The Amazing Son In Law Chapter 51

The Amazing Son In Law Chapter 51

Raymond was taken aback! He never imagined that the bottle repaired by the egg would turn out to be an even more valuable treasure! He quickly pointed to Charlie and said, “Miss, this gentleman is the one who repaired it…”

Jasmine looked at Charlie, puzzled. He seemed too young to possess knowledge of such a rare cultural relic restoration technique.

With a slight smile, Jasmine asked politely, “I am Jasmine from the Moore family. May I know your name and from which master you learned this craft?”

Jacob, the scared father-in-law, was left speechless upon hearing Jasmine’s name!

The Moore family!

The Moore family is the leading family in Aurous Hill! Although they may not match the super families in Eastcliff in strength, they are indeed a giant that no one in Aurous Hill can compete with!

He certainly didn’t expect to meet the eldest daughter of the Moore family here!

Meanwhile, Charlie had no idea about Jasmine’s identity. Although the Moore family was significant, it was merely a family possessing hundreds of billions in assets. Compared to the Wade family, which boasted trillions, it was quite a difference. So he replied casually, “My name is Charlie, but I don’t have a Master.”

Then Charlie added, “My father-in-law damaged your Jade Spring Vase. I’ve repaired it. Please assess its value to see if any compensation is necessary.”

Jasmine shook her head with a smile, “Since you repaired it, this bottle now holds far greater value than before. Technically, it should be us at Vintage Deluxe who owe you.”

Charlie smiled slightly, “No need to be overly polite. Since everything is resolved, my father-in-law and I should be on our way.”

Jasmine’s eyes brightened as she said with a smile, “Sir, may I know your full name? Could you provide a contact number for future communication?”

As she spoke, Jasmine pulled out her business card and handed it to him, saying, “Sir, here is my business card. Please accept it.”

Charlie nodded, took the card and replied, “My full name is Charlie Wade, but I don’t have a business card.”

“That’s alright.” Jasmine said “Could Mr. Wade share a phone number with me?”

Charlie thought that it would be beneficial to meet new people and Jasmine seemed polite and humble certainly not overbearing. She was quite pleasant to be around.

Thus, he exchanged phone numbers with Jasmine.

Jasmine then asked, “Mr. Wade, would you like me to arrange a car to take you two home?”

Charlie waved his hand and said, “No need, I drove here.”

Jasmine nodded and said, “Then I’ll walk you both out!”

With that, Jasmine escorted them to the BMW 530, watched as Charlie drove away and then slowly returned to Vintage Deluxe.

On the way back, Charlie’s father-in-law couldn’t help but ask him, “Charlie, where did you learn the skill of restoring cultural relics?”

Charlie couldn’t mention that he had discovered a magical “Apocalyptic Book” inside the broken bottle. After all, the book was extraordinary and there was so much content to process that he needed time to digest it. Besides, this was something he couldn’t share with anyone. So he casually replied, “I learned from a janitor at the orphanage.”

His father-in-law nodded appreciatively, sighing, “Thank goodness! If you hadn’t had this ability, I would have had to face some serious consequences…”

He then quickly warned, “By the way! Don’t mention this to your mother or Claire, alright?”

Charlie nodded, “I understand, Dad.”

The father-in-law felt relieved, rubbing his face in frustration and muttering, “If I had known you had this talent, I wouldn’t have run around like a fool. Not only did I exhaust myself, but I also ended up being slapped a few times. What bad luck!”

He then turned to Charlie, “Can you still see the mark on my face?”

Charlie replied, “It’s still a little red.”

The father-in-law grunted, “If your mother asks about it when we get home, just say I accidentally bumped into an electric pole.”

After returning home, Charlie busied himself by heading to the vegetable market to buy ingredients and prepare dinner.

He called his wife, Claire, asking what she’d like to eat, only to find out that she would be discussing a construction plan with Doris Young that evening, during which Doris would treat her to dinner at the Emgrand Group.

Shortly after, Doris Young texted him, saying, “Young Master, construction for the Young miss is about to commence, so she may be quite busy. Please don’t take it personally.”

Charlie, being reasonable, understood the importance of work, so he replied, “The company should provide good meals, please don’t let her settle for boxed lunches.”

Doris Young quickly assured him, “Don’t worry, I’ll arrange for the company’s executive restaurant to prepare the finest dinner for the young lady.”

“That sounds excellent.”

Since his wife wouldn’t be home for dinner, Charlie didn’t dwell on it too much. He bought some ingredients and returned home to cook a simple meal for his father-in-law and mother-in-law.

After dinner, the elderly couple went out to dance at a square.

Charlie was left alone at home, still contemplating the mysterious contents of the “Apocalyptic Book.”

At that moment, he suddenly received a call from Douglas Adams.

