special.”

The doctor was impressed. “That’s incredible!”

He continued, “By the way, I have notified the police. They will arrive shortly and you can tell them about your attack at that time.”

Loreen nodded in acknowledgment.

The police arrived quickly, taking the situation seriously since someone had been stabbed in a downtown area, especially as the victim was a senior executive of Emgrand Group.

Among the officers, some were familiar with the Wilson family and recognized that she was a guest there, prompting them to inform the family.

Meanwhile, the Wilson family villa was strategizing their response.

Harold informed them that Loreen was in trouble but withheld the part he played in the incident. Lady Wilson viewed this as a prime opportunity for the family to shine. They had to find Loreen, rescue her and help Harold win her heart through this dramatic act.

As the news broke that she was in the hospital, Lady Wilson expressed her disappointment, sighing, “It would have been ideal if Harold could use this chance to be the hero who saves the girl!”

Immediately, she declared, “Let’s head to the hospital!”

Harold felt nervous but reluctantly followed his family to the hospital.

During the trip, Harold formulated a story, uncertain if Loreen would believe him.

When they arrived at the hospital and he saw Loreen, his face filled with surprise as he rushed over, “Loreen, are you okay? I was just about to call my dad and mobilize a rescue!”

“Rescue me?” Loreen’s expression turned cold, tinged with sarcasm as she replied softly, “You nearly got me killed!”

Harold quickly defended himself, “Loreen, don’t misunderstand. I was trying to draw their attention since they were looking for me, not you. I thought they wouldn’t harm you.”

Loreen scoffed dismissively and had lost all desire to argue with him, having seen through his facade completely. She only wanted to distance herself from him.

Noticing her indifference, Harold assumed she accepted his explanation. He scanned her, seeing that she was wrapped in a man’s coat, and frowned, “Loreen, where are your pants? Did they do anything to you?”

Loreen felt disgust wash over her and coldly replied, “That’s none of your business!”

Lady Wilson, keenly observant, turned to Loreen and asked, “Loreen, if you have anything to share, you can confide in your grandma. Those people didn’t harm you in any way, right?”

With a deadpan expression, Loreen replied, “They stabbed me, but thankfully, a young man passing by saved me. He treated my leg injury and when my pants were ruined, he offered me his coat. What’s the problem?”

“Young man?” Lady Wilson was visibly startled.

A young man saved Loreen; this was troubling! What if she developed feelings for him, leaving her precious grandson Harold with no chance?

At that moment, Harold interjected in jealousy, “Loreen, how did he treat you? Did he remove your pants to help you?”

Loreen sneered sarcastically, “What does it have to do with you?”

The Amazing Son In Law Chapter 87

The Amazing Son In Law Chapter 87

Jack Yaleman was losing his mind! He was a well-respected figure both locally and internationally, yet he was so arrogant that he continually sabotaged his own presentation, which was infuriating!

To make matters worse, he dared to insult Charlie!

This was an invitation for disaster!

Everyone around was taken aback!

Where did this audacious kid come from? How could he have the guts to insult Mr. Yaleman? Was he tired of living? Mr. Yaleman was a Feng Shui Master and there were countless subtle ways to make him pay without raising a finger!

Despite his fury, Mr. Yaleman maintained a facade of composure in an attempt to acquire the giant clam at a bargain price. With a smile, he said, “My friend, there seems to have been a misunderstanding between us earlier. It’s just a minor issue. If you’re bidding against me out of vengeance, don’t you think that’s beneath you?”

Originally, Mr. Yaleman intended to secure the giant clam for 15 million, but if he fought Charlie head-on, the next bid would likely exceed 30 million.

He wanted to avoid overspending!

So, he bit back his anger, hoping Charlie would retract his offer.

Once Mr. Yaleman had won the clam for 15 million, he could take his time settling scores later on!

