Even though it was broad daylight, the young man wore a pair of antique gold-rimmed glasses featuring two round black lenses, the kind favored by the trendsetters at the late Warriors.
Trailing behind him were four or five bodyguards and compared to the young man’s showy demeanor, the bodyguards appeared menacing, causing those around to quickly step aside to avoid any trouble.
“Oh, it’s Young Mr. Quinton!”
The boss’s face instantly brightened at the sight of the young man and flattering words poured from his mouth like water. “Young Mr. Quinton, why didn’t you let me know in advance that you were coming today? I could have met you at the street corner…”
“Enough with the nonsense, I’m just here to take a look today.” The young man waved his hand impatiently.
He strode forward, glanced at the stone in Charlie’s hand and then looked up at the boss. “Zachary, wrap this stone up for me! My father’s desk needs a paperweight and this would be perfect!”
“This…” The green-eyed boss let out a dry laugh, glancing at Charlie hesitantly. “Graham, that’s unfortunate! This brother has already bought the stone! Honestly, it’s quite ordinary has no real value aside from being a paperweight. I have much better items set aside for you; why settle for something so trivial when I have exquisite pieces worthy of your status?”
Charlie then realized that the boss’s name was Zachary and that he seemed to know the young man quite well.
However, Charlie was genuinely amazed at Zachary’s way with words.

Charlie was taken aback. The same fake chicken cup? He had bought it for three hundred dollars and snagged a bargain, but little did he know that Graham would spend nine thousand for it.

Charlie smiled back and said, “Zachary, I don’t need a rundown of your items, right? I purchased this paperweight first, and I’m not interested in selling it to anyone else.”
Seeing Charlie’s refusal, Zachary was at a loss.

In recent days, Adam couldn’t shake the feeling that his second uncle had been deceived by the boy. However, he hesitated to provoke Charlie directly. As Charlie prepared to place a bid, Adam called out, even though he knew it was pointless—Charlie regarded him as he raised his hand. “Eight million!”
Jacob could no longer remain silent; he quickly exclaimed, “Charlie, let’s stop bidding. It’s not worth it. Just let it go.”
Charlie replied with a light smile, “Just watch how I handle this.”
With that, he raised his hand without hesitation. “Eight million!”
Everyone was left speechless.

The lively crowd began to chant,

Thinking about this, Sabrina quickly donned a flattering expression and said to Charlie in a soft voice, “It is an honor for both our Shangri-La and for me, as your old classmate, that Mr. Wade has arrived. Please come in…”
She believed that if she showered Charlie with compliments, he might overlook or forget about her earlier actions.
However, she underestimated Charlie’s kindness.
Isaac Cameron, surprised by Sabrina’s words, asked, “Ms. Lee, are you a classmate of Mr. Wade?”
“Yes, yes, absolutely!” Sabrina replied hastily. “Mr. Wade was my class monitor in college, and we had a really good relationship!”
Isaac Cameron immediately stated, “Report to the President’s Office tomorrow, you will be the HR director of Shangri-La from now on!”
Moving from team leader to HR director would require at least three significant advancements within Shangri-La, and it would come with a salary increase of more than ten times. Additionally, she would hold considerable power over most employees, placing her among the senior executives.
When Sabrina heard this, she was so excited that she nearly fainted.
At this moment, Charlie said coldly, “Mr. Cameron, do you know what my relationship with Sabrina is?”
Isaac Cameron thought Charlie was dissatisfied with the arrangement and quickly said, “If Mr. Wade is unhappy, then let’s promote Ms. Lee directly to vice president!”
Charlie abruptly responded, “Because I didn’t have a membership card, I reached out to Sabrina for help, but she humiliated me for no reason and even attempted to have the security guard beat me. And now you want to promote her to vice president? What do you mean by that? Are you intentionally trying to provoke me?”
Hearing this, Isaac Cameron felt a chill run down his spine.