Charlie was reluctant to answer the call. He felt that this kid was becoming a bit obsessed. After Charlie had kindly warned him, Douglas had turned hostile, which left Charlie feeling a bit upset.

However, thinking about how pitiable Douglas was, Charlie decided to answer the phone, asking, “What’s the matter?”

On the other end, Douglas sobbed uncontrollably, “Charlie, my good brother, I’m so sorry! I totally misjudged you!”

Hearing him cry so hard made Charlie feel sympathy, prompting him to ask, “Do you know the truth now?”

Douglas continued to cry, “After you told me, the more I thought about it, the more I realized something was off. I tracked her iPhone to a villa in a gated community. When I knocked on the door to catch them in the act, I was beaten up by the man, his driver and the housekeeper and then I was taken to the hospital by an ambulance…”

Douglas broke down further, pleading, “Charlie, I was blind and wronged you. Please don’t stay mad at me. You’re my only true friend! If you turn against me, I’ll be left with nothing in Aurous Hill…”

Charlie sighed, saying, “I don’t blame you. Which hospital are you in now?”

“I’m at the Silverwing Hospital.” Douglas replied. “They broke my leg with a baseball bat. The doctor said I won’t be able to get out of bed for a while. I had the painting you gave me when I attempted to catch the cheaters. Could you help me pawn it to the pawnshop? I’ve spent all my money eating out and now I’m broke and unable to pay for my treatment…”

Upon hearing this, Charlie quickly asked, “Did the people who hurt you not cover your medical expenses?”

“No…” Replied Douglas.

“Did you report them to the police?” Charlie inquired.

Douglas answered “It was useless. The police said I broke into a private residence and that they acted in self-defense…”

“How unreasonable!” Charlie exclaimed in anger. “Just wait, I’ll be there shortly!”

The Amazing Son In Law Chapter 68

The Amazing Son In Law Chapter 68

Seeing that it was Harold calling, Loreen hesitated to answer. She did not hold a favorable opinion of Harold, recognizing that his intentions were purely to get closer to her and gain her attention.

However, lacking any interest in him, she ended the call immediately.

But Harold persisted and after several attempts, Loreen reluctantly answered the phone and asked coldly, “Harold, what do you want?”

Harold quickly replied, “Loreen, I heard you’ve been promoted to sales director!”

Loreen responded in surprise, “How did you find out?”

Harold smiled and explained, “I have a few friends working at Emgrand Group. They mentioned a new appointment had been issued by the company.”

“Yes.” Loreen confirmed. “I was indeed transferred to sales director.”

“Congratulations!” Harold exclaimed excitedly. “This position holds real power there’s so much to do! You’re quite fortunate!”

“Thank you,” Loreen replied coolly.

Harold continued, “Loreen, seeing as you’ve been in Aurous Hill for a while now and considering the unpleasant incident at Heaven Springs, I’d like to invite you to dinner as an apology. It’s a special occasion with your promotion and we should celebrate. What do you say?”

Loreen replied politely, “But I may have to work late tonight…”

Harold insisted, “Loreen, happy occasions deserve timely celebration otherwise, the joy fades away. You don’t have many friends in Aurous Hill. It would be better for us to celebrate quietly, just the two of us. What do you think?”

Loreen felt a flicker of interest.

To be honest, she wanted to celebrate but couldn’t think of anyone else to invite, especially since Claire was unavailable.

With Harold reaching out, it seemed like a viable option.

Although Harold seemed a bit insincere, she figured it was better to celebrate with someone than to be alone.

Considering this, Loreen said, “Alright, please send me the address.”

“Great! I’ve reserved a table at Aurous Hill Hotel. Just mention your name when you arrive,” Harold said.

Loreen nodded and replied, “Okay, I’ll be there shortly.”

After leaving the company, Loreen took a taxi to Aurous Hill Hotel.

While it may not rival Heaven Springs, it was still one of the finest hotels in Aurous Hill.

At that moment, Harold, dressed in a suit with slicked-back hair, stood at the entrance, exuding a gentle demeanor as he awaited Loreen.

Unfortunately, the bandage on his hand completely undermined the atmosphere he was trying to create.

Dressed casually in a top and jeans that highlighted her youthful appearance, Loreen drew attention as she stepped out of the car.

Harold, proud of her looks, approached her quickly and said, “Loreen, you look stunning today! Please, come inside; everything is prepared.”

“Thank you,” Loreen replied with a polite smile.

As they sat down, the food arrived promptly.

Harold ordered a bottle of high-end red wine and proclaimed, “Loreen, today is a significant day; you should have some wine to celebrate!”

Loreen quickly responded, “No, let’s skip the wine and have some beverages instead.”

“That can’t be!”

Harold had intended to take advantage of the situation to get her drunk and hopefully seize an opportunity, but Loreen’s immediate refusal disappointed him significantly.