Charlie had already seen through his intentions and replied disdainfully, “Quit the nonsense. I want that giant clam too. If you can afford to pay for it, go ahead. If not, why don’t you just leave?”

The atmosphere erupted again!

Incredible!

This guy actually dared to challenge Mr. Yaleman…

Wasn’t he just a tad too bold?

Mr. Yaleman’s expression darkened, yet he pressed on, “I truly desire this giant clam. Would you consider giving me a break here?”

Charlie glanced at him and replied coolly, “Give you a break? Do I even know you?”

Then he added, “Come on, just be honest. Can you afford the price?”

Mr. Yaleman’s expression twisted in anger. No one had ever spoken to him that way!

And the bravado was coming from someone who looked to be about 20, younger than his own disciples!

In a fit of rage, Mr. Yaleman let go of his pretenses and shot back coldly, “I can’t believe my face has been so disrespected! Fine, since this is a fair competition, let the highest bidder win! I’m curious to see how much money you really have to go up against me for this giant clam!”

With that, he raised his voice and declared, “I’ll bid 50 million!!”

The loud announcement sent a wave of commotion through the audience!

The auction had turned into a fierce contest and the tension in the room escalated quickly!

The rules were simple! The one with the most money wins!

Mr. Yaleman was playing it straightforward. He figured that if he continued a game of increments with Charlie, it could drag on indefinitely. So, he aimed low, hoping to scare Charlie away. If he threw out a 50 million bid, surely Charlie wouldn’t dare to follow.

But to everyone’s astonishment, Charlie remained unfazed and calmly stated, “One hundred million!”

The price had just doubled!

The excitement in the venue reached a fever pitch!

In mere minutes, the price of the clam had skyrocketed tenfold, setting a record for auction history!

Adam couldn’t help but shout, “Charlie, stop pretending! Do you really have that kind of money?”

Charlie chuckled and replied, “I genuinely do. What’s the matter? Can’t handle it? Let me clue you in the card I’m using is from your Quinton family. Your father gave it to me personally. Surprised, aren’t you?”

“You! You!” Adam spluttered, his face flushed with rage. “You’re a scoundrel for using my family’s money! I promise you, I will tear you apart for this!”

Mr. Yaleman turned to Adam and inquired, “Adam, do you know this individual?”

Adam scoffed, “He’s a son-in-law of the Wilson family, unemployed, living off his wife. He’s only made a bit of money lately by flattering my second uncle…”

“Is that so?” Mr. Yaleman raised an eyebrow, as if he had just relieved his anxiety and sneered.

“You’re just bluffing, young man. I advise you not to get too cocky, or you may regret it. It’s not that I look down on you, but can you genuinely afford a hundred million?”

Charlie’s expression turned rigid as he replied, “Worry about whether I can afford it or not. If you have the guts, keep bidding if you lack the courage, then be quiet!”

Mr. Yaleman could no longer hold back and cursed, “Kid! You’re courting disaster!”

Charlie laughed, “Am I courting disaster? You, the one who can’t even buy anything and yet talks about killing me? Hahaha, you’re truly foolish!”

Mr. Yaleman, repeatedly mocked by Charlie, could no longer maintain his composure. His gloomy voice trembled as he admonished, “Young man, you better stop! Hand over the clam peacefully, or you’ll pay the price!”

At those words, Charlie’s expression shifted. It was clear that this was a veiled threat from the Treasure Pavilion!

His face grew pale with anger, but he dared not defy Mr. Yaleman. He was clearly unsettled.

Charlie smiled lightly and replied, “If you want my life, you’ll have to wait until the auction ends, right? It hasn’t concluded yet. I just bid 100 million, so let’s see what you do next!”

Jasmine was wide-eyed with astonishment. Mr. Yaleman was not an ordinary figure. Even the Moore family couldn’t ensure they could handle him. So what was Charlie thinking by provoking Mr. Yaleman like this? Where did he get such confidence?