He then glared at Sabrina with anger in his eyes.
With that, he slapped Sabrina forcefully across the face and scolded, “How dare you offend Mr. Wade? Are you that audacious? Do you want to throw your life away?”
Sabrina trembled in fear, her body weakening. She knelt on the ground, repeatedly bowing her head, crying out, “Mr. Cameron, I was wrong.”
Isaac Cameron suddenly kicked Sabrina hard, sending her sprawling several meters away, and cursed, “You blind fool! Today, you will learn the consequences of provoking Mr. Wade!”
He then shouted at the security guards standing nearby, “Beat her mercilessly! Hurt her badly, and ruin her plastic-surgery-enhanced face. Let everyone in Aurous Hill know that any company daring to hire her in the future will be opposing me, Isaac Cameron!”
Sabrina was terrified and urgently pleaded, “Mr. Cameron, I was wrong, please forgive me!”
Isaac Cameron was furious and yelled, “Now you realize your mistake? What about before? Did you think you could insult Master Wade without consequences? If it weren’t for Master Wade, I’d have killed you myself!”
Sabrina broke down in tears, kneeling and crawling towards Charlie, repeatedly banging her head to the ground, “Class Rep, I was wrong, I’m so sorry! For the sake of our past as classmates, please…”
Charlie calmly asked her, “Sabrina, we were classmates, so why did you insult me and my wife just now?”
Sabrina, filled with regret, cried, “Class Rep, I was confused just earlier. It was wrong of me to act that way. Please forgive me…”
Charlie responded, “If no one offends me, I won’t retaliate. But if someone does, I will not forgive them!”
He then added, “Drink the bitter wine you brewed yourself!”
Isaac Cameron interjected, “Wretch! If you dare to speak to Master Wade again, I’ll have someone tear that mouth of yours apart!”
Sabrina no longer dared to plead for mercy, collapsing to the ground in tears.
Charlie felt no sympathy for her and completely ignored her. He turned to Isaac Cameron with an emotionless expression and said, “I want to discuss the Sky Garden with you. Let’s go to your office.”
Isaac Cameron nodded quickly, replying respectfully, “Mr. Wade, right this way!”
He then pointed at the security guard beside him and commanded, “Beat her hard!”
“Yes, Mr. Cameron!”
How dare the security guard defy him? He immediately rushed over, restraining Sabrina and violently striking her.
Sabrina continued to wail, but Charlie paid no mind and entered Shangri-La, guided by Isaac Cameron.
Once in Isaac Cameron’s office, Charlie got straight to the point, “My wife and I will be celebrating our wedding anniversary in a few days. I want to book the entire Sky Garden. Can you arrange that?”
Isaac Cameron replied without hesitation, “Master, to ensure fairness to all premium members, the Sky Garden has always refrained from booking the entire venue. Even major city leaders cannot request such a service. However, if it’s for you, the Sky Garden can be reserved just for you anytime in the future!”
Charlie said lightly, “That’s not necessary. Just reserve it for the anniversary. Also, I need you to help me prepare a little surprise for my wife.”
Isaac Cameron instantly responded, “Master, rest assured. All of us at Shangri-La will follow your instructions!”

After completing business at Shangri-La, as Charlie took the bus home, he noticed that nearly all the passengers were engrossed in short video apps like Facebook and TikTok.
To his surprise, everyone was watching the same video!
It was a video of him spending 13 million in cash at the Emerald Court!
Captured from Stephen Thompson’s Rolls-Royce motorcade, it featured a long line of high-end Rolls-Royces, a dozen black-clad security guards controlling black suitcases, 13 million in cash scattered on the ground, and a sales manager looking down on others, filled with shame. Charlie reassured himself he was difficult to identify in the video, finally breathing a sigh of relief as he returned home.
At that moment, his family was bursting with joy.
Claire had secured a contract with the Emgrand Group and was about to become the director of the Wilson Group. Naturally, her parents were ecstatic and had tears of happiness in their eyes.

Claire chimed in, “How about we go to Kempinski for Western cuisine?”
“That’s too pricey!” her mother-in-law exclaimed, “The average cost must be over a thousand, right?”
Claire smiled, replying, “Mom, the director’s salary is quite high—around one million annually.”
“Oh!” her mother-in-law clapped her hands in delight, exclaiming, “Wonderful! My Claire is finally achieving success!”
She then added, “But remember, you ought to give at least 70% of your future salary to me. You young people don’t understand financial management, it’s much safer to let me handle your money than for you to mismanage it!”
Claire- nodded and smiled, “Alright, Mom, I’ll send you money every month, but let’s make a deal, you can’t keep criticizing Charlie in the future, after all, he is your son-in-law!”
Her mother-in-law smiled back, “Deal! For your sake, I’ll try to mention him less from now on!”