Loreen raised her hand and said, “I’m really not feeling well, Harold. I’d prefer not to drink let’s save it for another time.”

In truth, Loreen suspected Harold’s ulterior motives and had resolved not to drink with him tonight for her own protection.

Seeing he couldn’t change her mind, Harold felt frustrated but masked it, saying, “If you don’t want to drink, then that’s fine. We can stick to soft drinks.”

Loreen nodded, “Thank you for understanding!”

At that moment, a young man, appearing gentle and refined, sat at the table next to them, gazing intently at Loreen.

Once she had entered, he was captivated by her beauty and presence.

To him, she seemed ethereal, almost like a fairy come to life!

After observing for a bit, he noticed that Loreen and Harold didn’t appear to be a couple, so he decided to seize the opportunity.

A little while later, the young man stood up, approached Loreen and Harold’s table, and said to Loreen, “Excuse me, I was captivated by your beauty as soon as you walked in. Would you allow me to have your contact information?”

Loreen was taken aback. She hadn’t expected anyone to approach her while dining here.

Harold was fuming. Who was this idiot who dared to interrupt? Didn’t he see that he was trying to woo her? Did he have a death wish?

Before Loreen could respond, he coldly interjected, “Who are you? Why are you at our table talking nonsense?”

The young man replied casually, “What does it matter to you if I’m speaking with this lady?”

He then turned to Loreen and continued, “I’ve admired you from afar, but I was afraid to interrupt. I sincerely hope you can forgive me for speaking up.”

Harold was furious!

How dare this man try to take a woman from him?

He growled, “Let me warn you, if you know what’s good for you, leave now! If you keep talking or so much as glance in her direction again, I will make you regret it!”

The young man turned to Loreen, asking, “Is this your boyfriend?”

Loreen shook her head.

The young man faced Harold again and said, “Since you aren’t her boyfriend, then my approaching her has nothing to do with you.”

Harold sneered and replied, “I don’t like the way you’re looking at her, so you can’t look at her at all!”

The young man frowned and countered, “You seem to think highly of yourself?”

Harold chuckled derisively and declared, “Kid, I’m from the Wilson family. If you’re smart, you’ll clear out before you get into trouble!”

Loreen felt deep disdain.

For one, she found the young man’s boldness off-putting.

And secondly, she was irritated by Harold’s arrogant attitude.

Then the young man’s face shifted suddenly, eyeing Harold coldly as he said, “What is the Wilson family? Who are you really? I suggest you stop pretending to be impressive otherwise, you’ll find yourself regretting it!”

Anger boiled within Harold.

Who dared to challenge his authority like this?

Having already lost face once by inviting Loreen to dinner, he couldn’t let it happen again. If he failed to deal with this insolence, his chances with her would dwindle.

Determined, he grabbed the wine bottle from the table and shouted, “What are you babbling about? You’re asking for it!”

With that, he swung the bottle at the young man’s head!

With a loud crack, the young man went down, blood streaming from the impact!

The Amazing Son In Law Chapter 58

The Amazing Son In Law Chapter 58

“Of course! Just let me know!”

Uncle Quilt sneered, remarking, “I want to see how you charlatans typically deceive people.”

Charlie shrugged and replied, “I didn’t intend to expose your scam, but you kept pressing me. I couldn’t just turn you down.”

“Scam? Are you implying we’ve all been misled?”

Matthew Gibson, usually composed, suddenly let out a sneer.

Charlie gave him a glance and retorted, “You’re the biggest fool here…”

“Kid, you’re asking for trouble!” Matthew Gibson shouted, furious.

Charlie ignored him and stated, “The jade is genuine. You deceivers should have some conscience. However, this jade is not the blood-thread jade of the Zhou Dynasty, nor has it ever been kept by a high-ranking monk. It’s merely a piece of top-grade yellow jade from Hotan. Its quality is decent and it holds some value, but the market price is only about 500,000 at most.”

“That’s nonsense! Can’t you see the red color of the jade?” Uncle Quilt cursed.

Charlie replied, “The red hue comes from the corrosion of manganese ore containing submanganate. Do you really think it’s been soaked in a monk’s blood?”

“What about the warm sensation we’re experiencing?” Graham asked anxiously, his brow furrowed.

Charlie shook his head. “That has even less technical value. A powder made from the roots of African grass is dissolved in water. If you soak this piece of jade in that water for about six months, it will naturally develop that effect. It’s not a warm sensation at all, but rather a hallucinogenic effect. Removing it is straightforward just burn the jade.”

“Kid! How dare you speak such arrogant words!” The fat man slapped the table, standing up.

Travis Lane’s expression soured. He glared at the fat man, saying, “You’re suggesting we burn the jade for a bit?”

The fat man, drenched in sweat, stammered, “What do you mean by burning it? He’s clearly pretending to be a fraud. Don’t buy into his nonsense!”