Jacob slumped on the sofa, clutching his heart in shock and gasping, thinking, “It’s over, it’s all over now. My son-in-law is done for and so is my family.”

Mr. Yaleman’s expression tightened. Charlie was not taking him seriously. His words slapped him in the face! But Charlie was right, this was an auction. To win the giant clam, one had to keep bidding.

However, one hundred million…

Who on earth could pay that much?

All eyes were on Mr. Yaleman, eager to see how he would respond.

Mr. Yaleman’s face paled, but for the sake of the giant clam, he stifled his rage and spoke to Charlie with forced humility,

“My friend, if I offended you earlier, it was unintentional. Please forgive me.”

“But I truly need this giant clam. I would appreciate your kindness and would owe you a favor. My favor holds more value than the clam!”

There was a cold glint in his eyes. This young man had humiliated him to the core. As soon as this was over, he had to find a way to end Charlie!

Charlie replied flatly, “Sorry, but this clam is also useful to me, so I can’t let you have it!”

“Besides, I’ve said it before, you’re just a petty bully to me and your favor means nothing!”

Mr. Yaleman was at the end of his rope!

One thought consumed him: wait until the auction was done and find a way to take Charlie’s life!

He had to eliminate him!!!

Witnessing Mr. Yaleman’s frustration, the onlookers couldn’t help but gasp. They were stunned by how this young man had held his ground, even reducing Mr. Yaleman to a defeated opponent!

With the final thump of the auctioneer’s gavel, Charlie successfully purchased the giant clam for 100 million.

Mr. Yaleman was furious. He glared at Charlie with hatred, his face pale, before storming off.

He wanted to eliminate Charlie immediately, but the current situation didn’t allow for it, he would have to bide his time.

Jasmine watched Mr. Yaleman leave and cautioned Charlie, “He’s not an ordinary individual. I have a feeling he won’t just let this go and will definitely come after you. Be careful in the coming days.”

Charlie smiled and replied, “I doubt he’ll dare to show up!”

The Amazing Son In Law Chapter 79

The Amazing Son In Law Chapter 79

Harold launched his attack swiftly, but Charlie easily evaded it.

In a quick motion, Charlie backhanded Harold’s wrist, giving it a gentle shake as he sneered, “What’s the matter? Is the injury on your hand fully healed? Have you forgotten the pain that lingers even after the scar has formed?”

Suddenly, Harold was struck by a powerful force, causing him to stumble back a couple of steps, filled with a mix of anger and surprise.

This kid has quite a bit of strength!

Realizing he was no match for Charlie, Harold coldly spat, “You loser, just wait. I’ll have the manager kick you out right now!”

With that, Harold turned to shout at the manager standing nearby.

Before long, a middle-aged man in a suit and dress shoes hurried over, flanked by two security guards.

The man grinned widely at Harold, saying, “Mr. Wilson, how can I assist you?”

“Manager, please check their invitation cards.” Harold pointed disdainfully at Charlie. “I suspect their invitations are fraudulent.”

To maintain the privacy of the guests, the invitations were not personalized with names, they only contained a string of passwords. Entering that password into a mobile app would reveal the names of the invitees.

Seeing that Harold was dressed lavishly, the manager recognized him as part of a respectable family. In contrast, Charlie’s ordinary attire led the manager to smirk at him, saying, “If you could kindly show me your invitation letter, I’ll verify it.”

Although he maintained a polite tone, the manager’s eyes were laced with disdain, as Charlie’s appearance didn’t suggest he belonged among distinguished guests at the Treasure Pavilion.

Charlie noticed the contempt in the manager’s gaze, and a surge of anger rose within him as he coldly replied, “What if I refuse?”

The manager cleared his throat, his expression hardening as he pressed on, “Then may I ask which family in Aurous Hill City you belong to?”

Before Charlie could respond, Harold interjected, “He’s from our Wilson family no, actually, he’s just a son-in-law of the Wilson family. To be honest, he doesn’t even deserve to be called a member. He’s simply our pet!”