Graham tapped his fingers on the table and said, “If we burn it and the effect remains, I will pay for it. But if the effect disappears, you know the consequences… Even though our Quinton family is facing some challenges lately, we can’t allow anyone to trample on our dignity!”

Jasmine nodded in agreement, adding, “If Mr. Wade is mistaken, it won’t matter if we burn it the jade won’t sustain damage. But if he is correct, you must provide us with an explanation today!”

The fat man was now in a panic. None of these three families were ones he could afford to offend.

The setup was meant to deceive Jasmine out of a substantial amount of money, with Uncle Quilt being his accomplice, after which they would split the profits.

To his surprise, Charlie appeared out of nowhere, unraveling the entire scheme in one sentence!

In truth, Charlie had no prior knowledge of jade. His ability to instantly identify the flaws in this jade stemmed solely from the “Apocalyptic Book.”

Remarkably, just upon seeing the jade, all the answers had materialized in his mind. It seemed that identifying antique jade was a skill he possessed thanks to the “Apocalyptic Book.”

As the fat man remained silent, Charlie sneered, “What’s the matter? Are you feeling guilty? Too afraid to speak?”

The fat man’s face drained of color, but he still refused to clarify whether he was willing to take it further.

Charlie, now angered, stated, “Do you think silence will save you? This is Aurous Hill! Everyone here you’ve deceived is wealthy and influential. With a snap of my fingers, I could ensure you have no place to rest in Aurous Hill! I suggest you be sensible and confess the truth, or no one will be able to save you!”

Jasmine recognized Charlie’s psychological tactic and quickly supported him, saying firmly, “Our Moore family also holds significant stature in Aurous Hill. Anyone daring to con the Moore family will face our wrath. If we let this slide, it would tarnish our family’s reputation!”

The fat man was terrified! He understood the immense status of the Moore family if he angered Jasmine, he could very well face dire consequences in Aurous Hill!

In his panic, he desperately cried out to Uncle Quilt, “Quilt, save me! This is more than just my problem!”

Uncle Quilt’s expression shifted dramatically as he bellowed, “What nonsense are you spouting? You deceived our Moore family and are framing me. I’ll take your life!”

With that, he pulled a dagger from his pocket, a cold gleam in his eyes as he lunged at the fat man.

The fat man, red with fury, shouted, “How dare you turn on me! You told me the Moore family’s appraisal should come from your mouth! As long as you said it was okay, it would definitely sell. You’re the one who has put me in this mess!”

Jasmine shot a cold glance at the two before turning to Charlie, saying, “Mr. Wade, I apologize. Thanks to you today, let’s leave at once. Our family will handle these matters.”

Charlie nodded slightly, replying, “Alright, let’s head back.”

They stood up and prepared to leave.

Seeing Jasmine about to exit, Uncle Quilt was alarmed. He immediately disregarded the notion of silencing the fat man and knelt, pleading, “Miss, please spare my life. For all my years of dedication to the Moore family, please let me off this time…”

Before Jasmine could respond, Travis Lane stood up, sneering, “You old fool are truly seeking your end. You plotted to deceive me and your own master, aiming for two or three hundred million. Do you think the Moore family will spare you?”

Uncle Quilt’s face turned ashen as he crumpled to the ground.

Travis Lane added, “Even if the Moore family spares you, I, Travis Lane, will never show you mercy!”

Uncle Quilt erupted into sobs, utterly defeated.

Seeing this, Jasmine shook her head slightly and said to Charlie, “I’m sorry, Mr. Wade. My Moore family made a mistake. You’ve helped expose this.”

Charlie responded calmly, “There are treacherous individuals everywhere, Miss Moore there’s no need to apologize.”

At that moment, Travis Lane from Lancaster, along with Matthew Gibson and Graham from Aurous Hill’s Quinton family, stepped out.

Upon spotting Charlie, Travis Lane approached, clasping his fists in thanks, “Master Wade, I appreciate your help today otherwise, I would have fallen prey to this deceiver!”

Matthew Gibson, feeling some shame, similarly spoke up, “Master Wade truly is a young hero. I couldn’t even see through their trickery with the jade earlier I am embarrassed!”

Graham also bowed, saying, “Mr. Wade, thanks to you, otherwise the three of us would have been quarreling over a fake. We would have incurred significant losses and been the subject of ridicule!”

Charlie smiled lightly and said, “No need for formalities, everyone. I came at Miss Moore’s invitation to authenticate the items, so this was part of my responsibility.”

After exchanging a few more pleasantries, Charlie got into the car with Jasmine.

Behind them, the yard fell silent.

Yet Charlie noticed that once they departed, several men in black suits hurriedly entered. It seemed Uncle Quilt and the fat man were doomed!

The Amazing Son In Law Chapter 54

The Amazing Son In Law Chapter 54

As soon as he finished speaking, Don Albert stormed in with Bill and a group of brothers.

Upon entering, he immediately commanded Bill, “Seal the door! No one is allowed in!”

Bill nodded instantly, responding, “Understood, Don Albert!”

Zaz stared at Don Albert in astonishment, his mind completely reeling.

Don Albert!

The underground monarch of Aurous Hill City!

While Zaz was just one of the many minor leaders in the area, Don Albert held authority over the local underworld!

Everyone in the criminal world had to pay their respects to Don Albert!

He never anticipated that coming to assist Jerome with a minor issue would actually draw the attention of Don Albert!

Jerome, unfamiliar with Don Albert, turned to Brother Zaz, who looked bewildered. He frowned and asked, “Brother Zaz, what’s happening? Who is this old man?”

Upon hearing this, Brother Zaz trembled in fear.

He grabbed Jerome’s hair and punched him in the face, breaking his nose. Watching the blood flow from his nostrils, Brother Zaz gritted his teeth and scolded, “If you want to die, don’t take me down with you! This is Don Albert!”

“Ah?!” Jerome was instantly terrified!

Don Albert?!

The underground king of Aurous Hill City?!

What is he doing here?!

At that moment, Don Albert approached with a grim expression and kicked Brother Zaz in the groin, causing him to collapse to the ground, writhing in agony and looking pale.

Don Albert glared at him and said coldly, “You dared to offend Mr. Wade—are you tired of living?”

Afterward, Don Albert immediately bowed respectfully to Charlie and said apologetically, “Mr. Wade, I’m late. Please punish me!”

Everyone present was left in shock by Don Albert’s deference toward Charlie.

Jerome suddenly realized the severity of the situation and began to tremble uncontrollably.

Charlie nodded at Don Albert and pointed at Brother Zaz, asking, “Do you recognize this person?”

Don Albert replied, “I know him. He is just a junior who was foolish enough to offend Mr. Wade. If Mr. Wade wants to deal with him in whatever way, Don Albert will comply immediately!”

Charlie nodded in agreement, “He is a very arrogant individual. He tried to cripple me as soon as he entered. A person like him is a menace to society. Let’s make sure he’s permanently confined to a wheelchair.”

Brother Zaz was suddenly filled with terror!

He made his living through fighting, and if he were to actually become a wheelchair-bound cripple, how would he survive in the underworld? His life would be utterly ruined!

He fell to the ground and crawled toward Charlie, pleading, “Mr. Wade, I didn’t recognize who I was dealing with. Please forgive me this time. I will never dare to offend you again!”

Charlie responded coldly, “I gave you a chance, but you didn’t take it.”

Zaz recalled what Charlie had just told him: “Kneel down, and I will spare your life.”

He had thought Charlie was looking for trouble at the time, but now he realized it was not Charlie seeking danger, but himself!

Panicking, he hurriedly bowed down and cried, “Mr. Wade, please give me another chance and spare my life!”

Ignoring him, Charlie turned to Don Albert and asked, “Why aren’t you taking action?”

Don Albert’s expression turned serious as he quickly instructed, “Come on! Crush his kneecap into pieces!”

Immediately, several of his underlings lunged at Brother Zaz, pinning him to the floor.

At that moment, Bill produced an iron rod and strode forward.

Brother Zaz tried to plead for mercy one last time, but Bill raised the rod above his head and brought it crashing down.

With a sickening crack!

Brother Zaz’s right kneecap shattered into pieces!

Such a grievous injury would ensure he was never whole again!

Zaz screamed in agony, but Charlie stated, “That’s not enough; only one leg is broken. He can still use crutches. I want him to be bound to a wheelchair for life!”

Bill nodded sharply, lifted the steel rod, and targeted Brother Zaz’s left knee.

Zaz writhed on the floor in pain, nearly in shock from the agony.

Don Albert instructed Bill, “Put something in his mouth to keep the noise down for Mr. Wade!”

“Okay, Don Albert!”

Then, Bill stuffed gauze into Zaz’s mouth and tossed him down, leaving him curled up like a defeated dog.

Jerome was so terrified that his face turned ghostly pale. He finally understood the kind of person he had angered!

Before Charlie acted, he knelt on the ground, banging his head repeatedly, “Charlie, Mr. Wade, I was mistaken. I shouldn’t have spoken to you so rudely. Please show mercy!”

Lily Lewis, equally shocked, saw Jerome begging for mercy and also kneeled down, desperately apologizing.

Charlie remarked coldly, “You two fools really think I’ll let you off just because you begged? How naive you are!”

The two men trembled uncontrollably.

At that moment, several men in black entered with two tied-up middle-aged individuals who looked battered and on the brink of death.

They threw the two men to the ground and bowed to Charlie, stating, “Mr. Wade, the people you wanted are here!”