The mention of “son-in-law” gave the manager quite a bit to think about. How could anyone of stature in Aurous Hill City be reduced to a son-in-law?

The manager’s expression soured as he demanded, “So tell me, how did you gain entry?”

Frankly fed up with their scrutiny, Charlie felt disappointed with the way Treasure Pavilion categorized its guests. He replied curtly, “I just walked in.”

Recognizing Charlie’s low status, the manager ceased his inquiries and said coldly, “If you don’t comply and show me the invitation letter for verification, I’m afraid I’ll have to ask you to leave.”

With that, he waved his hand and two security guards moved in, surrounding Charlie with threatening glares.

Jacob, witnessing this unfold, started to feel anxious.

Worried that their invitation might be faulty, he quickly urged Charlie, “Charlie, I think we should just let this go and head back.”

Surprised, Charlie frowned and asked, “Dad, don’t you want to see the auction?”

Jacob shook his head resolutely. “No, this isn’t the place for us. If we get thrown out, it’ll be utterly humiliating…”

Seeing his father-in-law had made up his mind, Charlie bit his tongue and nodded, following Jacob out.

After all, it was just an auction, and he didn’t really care about it. Since his father-in-law didn’t want to remain, there was no point in entangling himself with these people.

As for Jasmine, if she asked, he would simply say that he feared he couldn’t hold his own in the Moore family’s presence!

With that, he turned and left with Jacob.

Behind them, Harold erupted in laughter, “Hahaha, two losers, are you scared? Feeling guilty, are you? Sneaking into the Moore family’s auction, what a death wish!”

Charlie ignored him as he exited.

At that moment, the crowd suddenly erupted in commotion.

They parted to form a pathway as a man and woman entered the venue.

The woman, dressed in a black evening gown, possessed a stunning beauty and a graceful figure.

Under the bright lights, she looked magnificent and dignified, even her mannerisms radiated elegance.

Harold was momentarily dumbstruck by her beauty.

As Jasmine Moore entered, her eyes scanned the area, and upon noticing the two vacant seats in the front VIP section, she inquired, “Haven’t the two VIP guests I invited arrived yet?”

Finn Baxendale glanced at the guest list, furrowing his brow. “Miss Moore, our records indicate that these two guests invitations have been verified, so they must be at the auction. Beyond that, I’m not sure where they could be.”

He then instructed a nearby assistant, “Go and fetch the manager.”

Moments later, the manager arrived and asked, “Mr. Baxendale, how may I assist you?”

Finn Baxendale gestured toward the empty seats in the VIP area and asked, “Two guests invitations have been verified, why aren’t they in their seats?”

“Two guests?” The manager suddenly recalled the elderly man and the young man he had just expelled.

Could it be…

No, it shouldn’t be…

Why would verified VIPs refuse to let him check their invitations?

Is this going to end badly?

Noticing the manager’s panicked demeanor, Finn glanced at the security guard beside him and said, “You tell me what happened.”

The security guard, unwilling to withhold information, relayed the events that had just transpired.

After hearing the account, Jasmine frowned and exchanged a glance with Finn. “Baxendale, I’ll go find Mr. Wade first. You handle this situation and I hope you can resolve it satisfactorily.”

Finn Baxendale nodded vigorously, watching Jasmine leave with a grim expression as he turned his ire toward the manager. “Are you tired of living? How dare you offend guests personally invited by Miss Moore?”

The manager’s legs buckled and he knelt before them, pointing a trembling finger at Harold as he pleaded, “Master, I didn’t mean to! It was this jerk’s doing!”

Baxendale reacted by delivering a hard kick to the manager’s face, sending him sprawling to the ground, as he cursed, “If you continue to look down on others, then get out of here immediately! Don’t ever let me see you again! Moreover, for every loss caused today, you will compensate according to your employment contract. If it’s insufficient, I promise you’ll pay dearly!”