Jerome and Lily Lewis nearly fainted from sheer fright!

Lying on the ground were Jerome’s father, Dylan Hunt, and Lily Lewis’s father, Lawson Lewis!

Charlie instructed someone to splash cold water on Dylan Hunt and Lawson Lewis to revive them, then turned to Lawson Lewis, asking, “Mr. Lawson Lewis, are you aware that your daughter is fickle and cheated on her fiance?”

Lawson Lewis was taken aback. Having been beaten beforehand, he understood that his daughter had angered someone powerful. To protect himself, he shook his head vigorously, saying, “I don’t know, I don’t know…”

Charlie nodded and stated, “You claim ignorance, but that negligence reflects your failure as a father! Bill, break his left knee for me! Just like the last one!”

“Understood!” Bill replied, turning to his colleagues, “Hold him down!”

Lawson Lewis screamed in horror, “No! Help!”

Lily Lewis panicked, crying out, “Dad!”

Without hesitation, Bill swung the steel rod down after his men secured Lawson Lewis’s legs.

“Ah…” The pain was unbearable for Lawson Lewis as his knee shattered. He feared he would never recover.

Charlie pressed on, “I’ll ask you again your daughter is fickle and cheated on her fiance. Are you aware of this?”

Lawson Lewis sobbed, “I know, I know, it’s my fault. I promise to train her better from now on…”

Charlie replied coldly, “If you knew, why didn’t you stop it? By failing to correct her, you as a father have a twisted perspective on life and are enabling her wrongdoings!”

Turning to Bill, he commanded, “Bill, cripple his other leg!”

The Amazing Son In Law Chapter 70

The Amazing Son In Law Chapter 70

Loreen felt a sharp pain in her legs and she was engulfed by despair as tears streamed down her face.

The young man looked at her tear-streaked beautiful face with a twisted sense of desire, gulping hard before ordering, “Put her in the car!”

Nearby, someone chimed in, “Mr. Westbrook, when do we get a turn with this beauty?”

The young man replied coldly, “Once I’m finished, I’ll let you have your chance!”

After saying that, he reached out to grab her and throw her into the car.

At that moment, a series of heartbreaking screams erupted outside!

“Ah!”

A chorus of cries filled the air.

Angrily, the young man shouted, “What’s going on?”

But as he lifted his head, a sudden gust of wind hit his face!

Before he could react, a sharp pain seared across his face, stars dancing before his eyes as his nose cracked with a sickening sound and blood poured from it.

Feeling as though he had been struck by a hammer, he fell back, screaming in agony.

As he collapsed, he noticed several of his accomplices sprawled on the ground like lifeless bodies.

Loreen looked up in terror, her beautiful eyes widening in astonishment.

Before her stood a man in a black mask, his gaze as cold as steel.

Surprised and relieved, Loreen thought, Who is this man? Is he here to rescue me? He must be here to save me!

The young man lay on the ground, blood-smeared and unable to rise.

This man moved so quickly, taking down four of them in the blink of an eye. The remaining masked men were momentarily stunned before rushing toward him, roaring and calling for reinforcements.

“You! Who are you?” Loreen asked, sitting on the ground as she looked up at him.

The man didn’t respond but quickly scooped her up and dashed deeper into the alley.

Loreen gasped for breath, her heart racing as shock coursed through her.

The shouts of the pursuing men and the roar of motorcycles echoed behind them, closing in.

As the wind whipped past her face, Loreen, having lost too much blood, clung tightly to the man.

For some inexplicable reason, she felt a sense of familiarity about his presence.

Little did she know that the mysterious man was actually her best friend’s husband, Charlie.

Charlie had been passing by and spotted Loreen being surrounded.

Fearing for her safety, he had donned a mask to rescue her.

Empowered by the aura he gained from the white stone, Charlie’s abilities had significantly improved, allowing him to move faster than ever before.

With the many alleys in the area, Charlie quickly lost their pursuers behind him.

After running a considerable distance, he finally stopped in a secluded part of a park.

As darkness descended, the lush vegetation around them provided cover, even if their pursuers caught up.

He gently set Loreen down and noticed her pants stained with blood, his expression instantly hardening.

Despite the significant blood loss, Loreen was still conscious. With a pale face, she expressed her gratitude, saying, “Thank you for saving me. May I ask… who are you?”

Charlie glanced at her but chose not to speak.

After all, she had always looked down on him. Even if he revealed his identity, what good would it do? It would only complicate things further.

It was better to remain anonymous for now.

Moreover, he didn’t come to her aid out of a desire for appreciation; he was simply acting on behalf of his wife, Claire.

Noticing Charlie’s silence, Loreen understood that he likely preferred to keep his identity hidden, so she refrained from asking again.

However, her strong-willed nature wouldn’t let her feel entirely comfortable with the situation. Since he had saved her but hadn’t accepted her gratitude, she felt he owed her something.

Just as Loreen was about to speak again, she heard his hoarse, cold voice say, “Take off your pants.”

Loreen’s eyes widened in shock as she looked up at the masked man, embarrassment and anger flooding through her.

She thought she had narrowly escaped danger, only to find herself in a worse predicament.

In this isolated place, with the man’s apparent skill, even her screams wouldn’t guarantee her escape.

Despair washed over her, and she clenched her teeth defiantly. “Don’t try to touch me! I will never allow anyone to humiliate me! I would rather die than let you harm me!”

Charlie was taken aback for a moment, then deliberately lowered his voice, pointing at her leg. “Your hamstring is injured, and the wound is dangerously close to the main artery. If you don’t get treatment quickly, you could end up disabled. If you lose any more blood before reaching the hospital, it will be too late. What do you choose?”

Loreen looked at him in disbelief, her cheeks flushing with heat.

She had assumed he intended to take advantage of her, but his words revealed otherwise…

Observing Loreen’s stunned expression, Charlie let out a quiet sigh.

Tentatively, she asked, “Can you… help me stop the bleeding?”

Charlie nodded. “I have some knowledge of Chinese medicine and can use acupuncture to halt the bleeding and ease your injury. Then you will have time to get proper treatment at the hospital.”

“Th-thank you,” Loreen stammered, her face now flushed, her voice barely above a whisper.

She hesitated to look at her wound, feeling deeply conflicted.

The injury was on her upper thigh, meaning she had to remove her pants.

But if she did, he would see her naked!

The Thomas family held strict values and Loreen never associated closely with other men, let alone allowed them to touch her.

Besides that, her family employed a renowned Western doctor. She was skeptical about whether acupuncture alone could effectively stop the bleeding and heal her injuries.

After contemplating her options, she politely refused. “Thank you for your kindness, but please take me to the hospital first. I think I can still manage.”

Charlie frowned, fully aware of her reasoning.

Loreen likely thought her injuries weren’t severe enough to warrant urgent attention, which is why she preferred to head to the hospital first.

What she didn’t realize was that the only reason she felt stable was that he had discreetly infused her with a small amount of reiki while he held her.

Without that, she would have succumbed to blood loss long ago.

When Charlie fell silent, Loreen began to believe her injuries weren’t as grave as she thought, prompting her to attempt to rise.

But the moment she moved, her wound tore open and a surge of warm blood spilled forth.

Loreen’s strength left her and she slumped back to the ground, dizzy and pale.

Charlie frowned and said, “I warned you that if you moved again, this leg would likely be irreparable. Even if you make it to the hospital, they may not be able to help you. Plus, considering your blood loss, you could very well die from shock before an ambulance arrives. The choice is yours, treat it now or not.”

The Amazing Son In Law Chapter 71

Loreen covered her legs and noticed blood seeping from her fingers, confirming that Charlie had spoken the truth.

However, she felt uncomfortable about taking off her pants in front of a stranger.

Faced with a life-or-death situation, Loreen hesitated for what felt like an eternity before finally yielding. She feared for her life and dreaded becoming disabled.

Her face flushed with embarrassment as she glanced at Charlie, her heart racing and a sense of unease washed over her entirely.

Finally, she murmured, “I understand. Thank you.”

Charlie nodded, crouched down, gripped her pants firmly and tore them apart.

Loreen gasped for breath as her cheeks burned with heat. Her heart raced and she averted her gaze, unable to look at Charlie.

Charlie remained calm, focusing on the knife wound on her left leg. He aligned his index and middle fingers and applied pressure to the acupuncture points.

A stream of energy flowed from his fingers into the wound.

His gaze remained fixed on the injury, ignoring everything else. He worked quickly and after several precise taps, the bleeding gradually ceased.

According to the medical techniques detailed in the Apocalyptic Book, Charlie could have completely healed Loreen, repairing her tendons and veins and even closing the wound instantly, but he chose not to overwhelm her with such abilities.

Instead, he used his fingers like needles to stop the bleeding and halted once her tendons stabilized. The remaining flesh wounds would only require bandaging at the hospital, allowing her to heal naturally afterward.

Loreen’s heart raced as she felt the pain lessen and the bleeding stop after Charlie’s gentle touches. She was utterly amazed.

To think that the traditional Chinese medicine her family dismissed as ineffective was far superior to Western medicine!

“Alright,” Charlie said calmly, standing up without glancing at her and said “Now you can try to stand.”

Loreen attempted to rise and to her astonishment, the bleeding had indeed stopped. Her joy and surprise mingled.

With a flushed face, she shyly said, “Since you prefer not to reveal your name, at least allow me to thank you properly?”

“There’s no need.” Charlie replied curtly, wanting to keep his identity hidden.