“Mr. Baxendale… have mercy…” The manager was terrified. The losses were substantial. If he truly had to compensate, he wouldn’t be able to afford it even if he sold all his assets.

“The lawyer will inform you of the compensation amount.” Finn stated coldly.

Dizzy with fear, the manager knelt and knocked his head apologetically against the ground.

Baxendale kicked him away in disgust, gesturing to the security guards and whispering, “Take him out and break his legs! Let him see nothing again!”

Having navigated the business world for years, Baxendale was no angel. Though he couldn’t visibly show his anger in front of everyone, he had no intention of letting this incident slide quietly behind the scenes!

“Mr. Baxendale, I recognize my mistakes, please forgive me…” The manager begged, shaken with fright.

Two security guards lunged forward and grabbed his arms, dragging him away.

Baxendale then turned his focus back to Harold, commanding those around him, “Bring that Harold to me!”

At this moment, Harold basked in his own arrogance. The happiness he felt at the thought of meeting the master of the Treasure Pavilion only heightened his spirits.

Everyone knew that the master of Treasure Pavilion had a powerful background. If he could earn favor and gain proximity to him, a world of opportunities would open up!

Standing before Finn Baxendale, Harold began to flatter him, “Hey, Mr. Baxendale, it’s an honor to finally meet you! I’ve long heard of your great reputation. Meeting you today, it’s clear you truly are a rare talent and your renown is well-deserved!”

Baxendale gritted his teeth and kicked Harold away forcefully, baring his teeth in a snarl, “You’re audacious, Harold! You dare to offend guests who were invited by Miss Moore? I think you truly are asking to endanger your own life!”

The Amazing Son In Law Chapter 67

The Amazing Son In Law Chapter 67

Charlie heard footsteps approaching from behind and glanced at the nearby glass, quickly realizing it was Loreen following him!

This is not good! If Loreen spots him here, she will undoubtedly identify him as the chairman of Emgrand Group! She might even assume he’s the Young Master of the Wade family! This could spell trouble!

Seeing Loreen closing in, he hastily quickened his pace, slipped into the chairman’s office, and locked the door behind him.

Loreen hadn’t anticipated that he would abruptly speed up and by the time she reacted and tried to chase after him, he had already entered the office.

Watching Charlie enter the office, disappointment washed over Loreen as she muttered to herself, “How strange why does the chairman seem to be deliberately avoiding me…”

Despite this, she didn’t give up and approached the door, knocking gently. “Hello, Chairman, this is the new executive director, Loreen. I have something to report to you.”

Charlie intentionally lowered his voice and replied, “Have you reported to Doris Young? The company has regulations against bypassing the reporting levels. Aren’t you aware of that?”

“Sorry, Chairman, I forgot…”

Loreen, feeling scared and nervous, thought to herself, “This Chairman is quite intimidating… Is he angry about my bypassing the reporting level, or does he simply not want to see me?”

Nevertheless, she dared not linger at Charlie’s office door and reluctantly decided to leave.

Charlie finally exhaled in relief as he heard Loreen’s footsteps fade away.

That was a close call! She almost recognized him.

Considering he would have to visit Emgrand Group frequently, especially with Loreen now in the position of executive director and her office on the same floor as his, the chances of running into her became alarmingly high.

At that moment, Doris Young walked in to report to him.

Charlie instructed her, “Doris, I need you to handle something for me.”

Doris Young nodded, “Of course, Young Master. What is it?”

Charlie replied, “Please help me reassign Loreen to a different position.”

He then inquired, “In our company, which roles do not require being in the office constantly?”

“Sales and business positions,” Doris Young answered. “Those roles often involve going out for business meetings and are typically not in the office.”

“Alright,” Charlie said, nodding. “Then transfer her to the role of sales director.”

“Absolutely, I’ll start arranging that when I get back,” Doris Young agreed.

After that, she provided Charlie with updates on the company’s recent developments.

Currently, the new six-star hotel project of Emgrand Group is underway at the foot of Discana Hill, featuring stunning scenery and an elegant atmosphere.

Once completed, this hotel will become Aurous Hill’s first six-star hotel, showcasing extreme luxury.

The hotel-related business is progressing smoothly, with an expected completion within two years and operational by two and a half years. By then, Emgrand Group’s revenue potential will significantly increase.

Charlie instructed her, “If my wife performs well and has the time, please assign her more business opportunities from Emgrand Group.”

Doris Young promptly replied, “Young Master, don’t worry I will do just that!”

Noticing his wife was nearing the end of her meeting, Charlie told Doris Young, “Please call Loreen to your office now. This will give me a chance to slip away.”

Doris Young nodded quickly, returned to her office and summoned Loreen.

When Loreen heard that Doris Young wanted to speak with her, she promptly made her way to the office.

Meanwhile, Charlie hurried downstairs.

As soon as he reached the ground floor, he spotted Claire walking out, looking exhausted.

Claire appeared worn out from her work commitments and said, “There’s so much on my plate right now I can’t handle it all.”

Charlie responded with concern, “Do you want to delegate some of the work? Or just take a break?”

“That won’t work,” Claire replied. “I’ve only recently taken up the director position and my foundation is still shaky. I need to put in extra effort otherwise, my cousin will surely take advantage.”

Thinking of Harold made Claire feel frustrated. He was particularly bothersome, always opposing her and engaging in schemes that served his interests at her expense.

On their drive back, Claire closed her eyes for a moment to rest while Charlie focused on driving, respecting her silence.

At that moment, in Doris Young’s office, she was discussing the new appointment with Loreen.

Loreen was somewhat surprised. It hadn’t been long since she accepted the executive director role and now she was being transferred to sales. Why was that?

Doris Young explained, “I believe you have exceptional capabilities. It would truly be a waste to confine you to administrative work. I reviewed your resume, you studied business management and marketing in college. The sales role is far more suited for you and it’s also a critical position for the company. If you excel in this role, great opportunities await!”

Doris Young did not mince words.

Sales roles are significantly more valuable than administrative positions.

Sales is the department that drives the company’s revenue.

Administration merely handles the day-to-day operations of the company.

Loreen didn’t dwell on it too much but thought that if she performed well in sales and generated actual profits for the company, the chairman would likely take more notice of her in the future!

So, this could be a positive development for her!

Leaving Doris Young’s office with excitement, the first thing Loreen did was call her good friend Claire.

As soon as the call connected, she exclaimed, “Claire, I’ve been appointed as the sales director!”

“Really?” Claire replied, excitement evident in her voice. “That’s fantastic! You’re a natural in sales it’s a waste to have you in administration! Now, you’ll have greater opportunities and I’m sure you’ll achieve great things soon!”

“Hehe!” Loreen laughed, feeling joyful and suggested, “Why don’t we celebrate with dinner tonight? You can invite Charlie too!”

Claire responded somewhat hesitantly, “We’re both almost home now. To be honest, I’m quite worn out today. Let’s plan to celebrate another day?”

Understanding that Claire had been swamped recently, Loreen quickly replied, “You’ve been so busy lately, working late and attending numerous meetings. How about you take a good rest today and we can get together after you’re free?”

“Okay,” Claire agreed. “Once I finish this, let’s go out and have some fun together!”

Loreen smiled and said, “It’s a deal!”

After hanging up the phone, a wave of disappointment washed over Loreen. She didn’t have many close friends in Aurous Hill and Claire was her only true companion.

Now that she’d been promoted to sales director, the opportunities to shine were greater, yet she couldn’t find anyone to celebrate with her.

Just as she was feeling down, her cell phone rang unexpectedly.

The caller was none other than Harold!