“You saved my life. If I can’t even express my gratitude, I would feel ashamed for the rest of my life.”

Loreen insisted, then removed a necklace from around her neck. “This is a gift from my grandfather for my coming-of-age ceremony. Since you saved my life, I want you to have it.”

She held out a platinum chain with a sparkling pink diamond set in the pendant.

Charlie contemplated refusing but sensed a faint energy radiating from the pink diamond. Changing his mind, he accepted it.

He nodded, removed his coat and wrapped it around her waist. “I’m sorry for tearing your pants. You can use my coat to cover yourself. I called the nearby hospital’s emergency number, an ambulance will arrive in a few minutes. You’re safe now, but I have to leave.”

With that, Charlie turned and walked away without looking back, vanishing into the dense sorghum field.

“Hey, wait a minute…” Loreen called out, but Charlie had already disappeared from sight.

Just then, the distant sound of an ambulance echoed through the park. She looked down at the coat enveloping her lower body and then in the direction Charlie had gone, feeling a profound sense of loss.

In an instant, she recognized the familiarity of his departing figure.

Loreen thought for a moment and suddenly remembered that this silhouette was identical to the chairman! Could he be the chairman of Emgrand Group? A spark ignited in her heart.

Yet she hadn’t asked his name, nor had she seen his face. Was her guess even correct?

At that moment, Loreen spotted a grayish-white pebble lying where Charlie had just crouched, with the words “peace and wealth” inscribed on it.

He must have dropped this by accident.

Feeling as though she had stumbled upon a treasure, she clutched the stone tightly.

If she never saw him again, this stone would serve as the only keepsake he left behind.

Once Loreen was taken to the hospital by ambulance, doctors diagnosed her with minor injuries.

The physician who treated her was unaware of Charlie’s earlier intervention and was amazed by her condition.

Given the knife wound on her leg, he had expected at least some severe tendon damage, but her skin wounds were superficial, with her tendons intact and seemingly reinforced.

The doctor remarked, “Your injury should heal completely after a few days of rest. To be honest, this is remarkable. Did you receive any special treatment?”

While Loreen’s thoughts wandered to the mysterious man, she replied, “I didn’t do anything special.”

The doctor was impressed. “That’s incredible!”

He continued, “By the way, I have notified the police. They will arrive shortly and you can tell them about your attack at that time.”

Loreen nodded in acknowledgment.

The police arrived quickly, taking the situation seriously since someone had been stabbed in a downtown area, especially as the victim was a senior executive of Emgrand Group.

Among the officers, some were familiar with the Wilson family and recognized that she was a guest there, prompting them to inform the family.

Meanwhile, the Wilson family villa was strategizing their response.

Harold informed them that Loreen was in trouble but withheld the part he played in the incident. Lady Wilson viewed this as a prime opportunity for the family to shine. They had to find Loreen, rescue her and help Harold win her heart through this dramatic act.

As the news broke that she was in the hospital, Lady Wilson expressed her disappointment, sighing, “It would have been ideal if Harold could use this chance to be the hero who saves the girl!”

Immediately, she declared, “Let’s head to the hospital!”

Harold felt nervous but reluctantly followed his family to the hospital.

During the trip, Harold formulated a story, uncertain if Loreen would believe him.

When they arrived at the hospital and he saw Loreen, his face filled with surprise as he rushed over, “Loreen, are you okay? I was just about to call my dad and mobilize a rescue!”

“Rescue me?” Loreen’s expression turned cold, tinged with sarcasm as she replied softly, “You nearly got me killed!”

Harold quickly defended himself, “Loreen, don’t misunderstand. I was trying to draw their attention since they were looking for me, not you. I thought they wouldn’t harm you.”

Loreen scoffed dismissively and had lost all desire to argue with him, having seen through his facade completely. She only wanted to distance herself from him.

Noticing her indifference, Harold assumed she accepted his explanation. He scanned her, seeing that she was wrapped in a man’s coat, and frowned, “Loreen, where are your pants? Did they do anything to you?”

Loreen felt disgust wash over her and coldly replied, “That’s none of your business!”

Lady Wilson, keenly observant, turned to Loreen and asked, “Loreen, if you have anything to share, you can confide in your grandma. Those people didn’t harm you in any way, right?”

With a deadpan expression, Loreen replied, “They stabbed me, but thankfully, a young man passing by saved me. He treated my leg injury and when my pants were ruined, he offered me his coat. What’s the problem?”

“Young man?” Lady Wilson was visibly startled.

A young man saved Loreen; this was troubling! What if she developed feelings for him, leaving her precious grandson Harold with no chance?

At that moment, Harold interjected in jealousy, “Loreen, how did he treat you? Did he remove your pants to help you?”

Loreen sneered sarcastically, “What does it have to do with you?”
